  1. I'd move to Nevada, because I doubt any reptile that can somehow thrive in sub zero temperatures could also somehow survive in a desert.
  2. Volumetric lighting can easily be implemented via post processing by any competent with HLSL. The only issue is post proccessed volumetric lighting tends to be fairly resource intensive in dx9.
  3. I'm not sure where you've gotten the idea that I'm somehow depressed, or self loathing, or a fanboy who's overplayed the game. Then again, your first sentence was a grammatical travesty, so I'm really not sure what you meant. Also not sure how I could keep playing, seeing as I haven't touched it in since a week after release. What I did ask for however, was for insight into what people find enjoyable about Skyrim. I personally got bored with it rather quickly, leaving the rather large possibility there were rather enjoyable bits I hadn't seen. Seeing as your being rather offensive about this all, I would assume you have been playing for the last three months straight, and would welcome any insight you may have.
  4. Lanceor: I do agree that Skyrim does have some nice scenery. I don't really appreciate coming across yet another EPIC MOUNTAIN as I try to do fetch quest #30 from generic town #5 though. As for combat, it's better than past TES games, and I'll leave it at that. Pavy: I've been playing other stuff since November 18th. It's been working out rather well. Werne: Yep, those are actually both two good things :D. Janus: Beth seems to be giving modders a bit of extra love, they are taking far too long though. There is still ofcourse, the question of it it's even ethical for Beth to leave as much up to modders as they do. stars2heaven: I can find lots of lists of what people don't like about Skyrim, I can also make a pretty decent list myself (and will if you really want). I've also worked on three rather sucessful FNV mods, so I have a good idea of what the CK will be able to do. What I don't have is a very large of list of what is good about the game, things that would encourage me to mod. As is, I'm seeing modding as a way to make the game enjoyable, where it should be a means to make the game more enjoyable. thesapien: Actually, it's a fairly decent forum for it. While it may have it's share of Beth fanboiz, it also has a good deal of modders who actually pay attention to the game they're playing (something reviewers don't seem to do anymore).
  5. With the CK due to be out in the next week to three months, I've decided it's time to give Skyrim another shot. I can't muster up the ambition to start it up though, because I'm left with horrible memories of bland repetitive dribble. So in hopes of some sort of motivational slap to the face (or calming whispers that I'm not jaded by memories of instantly enjoyable games), I've decided to ask the Nexus. So Nexus, I ask you, what actually is good about Skyrim?
  6. WJS and I have fought with alpha quite a bit, and have decide there's only really three practical solutions. 1: Redesign things to avoid having multiple overlapping alphas. 2: If the alpha is to save on absurd poly count (like grass or something), an alpha setting of 4844 (binary alpha) will allow rendering to work normally. You'll want to play with the threshold to get things as smooth as possible. 3: Kinda painful, but simply cutting the outer alpha into multiple nitrishapes/strips will reduce the number of angles where the inner alpha won't render. You can find proof of layered alpha rendering on the Q-35, look at it from the front then behind, one side renders but the other doesn't for some reason.
  7. I wouldn't say best, but I'm gonna have to go with scoped Recharger Rifle. Not amazing, but near the start of the game it becomes an incredibly reliable way of getting things done, for cheap.
  8. Gave it a quick look over, and I am impressed. I would imagine it'll become a staple for anyone using WME or WMX extensively. One issue I have with it currently is the description for the increase zoom mods. As they're usually scopes, a percentage value seems a bit misleading. If it's possible, I personally would rather just see the description from the weapon mod in this case. Assuming their written in the same manor as vanilla, and the zoom increase value was figured out, "Adds a long-range scope." would give me a better idea what to expect then the percentage.
  9. Not quite sure exactly what would be causing the issue, but this: [X] Weapon Mod Expansion.esp [X] WME - FOOK.esp [X] WME - Dead Money.esp [X] WME - Dead Money Arenovalis Retex.esp [X] WME - Honest Hearts.esp [X] WME - Honest Hearts Arenovalis.esp [X] WME - FOOK DLCs.esp Can be turned into this: [X] WME - FOOK.esp [X] WME - FOOK DLCs.esp Without losing anything, and may somehow fix your problem.
  10. Hey. I saw your comment about the Murderizer, that you have added Ironsights. COuld you maybe send me your mod? :)
  11. It might just be WME - Dead Money.esp actually. Made it in FNVedit and missed a master by accident, still works fine in game though. Actually, with your load order, you shouldn't have anything conflicting with WME - Dead Money.esm anyways, the .esp is more to sort out your load order while still taking advantage of using an .esm.
  12. Crashing when mousing over a modded weapon sounds like load order to me.
  13. Try hotkeying your weapon, and switching to it oustide of the pipboy.
  14. Not so much a direct request, but a help request. While trying to figure out what to do with rogues, I had a neat idea that is far beyond my ability to make. The idea is uhhh, Disarming shot? I don't know, haven't thought about a good name yet, but basically a shot that disarms traps. Tooltips etc I can do fine, just the scripting part that gets me, if anyone knows enough to script it I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
  15. My classes revamped mod does this a tiny bit for arcane warriors. If you wanted I could do up a mod for you, no guarentees that everything would work, since I'm still figuring out what I'm doin. I might write up a tutorial or something once I've figured out what I can/can't do via my methods.
