tarakotik Posted March 21, 2021 Share Posted March 21, 2021 I have been putting off doing the "Guess Who I Saw Today" quest because I did not have a sufficient science skill of 90. I finished most of the questline, did the test on Lily, make Keene step down from his aggressions and did Lonesome Road + OWB for easy xp. Once I came back and had a science skill of 88, I also made sure to take the Programmer's Digest magazine so that I can do the speech check. Problem is, when I started talking to him, he did not have the speech check. I existed the conversation but it didn't work. I asked him spoke questions but the speech check appear. I thought this was because I took the magazine, so I loaded an older save, went over to him and he still didn't have the speech check. I disabled and enabled him in the console but it didn't appear. I typed in kill and resurrect and it didn't work aswell. I tried reading on forums if anybody else had this problem but apparently not. Anybody know how to fix it? Thanks. Otherwise you need to look for a "mod conflict". (The lack of other reports is an indication the problem is specific to your setup or steps through the quest.) Is there anything I can force do to force the dialogue? I was told to try getstagedone 13f405 80 and getstage 13f405 but it didn't work. dubiousintent Posted March 24, 2021 Share Posted March 24, 2021 "Quest stages" indicate progression through the quest. As such they might enable a specific dialog topic, but are not likely to affect a "check" such as"speech". I suppose it is theoretically possible, but have never heard of an instance. (But that doesn't really mean much as there are many specific things I don't know about this game and haven't looked at the script for this quest.) Generally attempts to reset the stage number back to an earlier one are "dicey" at best. Suggest you try to reset the quest to the beginning (probably stage "10" but haven't checked) and try again. If Dr Henry (not you, but probably what you meant) did do the experiment already, then you missed your chance.
