  1. Muhammad Almighty, you guys are still at it.
  2. Money. See, that wasn't hard. No idea what margins they are operating on here, but, running this place, with 18 employees, is NOT inexpensive. So, they need to make sure collections will 'always work', to motivate people to buy premium. They change the pricing, so it makes them more money. Expect collections to roll out in the not very distant future. That is what this is all in preparation for. Which is pointless anyway when half of the most prominent mod authors have left the site and taken their mods with them. Which still leaves half. Or more. Several of the major authors are still here. Nexus knew they were going to lose some, and some would stay. It was a gamble, and it appears to be paying off. If you guys spent more of your time outside these silly threads engaging in weird defeatism, you'd know there's much more ado than the noise. I exchanged messages off-nexus with quite a few 'major' as you called it, mod authors, mostly New Vegas and 4, and I assure that almost each one of them is either planning to nuke everything on the last day (Giving Nexi a chance to get back to senses, coz many of them been here for so long and still trying to give a chance to whole this), or planning to simply never update/upload anything ever here, and use this basically as a platform for promotion and re-direction, no more (Out of those people I reached out to, there were only two who said they won't do anything coz they are one of them 'endoresements and comments history matters, please don't hurt us we'll make fishbar soup, FISHBAR!' peculiar types). I can't Personally say much about other titans like Elders Scrolls folk since I don't know almost any, but the smell carries with the wind. So while I don't agree with their 'silent approach' (Actions gotta talk), I'm happy to know that the cast is FAR bigger than the spotlight shows ; )
  3. I get your point, but rest assured that was not my intention at all. My own identity or activity on here means absolutely zero really, a few friends of mine are active modders here on Nexus and that's it, we usually communicate outside of the forums (Teamspeak and the likes). Still I feel this recent change affects so many people that I wanted to share my opinion, but as I said I won't dive deeper into the pro / contra discussions since, as you pointed out, my lack of track record would make for weak arguments anyway  That's not what I pointed out, what I pointed out was To those who think their voice don't matter I will repeat again, And it's not about 'track records'. You also didn't say at the beginning of your post that you just use this to keep in touch with friends, what you said was "Hello, I've been a silent mod and nexus user for years" . Regardless of how silent you was, or what you using this website for, you can act. You can act here, and you can act outside of here. And it means everything. Same also with a lack of actions. It would mean everything. And no excuses are viable. Right now while I'm typing this, the owner of this site is reading this topic. They are watching very carefully, guys. Don't disappoint them.
  4. And I'd like to ask mod users, not just mod authors, to voice their concerns and opposition in any way they can, here or elsewhere, then maybe we won't be in a situation where you'll have to ask for alternate links. Otherwise, such requests sound like nothing but a disguised 'so where can we continue to get stuff" (For example, in case of ********, a person who's here from 2009 and so far gave like 9 endorsements to people he supposedly supports, this doesn't inspire belief in sincerity). To those who think their voice don't matter I will repeat again,
  5. Also the fake cave next to The One is used by one of the best mods ever --- Skunkwalker Gulch :D. But all of this just makes you realize how tiny actually New Vegas map is. I think it'd be a fun idea to unite and create some kind of an extension of the vanilla world space that would be filled up by future modders as a shared space. Sort of a new mandatory like NVSE but for those who'd like to experience new quest mods. Though of course, there's two immediate problems with that: making it a thing for everyone to use it, and how to make the area plausable for those who only play just one or two quest mods that require it (As in, how to avoid big empty world spaces. Maybe it could be solved by creating some kind of natural obstacles that would only allow you to travel past them if you have specific mods that used that area. But again that woul require a very extensive level of coopeeration between all modders : / ).
  6. Shukan for your suggestions. Caves won't suit me at all and you're right, it's super hard to find any existing locale with some kind of landmarks that wasn't touched by someone (Even those suggested here, I've seen used in some popular quest mods, for example I think Mountain Crater I've seen either in Someguy's or maybe even your mod, Radioactivelad? And Ranger Station Bravo territory I already used myself X) ). In any case, I've decided to go the hard way and make the location from scratch, chose a spot on the opposite of Camp Forlorn Hope's "mountain" which is tragically ironic, so close to safety yet so far.
  7. Asalam. I'm looking for a place to stiff in some environmental storytelling related to one of my mod's characters. Something like an abandoned house/building, preferably a bit away from New Vegas. And I'd rather put it somewhere where no other mods could interfer with it since the story involved is a tragedy, and I don't want some joker unintentionally concluding it's a comedy, which often happen when two mods overlap (Like for example someone made a happy orphanage in one place, and some other modder a raider dan at the same spot. Oops). So my question is, are there any locations that would at least relatively fit the needs above that you've never seen touched by other mods or at the very least, seen them touched very rarely?
  8. You just need original Outfit Studio from Fallout 4, it works with New Vegas.
