  1. I had looked at this one a few years back. I see it has been updated since then and is similar, so I'll check it out again. Thanks
  2. This is an idea for some ambitious person(s). The second part deals with the Black-Briars and perhaps should be a separate mod, but I include it here so that Maven's essential tasks are completed before this quest could begin. You must join and gain the Guild's trust before showing them a better way, so... Completion of the full questline through 'Under New Management' to become Guildmaster would be the trigger to begin the quest. Then you can work your will and the reform begins. Guild members accept new terms, some may be 'purged'. Brynjolf and Delvin come along nicely, Vex slowly. Thoughts for the reformed guild... these could be later additions to the questline if developed. Steal only from rich? Give to poor and temples? East Empire Company raids? Provide protection for Honningbrew Estate? Or perhaps take it over? Move some to Honningbrew Estate? This would be better accomodations and likely help sway hardliners like Vex. Maven and Hemming Black-Briar are essential so have them placed in prison assuming Stormcloaks win. (a satisfying end) Sibbi is not essential, so either stays in prison or can be killed. Asgeir Snow-Shod assumes full control or ownership of Black Briar Meadery and moves to Black Briar Manor He is longer in mourning and possibly marries Svana Far-Shield? What becomes of Ingun? May stay on in Black-Briar Manor.
  3. Let them attack you first to avoid the bounty. This is true even for the courier intercept mission.
  4. I've done enough checking for these types of errors to know that it can be very difficult to find the source. The only error code in the event viewer is 1000. This faults the vortex executable, but that isn't much help to troubleshoot because it doesn't go deep enough to give an idea of where in the code. The dll referenced in this type of error is not always the fault either. That's just what it was referencing when it crashed. The nt.dll is updated fairly often with monthly updates though, so I'll see what the next windows update does. If that doesn't do it I'll likely do a clean install of Vortex and reload mods again at some point. I appreciate you looking! 5. I'm pretty careful about installs, and generally don't have anything else running when installing if it can be avoided. There were no dialogs behind that I could see. I reinstalled 1.2.9 and rebooted. Then I removed the directories for "changelog-dashlet" and "common-interpreters". I attempted a launch and received this message: "Your Vortex installation has been corrupted. This could be the result of a virus or manual manipulation. Vortex might still appear to work (partially) but we suggest you reinstall it." Well, I had just manually manipulated the directories by doing the above. Anyway, I quit and ran a virus scan and my system was clean. I also downloaded Malwarebytes to check for items not generally caught by anti-virus programs. It also came back clean. So, attempted another launch and clicked "Ignore" on the message and Vortex behaved as it had been with a faded logo momentarily appearing for a few seconds. Vortex log attached. Good luck and thanks for looking!
  6. The install of 1.2.9 completed normally, but would not launch. I rebooted the computer and still no launch. The vortex graphic would appear slightly faded for a moment and disappear. Task Manager showed several Vortex processes running and using cpu and memory for a while and then drop to 0%. The vortex directory files all had the new file version, and this was confirmed in Control Panel => Programs and Features. I installed the previous version without uninstalling first, I was hoping that way it would preserve settings and it did. Vortex is running normally on version 1.1.15 currently. I'm running Windows 10 Pro 1909, with updates through March. It could be a windows issue that will be corrected, or Vortex. It could also be a mod that isn't compatible with the newest release. Event Viewer faults Vortex, but with error code 1000 which is pretty much unhelpful since that goes not deeper than the exe in question. I have attached a the vortex log file contents, diagnostic file from a working v1.1.15, and also v1.2.9.
  7. Congratulations to the Vortex team for reaching full release! That is a huge achievement! I've used Vortex since the Alpha release and have seen it grow to become a mod manager I can trust. TRUST. I used Mod Organizer with Skyrim and others before that with Morrowind. I played with close to 100 mods with Skyrim which was not always stable. I know it was possible to play with more and some did with 200 and more, but that was a bit beyond me with that system. I started out with Vortex on several starting plays of 30 to 60 minutes learning the interface and how it worked in the early days, usually with 10 to 20 mods. Then I added more and had a playthrough with 50 or so mods. It was ok even in alpha. The interface did take some time to get used to for me; mostly in learning to trust it. After about 6 months and several Vortex updates that improved the organization capabilities greatly in my opinion; I found I could start adding more mods without any real problems. I've been able to upgrade Vortex anywhere in a playthrough without any problem all through the beta phase. I currently have over 200 mods for Skyrim SE, and it is completely stable. I don't use anything special to keep it that way either; no bashed patches or anything like that. While I'm comfortable cleaning some older mods for Skyrim SE, I'm not skilled in some of the higher end tools that have been created. I really don't think a user of my skill level could be running this many mods without Vortex. I know there are plenty of people out there that could and kudos to them, but this is a fantastic tool. The later changes with suggested mod order have been very helpful and time saving. I can spend far less time organizing mods to make them compatible and more time playing! Job well done!
