  1. I mistyped the name of a dependant file when cleaning entries to my mod, I didn't put a space where one was needed, as such I can no longer open the plugin in FO4edit and change the issue as I get an error message when I try to amend the masterlist... How can I change the master list if I can't open the plugin?? PS - I renamed the other plugin and it opened... so I fixed it... delete this haha SO ANNOYING. The load order changed and put the master below the the plugin so at first, renaming the plugin didn't work.....
  2. This has happened before but I cannot remember how I fixed it. I've been searching for a while and I can't find anything on how to fix this, probably because I find it difficult to describe properly. The horizon on the sea is visible and it looks awful. I can see where the sea ends in the game, resulting in a horrible square horizon. I can't explain this well at all, I found a screenshot of someone else with the same problem, the people on the forum he posted this on didn't see the issue at all. http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/scale_super/2/25997/2363258-2012_08_16_00001.jpg Any ideas on how to fix this? What is it called? You can see a square line around the entire map where the game stops rendering the sea, and I know it doesn't usually look like this The only graphics mod I have installed is realistic lighting overhaul, disabling this doesn't have an effect on the horizon.
  3. I would like to contribute by maybe creating some scary ambient soundscape music tracks you can assign to cells or however it actually works. Let me know if your interested.
  4. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/20089/? This is an early incomplete version, many tracks are subject to change, and there are more tracks on the way.
  5. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54916/? This is an early incomplete version, many tracks are subject to change, and there are more tracks on the way. However, I need help editing the files that play between tracks, like the piano and violin themes. Could anyone help me out or direct me to somewhere I could get information regarding this?
  6. Thank you for showing interest. I've scrapped all of the tracks and I have decided to ditch the cheesy-retro sci-fi route, I didn't feel that they fit and most of the tracks were old unused ones from various project that I already had. I'm starting from scratch. making the tracks New Vegas compatible as well. I'm going for an electronic-industrial vibe, because I would really like that on my fallout games. Working title : Digital Nightmare - Industrial Music Replacer I have 5 Dungeon tracks (with low med and high threat versions for NV) And 5 battle tracks (with additional percussion only versions) I managed to do with in only 5 days, insomnia can be a blessing and a curse! So far: https://soundcloud.com/neptuneuk/sets/fallout-music-project
  7. I've begun recording my own soundtrack for vegas to bring a about a slightly different atmosphere, but I need a little information on the music. I've been wanting to do this for a while, I see that due to the nature of the vegas music engine there is a disturbing lack of music mods for vegas, which is a shame because after putting hundreds of hours into the game, the music gets a bit samey despite having a great soundtrack! It's difficult to simply slot custom music tracks into the existing files to still get a good smooth music flow in the game so I am creating my own original soundtrack from scratch, because I really want to (despite the monstrous task this is) 1) I need to confirm the dungeon track meanings for low mid and high. I assume they refer to threat level, I have recorded 4 out of the possible 8 dungeon soundscapes so far (12 different tracks) As for public locations, for example, caesers legion there is low mid and high for day and low mid and high tracks for night, as they all sound quite similar anyway... what do these refer to? 2) I need changing the sound that plays when combat begins etc, I understand there must be some way to find the files in the GECK, however is there a file that can be placed in the music directory to overwrite the existing sound? For example if you change the UI and VATS sound effects. How do I find this directory?
  8. www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/20060/ I have just finished putting together what I may loosely call a 'sci-fi-esque' style music mod for FO3. I intend to relay a different atmosphere to the vanilla game and hopefully something a little different to other music mods. I have no less than 46 different music tracks all composed by myself, consisting of base, battle, dungeon, explore, public tracks and a main title theme. Despite being a musician, I'm not particularly adept at describing music nor do I consider myself good at conveying information through the medium of text. I wanted to give Fallout a completely different soundtrack/ambiance, designed with the high-tech, energy weapons player in mind who probably uses a monster mod or something. And most of all I wanted the exploration tracks to sound quite spacey and science fiction-ey by giving retro inspired synths a modern edge. I would like help with regards to : 1) Do the tracks play correctly for other people? 2) Are there any major volume inconsistencies? 3) Is there any point creating a FOMOD package for just a collection of audio or will the mod manager happily install something like this via a normal archive 4) Are all the tracks complete garbage and is this a waste of effort? 5) I would like help naming/describing the mod positively.. Stargazer Music Replacer? www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/20060/
