Hello,

I was installing mods with Vortext when all of a sudden an uncaught exception occured whenever I want to download a mod with Vortex.

A Java Script Error occured in the main process

I already reinstalled Vortex mulitple times (with anti virus turned off) and reinstalled microsoft visual c++ libraries 2015-2019.

Vortex and the games are both on the same harddrive © and Vortex is the latest Version.

I did absolutely nothing before the error and I don't know what to do anymore.

Can anyone help me, please?

A picture of the error is attached.

Which antivirus are you using?

Because it could be removing things in the background once you turn it back on

I have been using Avira as Free Version, but deinstalled it completely and have not installed it back again yet. So the only thing still active is Windows Defender?

And I have restarted the PC after every deinstalling/reinstalling to make sure the rebooting process is clean.

Try turning off Window Defender's "Controlled Folder Access"

I looked it up and it was already turned off...

Do you have any idea what may caused the error in the first place?

And thank you for your help, I really appreciate it!

Well, this is weird, because this same problem has been reported multiple times, and the way to fix it was to turn off the AntiVirus, reinstall Vortex, and to install the Microsoft Visual C+ libraries ( and you probably saw those threads because you tried all that)

So, one other thing is, I hope you don't have everything installed in Program Files (x86), because Windows get stupidly over-protective about that folder, and will deny even the admin access to certain things in it "just because" it feels like it.

Other people have no problem, yet others do.
