hello everyone!

which do you think its the most balanced and realistic combat mod, skyre combat module or duel combat realism? i am searching for a combat mod that doesnt make you invincible after a certain level and keeps the tactical immersion. any other suggestions?

thanks!

SkyRe isn't about realism, its about giving the player options.

if you want to have weapons like glaives and tantos and to have lots of perks for those kinds of weapons and fighting styles then use SkyRe.

DUEL is extremely melee focused and primarily features an intricate staggering system. I find the other features in DUEL other than the stagger system rather underwhelming.

Did you know DUEL applies an invisible 1.2x damage buff to all weapons?

It makes the underpowered magic system even more underpowered, it makes no sense.

Like I said, its very melee focused.

in a few words the duel mod seems to be a mediocre combat mod? i though to try both skyre combat module and duel to see if it is compatable but i am afraid not to ruin my game :(

just calling duel bad would be grossly inaccurate :p

its an extremely good rework of stagger mechanics with some weird other things sprinkled on top.

as a modder I would just strip the stuff I dont want off with tes5edit.

and just keep in mind that as a whole it makes the players weapons more OP, increasing your damage as well as letting you stagger more often.

I've tried all the major combat mods over the last year, and I currently use SkyRe. I like it's stagger mechanics, its very fast and brutal, and feels more realistic to me. 3 sword slashes and you are done. There's a lot of different ways to play, and that keeps me interested. Downsides are archery might be a tad too powerful, and there are a lot of penalties applied to when you take hits (it's really hard to come back if you take a few hits.) Either way, its waay better than vanilla.

SkyRe is the best all around, balance combat ENHANCER, it gives you more options, makes things harder, but more rewarding.

A great mod for JUST combat is Duke Patrick's Mod, it ias bade on very realistic immersive combat, but I don't know how well it balances with the use of magic. I've tried it out, but it is incompatible with SkyRe.

It sounds like the choice in Combat Mod may depend a lot on your preferred play style, just from what I am picking up here.

My personal preference in Duel Combat Realism....I play a Stealth Archer and Duel Combat makes it's much more challenging for me which is what I wanted. Foe's dive for cover and stay in cover when I try to pick them off with Arrows and force me to move position to get a bead on them again (a good chance of having to give my position away in doing so)....On open ground they will also attempt to flank my Archer, I have to watch for that always.....counting their numbers and remembering how many and trying to keep tabs on where they all are at all times unless I want to get caught by surprise from a sudden unexpected side attack.....(I use a Mod that adds more Foes)...Duel Combat makes me need to think about my positioning, what I can use in the environment, how much movement I have to spare, forces me to take chances with exposure or having to use myself as bait to entice them out of cover, etc...It is a good choice for an Archer.

Though the above comments have now answered my question as to why I had so much trouble with the Mage I tried recently...Thank you for the heads up on that GrimyBunyip....