  9. You're going to have to find and remove the mod that made everything French.
  10. SOLVED : The one thing I forgot to do was install the 4gb enabler for FO:NV. Installing this seems to have solved all of my issues. I don't know how or why though.
  11. Right Ok here's the short(not really) version. I've recently re-installed FO:NV a couple of days ago. I'm not a complete noob when it comes to modding, I've used mods on Oblivion, FO3 and Skyrim etc. Last time I played New Vegas I had a metric-f***-ton of mods installed yet it somehow managed to work alright. This time round, however, I didn't try to go overboard. All I want to do is figure out how to get these mods working without the game crashing every 20 minutes, it happens when moving around outdoors and occasionally when entering buildings. Something I've noticed: I can play the game fine for around half an hour or so (depending on how far I move) after this, I either crash or start to see black missing textures on various objects. I then have to quit, re-invalidate archive and then load up again. Everything works alright again for around 30 mins then BANG same thing all over again. Mods I'm trying to use : Project Nevada EVE Nevada Skies WMX Electro-City New Vegas Uncut (except open freeside) A World Of Pain MTUI and FNV enhanced Shaders I've reinstalled the game about 4 times the past few days, tried various load orders, checked NVSE version, tried a couple of individual mods by themselves, disabled steam community, disabled steam updates, re-invalidating archives, changed the graphics settings, verifying integrity of steam cache then reinstalling, praying to pagan gods, human sacrifice, I've tried everything!! Now this is not the first time mods have caused me problems, it always happens, It happened last time, and with FO3, Skyrim and Oblivion etc. Usually after a few hours or so of tinkering with load orders and checking for clashing mods I have everything sussed out and everything works. I've been bashing my head against the keyboard with this for several days now. I feel like I'm missing something basic that's just screwing everything up. My system : Win7 8GB, Phenom Hex 3.2, GTX 570SLI blah edit: I've just noticed that steam keeps enabling auto-updates for FO:NV even though I disabled it, if this is causing the issues, how can I permanently disable it? edit2: I've uninstalled most mods (via nexus mod manager) except Project Nevada, now the game will not start.... It looks like I'm going to have to reinstall the game again for a 5th time... then all of the mods again, and then tomorrow I'll have to do the same thing again. I feel like I'm going round in circles, as soon as the game is working alright it seems to somehow break itself.
  12. I can't enter the REPCONN facility (or most other buildings) When I do I get a fallout has stopped responding error from windows. I've been plagued with constant stupid problems since I reinstalled and started playing FONV again. They don't seem to be mod related either. I have a fresh install of windows and some new hardware etc etc. I first had a low-fi texture problem, then awful performance issues, and now I get a CTD when entering certain buildings. I have tried everything. Uninstalling the game, reinstalling. Changing video drivers. Removing all mods. Adding MORE mods. Disabling features. Turning settings up. Turning them down. Disabling autosave.... it goes on. Whatever I try I can't get the game to work properly at all. What really irritates me however, is that no less than 3 months ago I could play new vegas flawlessly on a lower end system with about 40 or so mods. I'm now ridding myself of ALL mods and DLC and I can't enter various interior buildings without the game crashing. Please help, where do I start to look to fix this problem???
  13. I Actually have one of these, and have a note to add that may be of interest: The USSR issued 2 types of these, one white (for civilian use) and a black version (for military use) This looks great so far!
  14. Good idea. I don't know myself and haven't seen any mods that change this but I would be interested. Anyone?
