  1. This works. For you old guys over 70 like me with dementia, and limited pc skills, ResetInputEnableLayer 0, or 1, or whichever layer it shows on. That is all you have to do. Easy pesee. This happened after Red Glare, seems to occur on other Brotherhood of Steel quests. DumpInputEnableLayers ResetInputEnableLayer 0 Just use whichever layer number its on. Thats all.
  2. I can get this to work most of the time. Go into CK and load the main file with dlc's selected if you want to change them. Make a couple of changes I suggested, when you save it will make a new esp file. Call it whatever you want. Suggest putting it in lower load order, if you have other mods that change characters like Cait, etc. put them after. Do not open those files in CK, they will nullify your new npc esp. Go into your new file in CK, select the npc that wont change in slm. Go to template heading, deselect "use base D...", and "use traits" if selected. If you have an npc that will work in slm then select "use traits", find them, select them and then deselect "use traits". Make sure you use the Same Voice for the npc you are changing, that can screw up some quests. I found you don't have to export the face gen, seems to work without it. I have used this to modify some templates and seems to work. If you use that template deselect "use traits". Save your game first of course. If game crashes on load or other problems then you can always go into the bup folder in the game folder and restore the CK file you had changed. BTW don't use tai to freeze your character while you do this, it crashes a lot. Use tgp (toggle game pause) seems to work the best. Console and slm still work. If you try to change a npc and they won't change esc out, it will crash you. Also, get FO4 Creation Kit Fixes by perchik71, this doesn't work to good at all on the original. Send him some kudos and buy him a couple cups of coffee and endorse. No guarantees. Hope this helps.
  3. Thanks. I will check into that. The mod has been pulled from nexus. May try re-porting my sky v file.
  4. Having the same problem. Set Task Manager to "always on top" when you ctrl alt del it will be there when you need it. Unless your other dual monitor is on. Still a pain. Using the Necomimi Race mod. Love it. Worked great on Sky V. It has been pulled I guess, cant find it anywhere. Anyway if I approach a nekomimi pc it freezes. Period. Going thru the mod to see if it is a spell, perk or whatever that freezes it. May be related to your problem. Might have been a problem porting it over to SSE. Had that problem when a mod overwrote XPMSE skeleton once. All other mods and game works great. Including some of my own. BTW saw a post to add iNumHWThreads=24 to skyrim.ini under General. Really helped stuttering a lot. Can run full speed through the forest with a high LOD. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer but if I figure it out will let you know. This is an old post. Did you ever figure it out?
  5. Go to an older save. ~ to console. Select him/her, reload new save and type in moveto player. If that doesn't work try resurrect then disable then enable and move to player again. If that doesn't work you can just player.placeatme with their base id number and there he/she is. Sometimes special characteristics or quest scripts won't be with them with placeatme. It changes their reference id to an ff00xxx.
  6. Steam Mover is a good little utility for moving steam files quickly. Keep SSE on an external hard drive or set up a new drive. C: loads up fast. BTW if you use body physics, SMP will tank your fps do not use that for all female body types. CBPE or something else. SMP is hot, but a fps killer, use it for custom or stand alone npc's, you will love it.
  7. I think some comments hit the issue. Monitor, etc. I'm old, and this game is so dark in so many places. What I did for a quick "light" is modav my jumpheight to 200, jump, hit ~, player.placeatme 77fce, a good bright light. ~ again, and now I can see. It may flicker on and off a little bit in spots because it conflicts with other lighting. You can use jaxonpositioner to move it around. Now I don't have to go into creation kit and modify lighting. Messing with interiors on the original game with ck can cause problems.
  8. You have a mod conflict. If you have replaced any armors or clothing, yourself, that can do it. Recommend disabling 4-5 mods at a time, reload, recheck them and disable 4-5 more till it works. If this doesn't do it don't know what else to tell you.. Hope this helps, been there many times. Especially since I mod the hell out of it myself. Sometimes I am the biggest problem.
