Hi,
Thank you for the guide. With this I may be able to fix a mod that has a problem.
One comment in your guide at the end I do not quite follow.

In the Creation Kit, you need to leave 1 triangle of the Navmesh undeleted. Otherwise the NavMesh will get the deleted tag again. But if you followed my guide, you shouldn't have this issue.

Squashy jumped half outta his skin, when he saw this on the Mod Page..
Then you went and spoiled it all, by saying "Not" to go after the "Official F**kups" ... :rolleyes:

Oh well, Good for some mods Squashy has used before, maybe Squashy can try again with all the "Thalmor Quests" by @MadFrenchie! :D

Im glad this exists, I used a VERY similar method.
Trying to inform people though text only was difficult.

The reason why you shouldn't go after the official ones:

You can't load them as active file in the CK. To do that you'll need to ESPify them. However, by doing this, you will break the file, unfortunately.

I use a similar method, but undelete in creation kit. I have never left just one navmesh when lowering the bunch and have never had a problem. I do, however clean my mod again in TES5Edit. Does leaving all the other navmeshes below have any other consequences?

I'm not sure tbh. I mainly reduce it to 1 Triangle to save space.
