  1. This is the first teaser trailer for our team's upcoming DLC-sized quest mod, E Pluribus Unum. Tie up some loose ends from Fallout 3, discover what the Lone Wanderer has been up to for the past decade, and tip the balance between two nations on the brink of war. Oh, and someone's been stealing a lot of wastelanders' brains. You should probably look into that. EPU will be released episodically. Chapter One, in which you accompany a familiar face on a salvage mission to the bottom of the ocean, has a release date of December 2017.
  2. The first chapter of our episodic quest mod "E Pluribus Unum" is nearing release, and as such we're looking for voice talent. In particular, actors and actresses who can imitate the voices of several recurring characters from Fallout 3 would be very helpful - but of course there are plenty of original characters to be voiced as well. For this first chapter, only two roles are left unfilled: FO3's Sydney and a stern Brotherhood paladin (male). Subsequent chapters will include the following recurring FO3 characters (or at least holotape recordings of their voice): Moira BrownThree DogSarah LyonsFawkesButchReillyNovaGobRedAmataHaroldThe same person might be able to cover several names on this list, in true Bethesda fashion. Even if you can't impersonate any of these characters, please feel free to send a sample my way - there may be an original character in later chapters you'd be able to voice.
  3. I couldn't send a message so I'll just leave this here: So I just downloaded your power armor autopilot mod (of which I am obliged, per social convention, to extend my thanks and and extend a statement of appreciation and praise for this modification), and saw in the description that you were planning on adding voice acting in the future. Now recently I have taken a bit of an interest in voice acting and although I have no real experience in the field, I still want to provide my voice...
  4. I am flabbergasted that this hasn't been getting more attention. A working Papyrus compiler opens up enormous new horizons for pre-Creation Kit modding. Even something as simple as Power Armor Delivery would have been impossible without it.
  5. Yeah, Sarah's death just seemed so... underwhelming. I can understand why Bethesda killed her off from a story perspective - the BoS would never have regressed with her at the helm - but such an iconic character deserved more than a one-line terminal entry. Makes you think those historians had something to hide...
  6. Perhaps because they are a thinly-veiled allegory for how dangerously alluring the combination of totalitarianism and a cult of personality can be? Don't get me wrong, I love how morally ambiguous the factions are in FO4 and certainly don't miss FO3's boringly-good Brotherhood, but it's a little unnerving to see so many players miss the point and wholeheartedly embrace this particular faction. In any case, the schism between the Lone Wanderer and the newly-reoriented Brotherhood forms an important part of EPU's backstory, and it wouldn't make sense for them to work together with a Sole Survivor who took the BoS route.
  7. See the design document. Long story short, the protagonist ends up with an unwanted brain chip and must use their Pip-Boy's countermeasure software to fight off attempts at controlling them in virtual reality. Hostile programs drop memory blocks when defeated, which can be crafted into virtual weapons and armor. Most of the art assets we need are already in Fallout 4 (for example, the Saugus Ironworks props cover most of what would be needed for an industrial area). Everything else, including returning items, will be re-made by our modelers. A straight import would be jarringly ugly considering the generation gap between the engines.Actually, that part is already done - my old program can read the LW's stats directly from your save file. Converting the old skill-and-perk format to FO4's mechanics should be relatively trivial. The difficult part will be converting facial geometry.See the design document. The population is almost entirely tribal, but not played for laughs like the cartoonish swampfolk of Point Lookout. Depending on choices the player makes, at least one tribe will be consistently hostile.See three entries above. We only currently have a female voice actress. While she does not have a substantial public portfolio, I intend to post a few samples for public comment.
