Cwronaga2167
Is anyone else have issues with places like the blue palace being pitch black do to a lack of light sources and ambient light???
anjenthedog
Pitch black? No. If you're literally getting a pitch black interior (ie no lighting), then something's wrong... perhaps a mod you added for the blue palace or solitude that's interfering. However, most lighting in Skyrim is a bit on the dark side (for my eyes anyway), so I use a couple of mods to help solve that. first, Imaginator, which provides direct user control of various lighting settings (brightness, contrast, etc) second, Interior Vs Exterior Brightness Settings SSE, which provides the user with a basic MCM setting for brightness in interior and exterior settings. Gunslinger808
Are you using an ENB?Some are notorious for darkening up already gloomy places.I use Rudy ENB and it makes for true darkness.
Moksha8088
Anjenthedog, what Imaginator settings do you find most helpful?
anjenthedog
For me? Contrast, brightness, and saturation. edit: specific values depend on your card and monitor, but mine are set for brightness: -0.9contrast: 0.6saturation: 2.3I don't need any other changes at present, but you can obviously adjust color tone and some other things. I also have the Brightness control mod for purpose use under special circumstance... ie, a given environment that's simply tooooo dark or tooooo bright for my suiting, so I change the interior or exterior lighting accordingly, then reset once back out/inside/elsewhere. And over all that, Realistic Lighting Overhaul is governing the basics lighting, buffered by Dynamic Volumetric Lighting and Sun Shadows note: there doesn't seem to be any special order preference shown in my mod rules list for any of these, so I'm not sure about how they actually stack in terms of my game and "command precedence", or wheter one shoud be concerned about any. In fact, only RLO shows up on my mod load rules, and that's for other mods.
briarheart22
I think some comments hit the issue. Monitor, etc. I'm old, and this game is so dark in so many places. What I did for a quick "light" is modav my jumpheight to 200, jump, hit ~, player.placeatme 77fce, a good bright light. ~ again, and now I can see. It may flicker on and off a little bit in spots because it conflicts with other lighting. You can use jaxonpositioner to move it around. Now I don't have to go into creation kit and modify lighting. Messing with interiors on the original game with ck can cause problems.
