  1. If you have crash on the bridge double check your NVSE plugins, double check your load order, because it should not crash at all here and do not crash for others either.
  2. 1) You cannot join the legion unless your character has good reputation with them 2) Crusader can be join very early when you reach Frontier 3) No, when you play another character nothing you will loot will be added to your player inventory.
  3. Not yet, we are fixing more stuff and recreating the missing contents. Torrent will be available when content will be finalized.
  4. Going the Crusader path, you can choose or not to ally with the different factions :)
  5. Background check makes it sound much more then what was needed, he was posting the questionable content under the same name he used when working on The Frontier, all that would have to be done was a google search of his name. *does exactly that* EDIT: yes, I turned Safe Search off for this experiment. Oh hey look. Even with the recent explosive scandal, doing a search on "Zu the Skunk" and checking the image list results in one clean image by Zu and tons of images of skunks and weed. Of course, I'm using DuckDuckGo here, which includes Google results but also many other search engines and is often more comprehensive as a result. If I ONLY look for "Zu", I get photos of Dutch people with "zu" in their name, the Soviet ZU-23 anti-aircraft gun, the Pug-Zu dog breed, toys from the "Heroes of Goo Jit Zu" line, stereo cabinets, and absolutely nothing by Zu the Skunk. Checking "Zu the Skunk" in the site listing likewise provides zero content about pedo material - EXCEPT for articles generated by the post-launch scandal. Most of the top results are about actual skunks. In short, "Zu the Skunk" wasn't a unique enough search descriptor to guarantee discovery of the problem even had what you're asking for been done. Perhaps you can come up with a background-check regimen that would not only find objectionable content by Zu, but also by anyone else who might be called upon to contribute to a future mod project? As you say, nothing "problematic" can be found with a search. Obviously this kind of content is never public, but hidden behind private servers. (those who found it had to register on an obscure private server) Drawing "my little pony" is not in-fine problematic content. So no there was no extra background check for him, for no one in fact. When he asked to join in, we checked all his nexus mods first and everything was top quality. I also want to say that everything Zu provided for the mod is clean, non questionnable and top quality content. We could never imagine that before. And personnaly it was a pain for me to remove his 900 icons from the mod. But no choice, this had to be done. For sure now we will double check everyone who want to join the team, especially if they use "my little pony" or "my little licorn" kind of avatar profile ^^ ...
  6. You need to regenerate Objects blocks lod. (LODgen is perfect for this) Lod is not changed directly when moving or removing objects in GECK. It's a separated process which generate LOD quadran by quadran (4 cells) this create .nif files of the LOD block per block. Sadly all lod blocks must be regenerated. You previously must remove the files from data/meshes/landscape/lod/<worldspacename>/blocks/

And if you read more of the things i said here in this thread, you could perhaps understand that i'm not in favor of Paid mods, i'm also a mod user, so paid mods will bother me too. (but i'm pretty sure this will happen again). I'm in favor of a similar concept than youtube ads payment, here ,on Nexus for mods. To have free mods and some sort of "retribution" to modders and stick them here. But nobody's care, even if mods can stay free this way. So let's stay like we are, do not move a little finger, and just wait to be eaten by the big fish. If that's your only solution, great. The choice about paid mods or not is not in our hands, this is coming and either some solutions will have to be found, either site like this one will DIE. And rants over modders is not the solution. So i'm done speaking with people who's sight is so low they don't even understand what's going on in this industry.

And the only ones who are not allowed to take a place in this market are the modders themselves. that's what i call irony.

But, if mods can be sold (and we saw there is a market), this will attract also professionals to this "specific niche". Many indy dev, small companies and semi-pro teams can be interested in creating mods for an existing game, benefit from it's reputation, add new content, stories or gameplay, all this would be easier than creating whole games from scratch and trying to sell them without a proper communication budget. Ofc there will also be crappy mods, but almost nobody's would buy/rate them (like bad mobile apps) We can decently imagine the general quality level will increase.

  12. In response to post #28696634. And nothing for the 26th ?...:) From those patreon website or similar It shows that donations are going more toward expected projects (people donate because they want the project to be finalized or want to support "something cool to come") They donate more for something they do not have in their hands (or computer) than donate for something they already have...( like a free mod ) technically speaking there are also other possibilities to look at. For example in the software/shareware principles. Free access to the soft/mod, but either a reminder (you've been using this soft for XX month please consider a donation) or a limited access to all features like a software demo. So people can use it at full capacities, test it and see if they "really" need it. And only after a certain amount of time some donation or money could be asked. But this is limiting and not very fun. I've some days ago asked for a Ads payment system for mods, here on Nexus. (Similar to Youtube adsense ads, where the money goes to the youtuber) So far Dark0ne reply telling me : It would cost money to put this in place on the website...and modders will not earn a lot...err.. well, it should be more studied in my opinion (let's do some maths), but they will for sure make more money than currently. And this is 100% legal as the mod is still free and payment is not directly linked to the mod itself. Payments would also be in correlation with popularity (pages views - ads clicks and views) and mods 100% free for everyone. Donations could still be used (or improved?) but i think it's the most unused button on this site ^^ Of course ads are annoying, but at least the content is completely free. The biggest internet companies are all making fortunes with ads and give access to content for free (think google services or facebook) and here too, 99% incomes of nexus sites are from ads, contents are ..ofc free. So when looking elsewhere we can see : it works. Only Really appreciated/used/endorsed mods can earn some money (the ones which deserve it).The little under-endorsed mod will not obvisously. We all must understand that paid mods are coming, either we like it or not. I'd prefer mods to stay free, a middle way to find ? but the decisions are not ours, once it will be here, for sure 90% of "big" mods will be paid mods. Modding will no more just be a "hobby" but real independent & paid work (for the best ones obv). There is a large amount of cash to be made with this and big gaming companies are currently just looking to find the good way to make new revenues. (Mods going to consoles is for sure the first step in this direction, toward a public used to pay for any little bit of code provided, people far less reluctant to jump in the paid mod train, further more because it's new for them) BTW I always find fun how people against paid mod are all for some "donation" system and nothing else. Well they probably also expect "the others" will donate ... ^^

"We’re especially excited these same mods will then be coming to Xbox One, and then PlayStation 4." Weird...Is it me or i see here a "Bethesda controlled" mods store? I'm not a console user, so who can explain me How these mods will be Downloaded, installed and managed on a console ?? So far each console has his own included store (playstationstore, xbox store) does this mean mods will ONLY be downloaded from thoses stores ? A step before paid mods ? And what about the nexus ? can it be possible to make a nexus for consoles ??
