Noob FOMOD Question for Vortex

Per the title, I am a noob at modding and even more so at using Vortex. I am fully expecting a straight forward and simple answer, but searching the forum I could not find an answer to this exact question.

 

tldr: FOMODs don't pop-up on vortex install.

 

When I install mods with scripted installers/FOMODs Vortex does not open up the pop-up menu to allow me to make selections for the mod. They are downloaded, unpacked as-is, installed, and enabled without any fomod options shown. I also noticed that neither of three cited mods below are in my plugin tab, not sure if that is an issue or not.

 

I have tried reinstalling the mods but they still do not offer FOMOD pop-ups like I see in the tutorial video for scripted installers.

 

I was considering making the alterations manually prior to install but I am having trouble tracking down how to do this manually when using vortex.

Context: I have Vortex 1.6.7

Game: Skyrim SE Anniversary w/ SKSE 64 installed and enabled on vortex

Types of mods I am having difficulties with:

SMIM

Cloaks of Skyrim

Keeping Warm

If you're using "Unpack as-is" and not "Install" the install logic isn't run and the zip folder is just extracted directly into the staging folder

Thank you - before when I tried just the simple "install" it was giving me an error, so I began unpacking everything. The FOMODs did not like that. Now that I am trying it again it seems to be extracting the file properly.
