Trouble with rigging an outfit

I'm honestly at my wits end at this point. I'm working on my first proper mod that would add some new clothing to the game, and they have custom meshes made in Outfit Studio. Currently working on the first of the outfits.

I've been trying to get this stupid dress to work properly, but now anytime I load the mod up in the game with actual bone weights on the outfit, it crashes. If I use older versions of the outfit, which are admittedly from before I added some more detail, it doesn't crash. Could the problem be that there's too much detail on the mesh, or is there something else I could be doing wrong? I'm pretty sure I've used mods before that had more complex meshes than this, but I am a complete beginner at this, so I don't really know.

I've been copying the bone weights from other outfits to the actual outfits, and then fixing up any area that doesn't have weights on. The only times when the game doesn't crash with the latest version of the outfit is if I've removed skinning and the outfit is just T-posing. The older version of the outfit had 2-dimensional details such as a tooth necklace, and the skirt had far fewer vertices. In an attempt to make the movement around the skirt a bit smoother and less jagged, I made it a lot more high-poly, and I also added actual 3-dimensional teeth and a 3-dimensional part of the belt that sticks out, meaning the mesh is significantly larger.

Here's a couple of pictures from Outfit Studio, just so you can see the mesh before and after. The one on the left, the earlier version, is 278 kB, while the newer one on the right is 391 kB, for what its worth.

Double check your partitions. When you removed the legs you removed the calves partition that was there, but unless you actually remove it from the Partitions tab in Outfit Studio the data will still be in your nifs.

Same might apply to the forearms partition as well.

FYI, the safer process is to use hidden body zaps as opposed to deleting parts of the body.
