what is the addition to the fallout.ini? I don't want to replace my current .ini file, but would like to add this line to it

Mate, you are a legend. This is the best file on the site because, with it, I can actually play the game. Thank you. I'll endorse once my "hour after downloading the file" has passed.

In this case, it really is a shame you can't endorse a file until an hour after you've downloaded it - because Fallout would CTD for me whenever I started a new game before. Now it works perfectly. You're a gamesaver!

@redeyesandlonghair
Find the line:
bUseThreadedAI=0
change it to:
bUseThreadedAI=1
Add another line after it and insert:
iNumHWThreads=2
This will limit the game to 2 cores and prevent the engine bug from causing the game to freeze. although your game will still require D3D9 if you run Intel Graphics 3000

Holy crap man, you are a godsend. I thought I'd never be able to play this game on my new laptop. Thank you so very much!

I'm probably the only one who couldn't get this to work.
Brand new computer, intel HD graphics card, tried like 5 different fixes, but whenever I press "New" to start a new game, It loads for about 5 seconds and crashes. So I'm gonna go jump off a bridge now. Thanks, anyway.
