Snap'n Build Patch

Hi everyone i took a deeper look into the buildable objects of the Snap'n Build 2.0 mod because i use it alot. The problem is that the navmeshes of the most objects are messed up and settlers even cant use stairs.

So i edited one of the stairs and created a new navmesh for it. Now my settler can pass this stairs. Im planing to check all objects in this mod and patch them if needed.

Are there ppl interested in such a patch? If so i would publish my work when im done with the permission of the author of the original mod.

Greetings

Is the original author still active? Is he/she aware of the problem? Might wanna drop 'em a PM, and see what ya get. They might be interested in collaborating with you on that.

He was last activ this month. I already wrote him and yes he know about the navmesh problems. This is also reported under the bugs section of the mod page.

I'd definitely be interested. Some good stuff in Snap'n' Build, but I have to use it sparingly because of the navmesh issues (I have an entire bunker where the settlers insist on trying to walk through walls or climb through windows, avoiding the doors at all costs).

I took a look into the navmeshes of the bunker parts. The parts without doorframes are good. Only those with doorframes in it are a lil bit screwed.

So ur only problem is that ur settler dont want to walk through these doorframes right?

The want to walk through walls, preferentially targeting those with windows. Just thought of it, it could be that they are seeing the shutters on the windows as doors, since they open and close (which is why I use Snap'n Build instead of a different bunker kit).

Oh, also discovered today that Snap'n Build industrial catwalks are missing snap points. Specifically the piece with no integral railing. You can snap a railing from someplace else onto the ends of the piece, but not the sides. Makes trying to use them as balconies pointless (still trying to find a decent alternative, I just can't remember where the ones I used in the Mechanist's Lair are located lol).

Ok thats strange ... i'll take a look again into the parts with windows. But what kind of shutters do you use? I use a lot of building mods and i'm not sure if i've ever seen shutters for the bunker parts.

The problem about the snap points in the industrial parts ... i cant do much about that because as far as i know, the snap points are set in the model file itself. I would need the raw files to change or add more snap points :/

Im stil waiting for the permission by the author of the snap'n build mod.

EDIT: Take a look here. Maybe this can be a solution for you. The only problem would be that you have to replace the SnB parts with my parts.

The ones in the Snap'n Build Bunker set. That you can open and close. They are the only reason to use Snap'n Build for bunkers.

Good luck with that. If you look at the mod it has an extensive bug report list which hasn't been touched in 3 years. It's basically abandoned. If it wasn't for the faction themed pods and the unfortunate fact that it's apparently the only mod with an Industrial kit I'd remove it from my load order, because it's just too buggy for heavy use.
