  1. Please cut these 'they should have' to 'I wish they had'. I feel really sick when angry customers start complaining that way. In my company, staffs stop reading such messages when those words show up. No one is entitled person to decide what the product will be unless you are the person in charge. If you ask me, I wish they had not included the settlements at all so they could spend resources to elsewhere I want. But that's one hell of complaint so I will just say I hope they won't do that next time.
  2. I think it's overpowered .45 combat rifle without any expense. But since the weapon is mostly found at Far Harbor, it quickly becomes outdated by better legendary weapons.
  3. Of course there will be some goodies since the settlements is an integral part of the game. But to the extent avid fans want, the company won't need to cater their needs since it is self-sufficient by modding. The company has provided a modding tool for that. It's a good system.
  4. - Engineering support from NVIDIA (80 hours total which must be redeemed up to 1 year after winners are announced on July 25, NVIDIA to determine schedule) - $8000 So this engineering support will get the havok software and equip themselves with the knowledge and spend extra 80 hours on creating non existing animations for you? That's priceless.
  5. It usually works in one direction. Extra contents can be canceled by unexpected events including negative impact on sales. But success in sales, including advance purchase, does not prolong the schedule. I know few cases but mostly they were made in marketing movement. If they got more money from Season Pass, the money likely goes elsewhere; hopefully to development part but unlikely to improve DLC quality.
  6. My hat's off to your thoughtful thought. Some users really need to stop poking other users no matter what platform or what site he think he's belong to. It only distracts people from current situation and make the community look like a troll cave which make it only appeal to other trolls. This kind of customer actions generate public opinion. If Beth is legally well protected, this is the second best chance to bring them into mod theft issue. But to do so, one needs to focus on the case. This Nvidia contest case seems to be a good spot. My hat's off to GeneralLuBu.
  7. No, a lot of mod makers were actually really against the system. More were against it then in favor of it. That's actually not true. Opposition was a small minority. Plenty of modders were in favor, most simply said nothing and were waiting for their chance to get in. Damn I missed whole scene...
  8. Given Bethesda's past history I think your faith in Bethesda to get this "sorted out" is misplaced. Beth has gotten increasingly worse at leaving things undone or taking an ungodly amount of time to fix something if they do indeed fix it. Here is my guess, they got swamped with technical issues on the site programming. Perhaps understaffed in that department. But I am confident they will sort it out eventually. Now they could have waited until they had more support staff ready to sort out claims of who stole what. But would you rather have the creation kit delayed by months because of that? You mean, the company is like a kindergarten? That doesn't make any sense. If that's true, you should not be too confident for the company in that bizarre state. Internet crowd are already making fun of their incompetence but I don't think that's true. Even one man moderation is capable enough to handle certain amount of stuffs in given time. More like they are reluctantly doing the job. They brought DMCA announcement due to public pressure and initially showed some effort. And after the pressure withered away they are slow again. I think it's important to separate "ROFL GOODJOB YOU SUCK" from reasoning why they are not doing the job. Yeah, it will eventually be sorted out. The pace of users adapting to the environment will come sooner though. Intentionally or not. I don't know.
  9. My stance is pointing out. I have been three years of the field and came back Nexus last month. I got my expertise. But I won't provide single modding content at this circumstance. So let's talk about DD instead. He makes loud vocal actions against bethesda.net just like you. And yet he provides mods to the bethesda.net. If he doesn't, one of his haters will upload his mod anyway so no difference to the net. After five years at this rate, bethesda.net will still be in tremendous success and he will still making mods for them. That's the structure you are in. Period. If you really want to force them to do some actions, you must do actions than just complaining about them doing nothing for you because you are doing nothing. To do some actions, for example, 1) you must organize the people, 2) you find the expert in peculiar fields, 3) you find possible measures, 4) after that you contact L0rd0fWar, cheer him and persuade him you can win this, 5) tedious fight against the company begins. But rather +1100 replies on the site owner's message has shown one fact; a portion has a sympathy but no one will afford the action. Most modders take this as a hobby. So they will take it just as the company offers. Many are rather in joy distributing mods to the large mass in the net. You are the one making them uncomfortable, saying they are bending over to the net. You are the one losing because you are the one angry loose customer. That's ok. I think people understand that. Because I really understand you.
