Need troubleshooting help - port of my old player home mod to SE

Recommended Posts

Hopefully this is a good place to post this. I'm looking for some extra eyes to help me double check my work.

I've posted a long overdue conversion of my Winterhold player home to SE. Here is the page: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/46674

I've done a variety of basic testing of the mod, and it seems to be working fully as intended.

However, I've had it posted for a week now and have gotten no feedback whatsoever, good or bad, nor any endorsements, though it has been downloaded.

This leads me to believe there is a major issue I'm somehow missing. The oldrim version of the mod (here) had a normal endorsement ratio, which I mention because it probably means the issue is not with the content of the mod.

I've been out of the game a few years. Has something changed about Nexus? Am I missing something elementary about porting/posting mods?

Any help appreciated. I just want the mod to be working for people.

I don't think you are missing anything. I have found that if anything is wrong with a mod, you will receive a post/comment almost immediately that something is not working...otherwise it is not uncommon to have few comments. I have found also that the downloads are not as many as they used to be back in the day and endorsements are fewer....It is not uncommon for a mod to have thousands of downloads with less than 100 endorsements :( I almost always endorse mods myself.

Your home looks amazing. Thanks for sharing your mod!

Statistically, only 10% of downloaders will go into the trouble to endorse a mod, and after all of those years of Skyrim been on the scene and the ten of thousands of mods been made, it's really difficult to impress the crowd...

Unfortunately, players have become spoiled little brats by the constant obsession of the modders trying to get more endorsements, and they end up compromising themself in order to satisfy the players...

Keep in mind that: By sharing a mod everybody wins except the modder!!, don't make mods for others but only for yourself... An endorsement is nothing more than a digital signature which in the real world has absolutely No Value!!!.

Have a pleasant day all.

You're probably right that I would have heard about it if there was a problem. Maybe silence is good. Thanks for sharing that. Maybe I'm just being a bit pessimistic.

Yeah, that was about my experience back when I released the mod for oldrim, too.

I don't need the endorsements for my vanity, but, I do see the endorsements as a proxy for the mod working as intended. Maybe thats not a good way to look at it anymore.

Thanks for the input!
