AMD Omega Driver, need second opinion

OK so I don't have the best settings for gaming performance but most games are fine at lower setting. For nostalgia's sake I went and got Red Faction: Guerilla and it is slow as hell, but I can just about play it with all the graphics enhancers off and on low resolution.

I had a look around on some forums and I have been led to this site http://www.omegadrivers.net/, if i'm honest I would say i'm fairly ignorant when it comes to the technical side of things so I would like to know from someone with experience if it's a good idea to install this. I have just updated my drivers the usual way, so if I used this would anything get compromised and would it be better for gaming?

My specs

Windows 7 Home Premium

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 645 Processor, 3100 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)

6gb RAM

ATI Radeon HD 4250 - I've been told this a big let down for me but I do intend to get a better card when I have the spare cash

ATI Radeon HD 4250

I doubt the drivers can help you with that card, overclocking + that driver may increase gaming performance a lot but it may also blow your video card up, especially if it has passive cooling.

I tried installing Omega for my Radeon HD 4350 but I got absolutely nothing in terms of performance though. You can try it and see if it helps you, if it doesn't you can always remove it and install the official AMD driver again.

Damn! Sorry to hear you haven't managed an upgrade yet. To be honest mate, given what we discussed before, I'd leave it and get a new card when you can. If you push your current card much harder it's not likely going to last very long and you don't want to find yourself with empty pockets and NO card! I'm feeling guilty now as I've got a spare 4890 sitting in a box that I haven't got around to installing as a Xfire booster on my backup system
Hope you manage to scrape together some cash soon, hard as it must be right now.
Don't forget to keep checking the sites I mentioned before for one off cheap deals and just get in touch if you need some more advice

Yeah i'm sure I will sort it out soon, I have just paid off my computer and forked out to get my dogs nads snipped so I can realistically think about getting a decent card...so long as I don't get distracted by something else ;D

I will have to wait then, got a few mods on the go anyway to keep me occupied