  10. Good point. That's why user-base and customer-base are in separate cases. User oriented sites like Nexus and DeviantArt were built on the trust, or let's say the consensus or the belief. While customer-base say same things to customers, the reality has proven thousands times they are not inclined to. They barely meet legal responsibility only when needed in most cases. We already have the answer. bethesda.net has been avoided solving theft problems for months. Would you blindly expect they will magically change after all these months? Perhaps they will offer the promise of better theft management right before announcing next titles. That time hasn't come yet. So yes, I say the same thing. Blame bethesda.net if you want. But don't blame users including modders who are using the site. Regarding that 'war', it's not surprising to see guys like Bully1969 are avidly expressing hatred to the net and 'betrayers' at the same time haven't made a reply when L0rd0fWar just showed up and expressed his feeling. Trolls are trolls because of the temper. That's why this "console vs pc war" is nerdy as s*** from both sides. Hopefully they will get bored at some point and will move onto next targets.
  11. This is peculiarly a good point. I will add more details about the expectation. What they want from modders regarding paid model system is console user friendly. Clampack will be the most encouraged type since it unloads burdens and issues from user side. It is necessary for successful console environment. While individuals can self-provide own mods collection(already they are being persecuted by console users to create all-in-one even more than before since the net), team projects like Nevada will be the preferred stock for paying. Companies make such movements in the basis of optimistic prospect. If they focus more on demerits like pessimistic users, they become lukewarm to the changes and that's the point companies start to slip on. Even there's a risk, they are only allowed to venture forward. bethesda.net is concluded as a success as it has boosted s*** ton of console customers with positive reviews. In their brightest vision of paid mod, modders will start organizing themselves more than kickstarter and turn it into self venture of DLC leveled contents. Of course not everyone share the same prospect. Some will prefer free modding. Some do not agree this is a win-win relationship and will refuse to be exploited by the company. And many users will seek their own way to pirate paid mods. That's the point paid modders will voluntarily request for consolidating mod environment to game engine itself. Monopoly is not the exact word to call it. Still, even insiders won't be sure about paid mod concept. But when it comes, users are not in the negotiable position to interfere company's policy. That's why I didn't bother to read initial Wishlist posts. The present discussion is a lot more interesting thanks to guys. It's fun reading.
  12. Well, it normally goes in [interface] section. This template might be useful. The number is minimum amount. If you put 50, the confirmation will only appear when more than 50 items are inside the container.
  13. It can be disabled via ini files. Google 'uConfirmContainerTakeAllMinimumItems'.
  14. If they "don't want to be involved" then they have no business running a forum in 2016. Site moderation isn't something that is optional, it's required. Mod theft sure as hell IS a responsibility of Bethesda's, when it's hosted on THEIR OWN SITE. By your "logic" one could host a forum and file sharing site, and when the Fed's come knocking on your door for illegally hosted content placed there by your users a "Hey I only own the site", won't keep you from being taken away in handcuffs. I am not sure about the legal part. Some experts might be able to investigate. But as I heard, the modder can go lawsuit on the thief regarding stolen mods but cannot go on the company. If that's true, you can say in a way that they don't have responsibility at all. Even if they have, the company can easily avoid it by several ways. And must be prepared with fine lawyers. If you cannot win the laws, likely companies don't care after-services as usual. You know the drill. Mod theft is not something new by the way. There have been s*** ton of mod theft already from other hosting sites before bethesda.net. Actions were rarely made. Nexus rules have no function outside Nexus. You cannot expect vigilantism in outerspace. People are their own. I guess that's why many modders decided to upload at bethesda.net to prevent potential harms; instead of idly waiting something to be changed.
  15. Well, those bethesda.net moderators are mere tool of the system just as modders are(and free). Both are being treated as expendable resources. Bashing part time workers do no harm to the MacDonald. The company has gross profit like a shitstorm anyway. But still, those actions have a function of satisfying sadistic desire from customer parts. If you have an urge, can't argue with that.
