Sadly, Steam version here, this does nothing for me.

My NVIDIA Desktop (3080 / 5900X) plays with minor stutter. Quite enjoyable.

My AMD Laptop (6800M / 5900HX), stutters and even freezes at times with sub-par performance overall. So strange. It absolutely decimates many games, and I was only trying for 60 on it.

Cool, was wondering why the game was weirdly stuttering but otherwise running like butter.

My system can't handle the memory load from this tweak but I did find this which seems to help with the explosion and spawn stutters..

How to Disable Control Flow Guard for The Ascent
Click on the Windows Start Menu and search for Exploit Protection
Click on the Program Settings tab
Click + Add Program to Customize
Select Exact File Path
Navigate to \steamapps\common\The Ascent\TheAscent\Binaries\Win64\ and select TheAscent-Win64-Shipping.exe
In the window that appears scroll down to Control Flow Guard
Check in Override System Settings, turn the setting off, then click Apply.
These are the settings that worked for me! I hope you can find that it helps you too and can start to enjoy this amazing game without the stutter!