  8. Design Document: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1uP-XNsnDRpMWFBQ0syd1FieDQ/view?usp=sharing Document updated 12/31/2015 Post updated 1/1/2016 The Basics A hero in exile. A thriving nation forged from the toxic hell of the Pitt. A new ally for the Commonwealth, perhaps. But after a simple scavving mission goes awry, the Lone Wanderer and Sole Survivor must stand together against a threat like nothing they have faced before. Welcome to E Pluribus Unum - an ambitious quest mod aimed at connecting the stories of Fallout 3 and 4. EPU is intended as a post-main-quest experience for characters who did not side with the Brotherhood of Steel. Over the course of the mod, the player ventures into the Pitt, traverses subterranean tunnels and the Appalachian Mountains, and pursues a terrifying hive intelligence into the depths of Vault 84. Along the way they will learn the tragic story of a civil war that gripped the Capital Wasteland, meet many familiar faces who joined the Lone Wanderer's exodus to found a new nation, and take on sidequests with multiple resolutions. And of course there are plenty of new perks and items: suit up in Hellfire Power Armor, grow plants from enemies' still-living bodies with the Propagator, or read several new issues of the Wasteland Survival Guide. Features include: Discover the tragic aftermath of Fallout 3's events, and the Lone Wanderer's determination to rise from the ashes Enter the Pitt, a major hub city, many of whose citizens are returning characters from Fallout 3 with their own sidequests. Explore the Appalachian Mountains: a no-man's-land between the Pitt and the Brotherhood-occupied Capital Wasteland. This location is its own worldspace with plenty of interesting sites to discover. Six main quests and twelve sidequests, many of which have alternative resolutions available depending on the player's perk choices and playstyle New weapons and armor, including old favorites like the Tesla Cannon, Auto Axe, 10mm SMG, and Hellfire Power Armor Nine new perks unlocked through magazines or quests Combat missions in cyberspace; recycle enemy programs into virtual weapons and armor with the aid of your Pip-Boy's software Freely travel between the Commonwealth and the new areas after completing the main quest Bigfoot. Well, sort of... Project Status The first public release of the EPU design document has gone live, and I would very much appreciate community feedback. We aim to work out any possible lore inconsistencies and optimize the design before the Creation Kit drops and my team starts work in earnest. At the moment the team has sufficient scripters and level designers; we are currently seeking additional modelers, texture artists, and voice actors/actresses. In particular the role of a male Lone Wanderer is still open (we do have an actress for the female LW). Stretch goals Way back in the day I wrote a Fallout 3 save importer which read the Lone Wanderer's stats, quest choices, and facial geometry and spat out an NPC companion for New Vegas. Due to the shift from FaceGen to a proprietary facial geometry in newer Bethesda titles, this may prove difficult to update, but FaceGen is well-documented enough that I intend to try mapping its values to the various adjustable face parts in FO4. (You'll still be able to make tweaks to the Lone Wanderer's face, but the importer should give you a good base to work off of). In any case, if you don't have an FO3 save file or don't want to use it, you can still create your Lone Wanderer manually.
  9. I have recently discovered a technique for successfully exporting paired animations from 3DS Max (and likely Blender as well). Please see my tutorial on the Nexus for more information. At the moment this technique is limited to replacers for vanilla paired animations, but fore is aware of this development and is working on adding support for new paired animations to FNIS.
  10. Hunting with the Pride is intended to be a continuation of Fallout 3's story, post-Broken Steel. The Lone Wanderer is given the opportunity to accompany the Lyons Pride on what seems like an ordinary mission - demolish some rubble to clear a path deeper into the DC ruins to see what can be salvaged from the remains of the Infinitek corporation - which quickly turns into a fight for survival as an unexpected number of Super Mutants pour out of the unexplored regions of DC. Now the player must help the Pride track the mutants to their new source of FEV and end the threat once and for all. Interwoven with the episodic missions of this mod is an opportunity to get to know Sarah Lyons and possibly become romantically entangled - which makes the final mission that much more painful... Features: -Five episodic missions with the Brotherhood of Steel, ranging from protecting a demolitions crew to launching an all-out assault on a mutant-occupied hospital -Optional romance with Sarah Lyons, who becomes a player companion at the end of the storyline if she survives the finale -Ties up loose plot ends; in-game evidence seems to imply that the Super Mutants are looking for another source of FEV in DC since they're almost out of "green stuff" in Vault 87 -Consequences to player decisions, including the deaths of Lyons Pride members -At least six new weapons and three new pieces of armor -A climactic finale in which the Lone Wanderer must race to recover working surgical equipment from a mutant-occupied hospital to save her dying commander... and only then take on the source of the mutant hordes -Two boss fights - a rooftop battle against the biggest Behemoth yet in which the Lone Wanderer gets the chance to repair and use a pre-War anti-aircraft turret - and a climactic encounter with the computer responsible for this mess, in which the Wanderer must find and destroy the power supplies of its protective force fields while fighting off an endless tide of mutants -Post-ending gameplay showing progress in rebuilding the Capital Wasteland; the Brotherhood has acquired some manufacturing capability from the Infinitek ruins, and the player may use the corporation's Rapid Prototyping Engine once per day to construct items from scrap metal I've wanted to produce a mod like this since the release of Broken Steel, but I can't do it alone; the current design document calls for a new worldspace, seven new interiors (all fairly large), new models for equipment and one enemy, hundreds of lines of dialog, and a number of other time-consuming things. I am currently interested in recruiting a competent modeler and at least one level designer who is willing to build the worldspaces and interiors in the GECK. I would also appreciate the services of anyone who knows how to splice existing voice into new lines. I already have completed a design document for the project outlining missions, areas, player decisions, and the like and am currently working on the dialog. I will handle the mod's scripting. If you are interested in contributing and have the necessary skills, please post in this topic or PM me. If you'd like to see a sample of my previous work, try the horror-themed quest Devoured in Darkness and the needs/injuries mod Survival of the Fittest. Please do not sign up for this project if you're unwilling to commit.
