  1. Hi Tannin, Thanks for replying. That's much better news than I expected. When I realised I'd lost the AppData that Vortex requires, I assumed I'd lost the install alltogether. You're right about the staging folder. That, and my SSE install, were on a different drive to the one I lost. I'll give Reset to Manifest a go and then compare the plugins with the ones I can see in my last save. I'll then work through the conflicts before a purge and re-deployment. I've backed up the whole SSE foider, along with the staging folder and the vortex.deployment.json in case I need to recover any of them later on.
  2. So, last weekend, my OS HDD died. I have SSE installed on a separate drive, along with my staging and download folders, and so haven’t lost my current install or mods. Unfortunately (because I wrongly believed that Vortex backed up to My Documents) I lost the AppData Vortex folders and the information contained within them. I swapped in a new HDD, reinstalled Windows and then Vortex. Long story short, when I launched Vortex and set up the correct file and folder paths, all my mods were greyed out (showing as disabled). Using ReSaver for reference, I went through my latest save and reactivated all the plugins (in Vortex) that my game required. Doing this meant that I could launch and pick up my game from where I left off. At present, I can’t install any further mods with Vortex because it recognizes that the game was modded prior to this installation and wants to purge before redeploying and continuing to mod. I’m pretty sure that I don’t have the data Vortex would be looking for due to losing my AppData folders, but I do have a vortex.deployment.json file in my SSE data folder that was created during my last deployment (the night before my HDD died). My question is, what exactly is the vortex.deployment.json file, and, if I allow Vortex to purge, will it be able to deploy from the information contained in the vortex.deployment.json? Thanks for any advice on this.
  3. I had this problem but a restart of NMM sorted it. Hope this helps.
  4. Hi there! I've created two followers so far neither of which I have made marriageable as I felt that this conflicted with their back stories. One follower has recently lost their husband and I didn't feel it would fit the character to have the option of marriage. Some of my downloaders have raised a good point though, in that they might travel for months with these characters getting to know them, fighting alongside them and developing relationships with them. The end point of these relationships could indeed be marriage regardless of the initial emotional state of my followers. So... (sorry for the long intro) I wondered if there is a way to set a timer or a relationship condition which means that my follower would only be ready to wed the Dragonborn say six game months after they'd met or after a series of conditions or relationship checks had been met (kind of a follower renown system maybe)? Thanks for any help or suggestions! Cheers! Andy
  5. Hi there! I've created two followers now, both are hosted here on The Nexus. I was doing some play testing today when I noticed that with Wet and Cold snow wasn't collecting on either of my follower's hairs although it was gathering on their clothes and faces. I have another follower (Tauriel) in my group and the snow was gathering on her hair. I've spent sometime comparing Tauriel to my other followers and can't see any differences. I'm guessing I must have made a mistake with the hair of the followers that I've created but i'm not sure what it is. Would anyone have any idea what might be causing this? This might sound like an odd one but I hate inconsistencies and want to be able to produce the best I can for people who download my followers. Thank you!
  6. Hi there! My name’s Andrew Cull. I’m the writer and director of The Possession Of David O’Reilly (UK title The Torment). I’m also the creator of the Louise Paxton YouTube series. I am currently looking to cast two female actors to play two custom voice followers I have created. Both are strong Nord women with what I hope people will find to be engaging and involving stories. I am currently looking to cast custom voices for both characters with the potential to expand this to include quests for each character later on. Morgen can be downloaded from the Nexus http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49626/? Please read her journals to get a better idea of her character. She’s in her mid thirties and has been through a terrible and traumatic experience. Instead of breaking her she has grown stronger and is driven by her need to exact revenge. “As sure as day follows night I will hunt you through the whole of this land if that is what it takes. My name is Morgen. I am Morgen the Unbroken and you should have killed me when you had the chance.” Reyda is as yet unreleased and will launch with a custom voice. Reyda is in her mid twenties. She’s the daughter of a retired Companion. Her family was murdered when their village was overrun with Draugr. She was a teenager at the time and since then has spent her life dedicated to hunting Necromancers and ridding Skyrim of the undead. She’s beautiful but tough. Some of her lines include, “Stand in my way and you won’t be standing for long!” “You never get used to the stench of the dead" and, “As long as there is still breath in these lungs no draugr will be safe from my blade." For some example shots of both characters please check out my Flickr page http://www.flickr.com/photos/andrewcull/ The deadline for auditions is 30th March. Quality sound recordings are a must, but experience is not necessary. You can mail me an audition on [email protected] or you can upload your clips to a sound streaming website such as SoundCloud. Please make sure you name your file with the character name first and yours second e.g. Reyda_Jayne_Doe.wav Please record in wav format 44100 Hz, mono. You can also mail me any questions you might have on the email above. You can also check out my website for more about my work. www.andrewcull.com Thank you!
  7. Hi there! I'm working on a character overhaul and to cut a very long story short... I've had to transfer by hand two scars and their geometry from one .nif to another using NifSkope. I've done this by copying the branch containing the scars (one left and one right) in their entirety and pasting them into the .nif that had scars but no geometry. That part has worked but in doing this I seem to have deleted the reference to the tint textures in FacegenData/facetint etc and so now have no warpaints. Would anyone be able to tell me where the references for the facetint textures would normally be so that I can correct my error. I've looked through the various bsLightingShaderProperty strings without any luck. I'm guessing that I've somehow overwritten the reference with the scar geometry. Thank you for any help!
  8. I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to post and say Thank You! These instructions really helped me out. Thanks again!
  9. Hi there! Just posting to say Thank You! It was changing iBlurDeferredShadowMask from 3 to 32 that solved the ugly jagged shadows that my follower's hairstyle had been casting on her face. I'd been looking for a cure for ages and this solved it! Thanks again!
  10. Great! Thanks again, the help is really appreciated! :)
  11. Thanks for the quick reply! :) So when I'm working in the CK if I set my follower as the active esp, create the journal add it to my followers inventory and save them it'll be included in their .esp?
  12. Hi there! I'm working on a series of followers and want to tell their stories through journals which they will have in their inventories when you meet them. I know how to create a journal but if I want to add it into the follower's inventory will I need to distribute two esps when I make the follower available for download (one for the follower and one for the journal) or once it's in their inventory will it be covered by a single esp? Thanks in advance for any advice.
  13. Hi there! I've searched around but I can't find a definitive answer to this one. I'm forcing AF at 16x through an Nvidia Inspector profile and also through my ENBLocal file as I'm using Kountervibe ENB. I've read that that's the best way to apply AF to all textures in game (sourced from ENBDev site). In my SkyrimPrefs.ini iMaxAnisotropy is set to 1. Should I set this to 0 for the settings I'm using? Thanks for any advice :D
  14. Hi there! For as long as I can remember I've been able to look through the boards in the roof of Breezehome and see the sky outside but recently I've been upgrading my textures and upon returning to the house I can no longer see through to the sky. Was this a vanilla thing or has another mod given me this view of the sky? I don't think it's down to immersive interiors as I installed and then removed that mod from my save by reverting to an earlier save. Like most people I've been through quite a few texture packs so any help is really appreciate. Thanks!
