NPC Schedule Time Lag
LenaWolfBravil replied to ArtemSHikoff's topic in Oblivion's Oblivion Construction Set and Modders
"Energy" was what I was going to suggest as this has the greatest impact. But the game does not process all AI packages at the same time because it does everything in sequence, so if you have other heavy scripts, they may be delaying processing of AI packages. Besides that, not all actors are being processed all the time, that would certainly kill the game. See this Wiki link about scheduling of script processing. I found it also applies to AI. If you want your NPC to be very punctual, make him/her a quest item (tick "Quest Item" box in the NPC window). There is still no guarantee of absolute punctuality, but it should improve it. There is simply no guarantee that a certain actor will reach a certain point at a particular time. If this is important, use "moveto" from a script to put that actor there when it's needed. In addition, NPCs may be delayed if they engage in "fallout behaviour" such as stopping to chat with other NPCs. Tick "No fallout behaviour" on the travel package that brings the NPC to the final destination. -
That's what I meant - they were scraped from the other site, as far as I can tell.

User Profile and Direct Messaging Improvements Beta
LenaWolfBravil replied to JustThatKing's topic in Site Updates
So "My Content" (called "My Mods" from the ribbon menu on the mods site, by the way) is the place for mod authors to manage their content. Ok. Then I still don't see the point of having deleted mods listed on the profile, since they cannot be undeleted. My question about "My Content"/"My Mods" page was rather about the layout. Is it going to follow the same layout as the profile? Or is it going to be completely different? Because if it is going to be based on the profile, then it is important to get the profile right also for your own pages, not just for other people's pages. -

It's not about the other users - I understand that they cannot see it. It is about providing mod authors with tools to manage their content. Will the profile page eventually replace current "My Mods" page? Or are you planning a completely different page for "My Mods"? -

Please remove deleted mods from the profile. I deleted them so that I would not have to be bothered with them! Especially since there is no way to undelete them. What's the point in having them there? Hidden and unpublished mods are of course completely different - those CAN be made public. -
Some people just want to play the game. The don't want to bother with mods. Or they play on consoles where modding is not even possible. There are many reasons not to mod your game. Avoiding crashes is one of the best reasons I know.

@JediMasterTallyn - well said. A difference in definition. The reason I add things to Oblivion is because I prefer to play Oblivion rather than game XYZ, and so if I like the story, I bring it to Oblivion. I do it not because I dislike Oblivion the way it is. I do it because I like it so much. Especially after I looked at many mods and threw them all in the bin. Vanilla wins with me every time.

Yes, that would be me. Oblivion. I make mods, yes. But I don't change anything in what already exists, I add new lands. You asked a question but in fact you don't want to hear the answer.

Yes, really. Some of us actually enjoy Bethesda games in vanilla. Why is it so hard to believe? Tastes differ.

No, it's not about the CS versus CSE, it's about functions and OBSE events. I wanted to make corrections as well but couldn't create an account. Of course now I no longer remember the details, but one area of concern was around ModActorValue and related functions. Some of the descriptions are incorrect. Another area is inventory handling - stacks of items. It may also be that OBSE was changed in the meantime, they've been attempting to fix the same bug in this area for the past three releases or so, just check the changelog. Similarly, I found that some of the events are not fully described as you could not write a handler based solely on that. Again, this is new stuff and no one could update it.
