  1. Will you pin this thread, to make sure it doesn't get buried.....at least until the issue is fixed?
  2. In response to post #67398216. #67432636 is also a reply to the same post. BTW, I did not that you are a premium member, but I hope you do support the modders of your choice through Patreon or other methods of support.
  3. In response to post #67398216. #67432861, #67438991 are all replies on the same post. I don't mind self-entitled people saying how they would do things, especially with modding a game because.....well.....you can mod the game yourself. There are many companions (with voice acting and a backstory) and some may even designed for heterosexual women. I know both Mass Effect and Dragon Age had a plethora of hetro women oriented mods, some of which I thought were fun to play. I have not looked for such mods for FO4, so I can't recommend any. That is the point of modding. You can fix what you think is wrong with the game. Many people love FONV and are looking forward to F4NV, though being a mod.......some things will go missing. Of course, you could just be trying to get your point across to the modders of F4NV, asking someone else to solve your problem. BTW, did you enjoy FO3? It was pretty much gender less, it didn't matter which sex you played because it was the same thing. That would be the easiest thing to do is to have Pat (the gender less grandparent of the MC in FO2, which had you played FO1, that would have been your character), but it makes the game boring on multiple playthroughs.. Personally, I love the element of romance in the games, especially as Bioware did them in DAO and ME3.
  4. Isn't that the way it always is. Vortex is great if........ you are a fanboi and will attack anyone who doesn't express the same level of love. Seems we have too much of that in most every part of life now if............ You are new to modding. This is true of Vortex. The features will take care of (reportedly) issues that many long time mod users had to resolve on their own. if.......... You don't mind reloading all your mods for FO4 and Skyrim because your NMM is "corrupted". Sorry, but between Vortex staff saying "not Vortex's fault" to "Did you try buying a new computer" (I may be exaggerating a bit (https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7122081-vortext-cannot-validate-nmms-mods-archibe-files/page-2?hl=%20vortex%20%20cannot%20%20validate%20%20nmm) , the final suggestion is to start all over again. if........ You have a new computer/OS/fresh install of your favorite game. if........ You have patience to wait for help. Bottom line, if you have a stable set up in NMM (and you are familiar with LOOT and F4Edit), then stay with it. It is like using DOS. If it works for you, it is far superior to Windows, but......if you want to do anything modern.....you will have to convert. Pain now, or pain later, converting to a new tool is never easy. It will come down to when I want to take a few hours to rebuild my mod list. Thank goodness for Nexus's mod history feature which makes it easy to find all the mods I downloaded. Basically, i ran into the "Vortex cannot validate NMMs......." error.
  5. Ok, reading a few of the posts here (and in other threads) it is clear that there is a group of fanbois (ardent defenders of Vortex who accuse non Vortex fans of being stupid or to simply "go back to NMM if you are so mad"). I switched over to Vortex from NMM and as one who has helped people understand how to use LOOT and F4Edit tools to resolve conflicts, the issues resolved by using Vortex seems to favor the new users. Much like Apple changed Operating Systems with windows and now.......we have our choice of Apple windows or Microsoft windows (rather than DOS). Yes, i am aware that LINUX/UNIX are still out there and no, I never liked programming in FORTRAN && so why in hell would I like LINUX?? But I digress...... In the end, it won't matter what ever way we use to justify using NMM or MO or Vortex. All that matters is that Nexus is going this direction. What is particularly vexing to me is that I need to go to the help pages because, unlike NMM, who was manual and forced me to do alot of things myself, making it easy to trouble shoot. Now instead of playing FO4, I have to figure out a way to import everything without having it move everything ot my SSD....sigh.....not a Vortex problem, but an issue with programmers trying to "help" people by making it easy.
  6. It is a pity that perceptions of telework capabilities aren't to the point where you would be willing to employ on a world wide scale, especially working on a world wide website. As it stands, I still have 10 + years before retiring, putting me in a position to consider moving. Yes, I am one of "those Gen X OGs" (Original Gamers....not Original Gangstas).
  7. In response to post #43238875. <main point> Perhaps a set of users of MO and NMM could be drafted to build a how to library of youtube videos. Will that be something that NM will put on the to do list if they opt for documentation. <one perspective on the video help> I understand that a table of contents beats videos by a long shot, but it seems (in my line of work at least) that people learn best when immersed in the thing they are learning. A tabbed video (meaning it has defined breaks and a TOC in the description) would allow a user to rapidly get to the point of the video that they need assistance with.