  9. My fps would drop to 5 in Riften and other places. Spent hours and a couple days researching, loading enb and other fixes that didn't work. Walah. Guess what. If you are using physics mods DO NOT use SMP for your main female body type. You will totally tank your fps. Use CPBE. SMP is best but it will kill your fps. Use it for custom and stand alone npc's you will love it. I have 60 fps almost everywhere now, lowest I get in Riften now is about 45 with mods that add a hundred different characters. Hope this helps.
  10. FYI "help" doesnt' work for finding items in FNV. It reminds me of the old msdos days. Type in search then object name ex. search starlet and it will give you all the items, characters etc. with that name. If it contains two word like sexy sleepwear type in search "sexy sleepwear" and it will list them all. Also recommend NVSE Extender v16, you don't have to go from controller to mouse, also shows quest location markers, etc.
  11. I have like 5000 hours in ck, (2/3 of that ctd and start over) and the old face bug showed again, where you make the lips red dark and the forehead or the eye socket turns that color. Went through some of my old notes and did this: I went into textures/actors/character/character assets/ and put a ! in front of tintmasks, you can do that or use a 0 or whatever, so it isnt recognized. Lips were red again, and it worked again. Sometimes ctrl+altF4 doesnt change or show in game. I go to textures/actors/character/FaceGenData do the same thing to Face Tint. Open ck, alt+F4 on the character(s) that were changed. Ck creates a new Face Tint file. Copy those contents into the old Face Tint file you had renamed. Delete the new Face Tint file remove the character you put in front of the old one and it should work this time, most of the time anyway. I think when you use "verify integrity of game files" in steam it puts it back. Check there first if it starts doing it again. FYI
  12. SSE just updated again today, dammit. Here is an awesome link to REVERT back to your older game to get it to work. https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/9bap6e/seems_sse_has_been_updated_70mb_which_again_will/ I will go ahead and show the correct manifest number for the last update a month or so ago. You dont have to reload SKSE or anything else. Follow the instructions, change download_depot number to: download_depot 489830 489833 583541185188584076 (That was the update from about a month ago, if you have already updated to skse64_2_00_08 .) BTW: be sure to set "Updated content will be acquired only when launching this game" in UPDATES in Steam. Stop the surprise updates. I forgot to do this....DUH, they got me, doesnt take long to revert back, it's just a paiin the butt-thesda.) This worked for me. Back in the game with all the physics. Hope this helps. Silverlock just upgraded to 2.0.9 today. 489830 489833 To cdownload_download_depot 489830 489833 depot 4898330 489 orrect that download_depot number, (updated again Oct 3, 18, copy the last manifest id 5835411851885840 th
  13. Had the same problem, driving me bonkers. Reloaded CK, etc. Checked and double checked the ini. Still master load error. Did everything suggested in this post still not working. Lo and behold, in skyrimprefs. ini I had bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 (twice) bAllowMultipleMasterFiles=1 wasnt there. This is an FYI, I have been modding bugthesda for years and every once in while I do something really stupid, like this one. LOL Make sure CK is set to run as adminstrator. Set ini read onlly, I forget sometimes and it gets over written on updates. Keep backup ini's.
  14. Fixed it for me. Same problem. Could only load certain npc's all others would crash. I tried everything looked everywhere for hours. Tinkered with NVIDIA and CK ini settings everything, Read about CK not liking custom armor and clothing mods. As jackjack86 noted. What worked was so simple I had to lol over and over. Went into Data\Meshes folder, put an ! (0 or ; or any other character) in front of Armor and Clothes folders, (i.e.!Armor). It worked. Bandits everyone loaded in character screen. Loose files override the .ba2 files. Hiding the loose files forces CK to read the .ba2 files by default with all the original armor and clothing. When I am done editing and close CK I just go back in Data and remove the ! from in front of those folders, custom armor and clothes are still in game. Didn't have to remove or delete any custom mods. Hope this helps . Until CK can start reading custom armor clothing mods. This works for simple character editing and custom npc's you create, don't know about a fix to script editing crashes, etc. yet.
  15. SSE was updated recently. SKSE had to be upgraded. I had the same problem. Update SKSE and CBP physics (Updated Sept this year), run FNIS and it is working again. Fyi.
