Disclaimer: I haven't found a suitable (sub)forum, so I'm posting here. If there is a suitable (sub-)forum, you are welcome to move my post there. But then please inform me about the new location of my post via PM.

I want to play ME3 again with these mods:

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/846 Ambient Audio Overhaul Mod

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/363 A Lot Of Textures (ALOT) for ME3

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/773 A Lot Of Videos (ALOV) for ME3

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/2 Citadel Epilogue Mod

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/350 EGM - Expanded Galaxy Mod

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/884 Hairy Sheploo

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/66 MEHEM The Mass Effect 3 Happy Ending Mod

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/679 Omega Hub

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/766 Priority Earth Overhaul Mod

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/610 Tali Romance Mod

And I'm not sure if this can lead to any conflicts or even crashes. Unfortunately there is no tool that checks and tells this.

Also I have some general questions about the mods: I play ME3 in English but with German texts. What happens? If a text in a mod is only in english? Will the English text be displayed or nothing at all?

I know that CEM will not work exactly properly since it needs english texts to actually skip certain lines. On the plus side, Autoola made a German translation.

He has CEM and the transition mods for use with CEM.

MEHEM is also covered by Autoola

As for the rest, if the mods say English only, then unfortunately, go with what they say. As far as figuring out if things conflict or not, right, it's very difficult to figure it out. You'd have to manually install all of the mods and then compare the files to look for duplicates. In general, if you don't see duplicates, you're fine. The exception I know of is PEOM since he streams into custom file names during the end (JAM and others do this as well but on your list, PEOM is the only one I know.)

If the Hairy Sheploo only has a few files in it, likely you're fine.

Omega Hub should be ok if it supports non-English.

Ditto for Tali.

I doubt EGM supports non-English but if it does, great.

ALOT and ALOV definitely should be fine and install it last (and yes, install any CEM Full or goodbye patches after ALOT, it's an odd deal that's a thing on my end.)

AmbientAudio might... depends on what they changed.

That's my thoughts anyway and lots of guessing. On the plus side, MEHEM and CEM have German versions thanks to Autoola.

Deager... you're active?? I thought you were AFK, lol. Long time no see

As for the OP: A quick glance on each mod page will tell you which mods are compatible and incompatible.

I actually recommend waiting until May 7th to start your ME3 modded playthrough. Just trust me on this one. You won't have to worry about any incompatibility after then.

As for the list you mentioned -- Expanded Galaxy Mod and my Ambient Audio Overhaul Mod are incompatible. But once again, that will change after May 7th. Regarding the rest of the stuff... you're all good, just make sure you select the Ending Mods compatibility when installing PEOM.

So just to make things clear:

1. install almost any mod (Except ALOT, ALOV and CEM).
2. then ALOT + ALOV
3. and then the CEM mod?

Why should I install the German version of a mod if I want to play ME3 with English speaking language? Let's take "MEHEM The Mass Effect 3 Happy Ending Mod - German Translation" as an example. Its download is 1,5 GB big. So it's safe to assume that there's more to the mod than just the text files, right?
Apart from that, I don't have any problems with English texts and subtitles being displayed instead of German ones. However, to have none at all would be a problem.
In the past I have solved such problems by renaming the text files so that the game "thought" they were the right ones. I used this method to " modify " Mass Effect 1 so that I could play it multilingual.
But that was a while ago and I did it with the help of a manual.

PS: Why do ME3 mods have no multilingual support? At least as far as subtitles + texts are concerned.

ME3 mods have no multilingual support because foreign speakers are sometimes hard to find. Even when you do, not everyone is willing to change 200 lines of text.

What I mean by this is of course: Why are the translations not simply integrated into the mod or provided as an add-on?

I would not have thought that I have to explain that extra.

In the case of CEM, I don't speak German and the audio lines have to be different in some cases as well. That's where it was nice that Autoola stepped in.

A little note on that install order, do read the instructions for CEM Full because the James file, despite best practice is generally graphics mods last, the James patch has to go in last as does the new goodbye scene for either Full or Lite.

Ok, so slowly I am really confused. Now in what order should the mods be installed?

Please post, as I did, as a bulleted list with paragraphs.

Apparently moding Mass Effect is not without pitfalls. It is rather mediocre mod friendly. - You can change a lot but things can break quickly. And there are probably something like "dependencies" among the individual mods.

Apart from such "adventures" as tocing. - Or whatever it's called.

I've modded for a few games but I've never experienced anything like this. - Maybe I'll just leave out the mods that are too complicated.

I mean, this is the first time I've actually made an Excel spreadsheet for the mods I want to play a game with before I've even started it.

Wait until May 7th, you won't have to worry about install order.

Regardless, it's actually really simple. Problem is a lot of people suck at explaining it, both on their mod pages and in person.

The install order is irrelevant, except for ALOT, which must be installed last. Meaning that you install everything that you want, and only THEN ALOT.

That's it. That's all there is to it.

What actually happens if I, after I have installed ALL mods + ALOT, and then want to install another mod? I still have some mods on my "maybe list".

Like for example:

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/207 Intuitive Controls Mod

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/344 Bonus Power Packs

Do I then each time ALOT de- and reinstall so that nothing gets broken?
