  1. So glad to hear this! Nothing more annoying than a problem that you can't find a solution for, until that magic moment when you do!
  2. Okay, so I figured out my problem. I had it installed in two places and skse was seeing the latest updated version on C: drive, even though I had the skse files copied to the folders in D: drive. I used to steam to move my install to the D: drive and now all is well. Thanks! So user error in me not realizing I still had the install on C, but bad on bethesda for not listing updates past version 1.5.39, which happened to be the version I originally had on D! If I hadn't googled and browsed through a few different pages, I would have never known that there were any versions after that and would have sworn that "besthesda says the latest is 1.5.39!"
  3. Wow, this is very confusing: I checked the "devnotes" page on Besthesda.net and it "confirms" that the latest update is the version I already have - 1.5.39 but google searching brings up pages mentioning an update as late as november 2019 1.5.97. The page says that even though bethesda is still releasing patches, it's not updating it's webpage to mention them. WHAT?! The fact that steam doesn't want to update to any version later than 1.5.39 adds to the confusion. Is it really that hard to update a webpage with a line of text? I'll try what you said, deleting and redownloading the skyrim.exe.
  4. First mod I wanted to download was SKYUI, which requires SKSE. So I downloaded and copied the files for SKSE into the appropriate folders. When I launch SKSE it tells me my version of skyrim is 1.5.39 and not the latest. But when I go to Steam, and have updates turned on, it doesn't show that there are any updates required. What gives?
  5. Okay thanks! I'll probably play SSE but continuing to use Mod Organizer, since I'm familiar with it and I should be able to simply copy all the files into the same directories.
  6. Are you using dosbox to play them? I know that for one of my old dosbox games, I had a similar issue where I could hear the game sounds but the screen was blank. The solution was to go into one of the config files for the game and change a graphic setting from "overlay" (or whatever) mode to "openGL."
  7. I recently got a new laptop with a nice Nvidia 1070 8gb card that can play pretty much anything and I reinstalled both my Legendary and SSE. On my old laptop, which wasn't good enough to run the highest res or settings, I had about 150 mods, tried a couple less-demanding ENBs and other than some framerates dropping to slideshows at times, it ran pretty well, almost no crashes. I never played SSE on it. What should I go with on the new PC? This will sort of be a fresh start so I'm wondering what the best combo is? I only used Mod Organizer and loved the way it worked with the virtual data and being able to make different profiles and easily add/remove mods. Is there a "best" mod manager? Should I just port over all my Mod Organizer stuff and easily recreate what I had before, or start fresh with something new? Is there much difference with SSE or is installing an ENB on original better (or ENB on top of SSE?)
  8. Well, that sounds like a strange one, but thanks for following up with your fix! Can you clarify, because it sounds like you still experience the issue but are solving it with keying in and out of 1st and 3rd person view, but it sounded like you said IFPV was causing the issue but you removed it? How does that work?
  9. I don't know much about modding, but what you're trying to do sounds similar to "immersive speechcraft." You may want to contact the mod author and see if they would be nice enough to give you some help. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63874/?
  10. I know this is a really late reply, but it sounds like your normals were flipped the wrong way. If it's all the polys, you can select all of them and click on "flip" or "flip normals" to make the "outside" of the polys properly face outward.
  11. Maybe you've got some UI mods that are causing the overlay effect? Or mods that have some graphics/status bars there but hidden? For example, if you have frostfall on, and every time you enter an interior and get warmer by the fire, there would be a status bar showing a change, but you've got it hidden by a UI mod?
  12. If you mean those jagged lines, that's sort of normal. For the stairs, it's basically one pixel of detail against another pixel of detail with darker/lighter contrast. The stairs show it because it's a 3D shape and the edges don't appear to be anti-aliased. If you turn on anti-aliasing (sort of like blurring the edge pixels together) it can help lessen the effect, but anti-aliasing can impact performance.
  13. The only thing that jumps out at me is open cities. Instead of having to load the city separately by walking through doors, it's basically loading the city before you get to it so you can walk through open doors. Maybe your video card is running out of memory as it has all the outside textures loaded, then loads all the city textures in addition to that? I'm not sure how safe it is to disable or uninstall open cities, but you can try that without saving to see if it fixes anything. If it doesn't all I can suggest is to disable mods by half. Meaning, disable half the mods, if the problem persists you know it's in the half you're using, if not, it's in the other half. Then load the half that is causing issues, minus half of them again, and continue to whittle down the problem. It both halves work okay, it probably means a conflict between mods in both halves. etc.
  14. dll issues are often flagged by anti-virus software because it is possible to do some bad things with virus-laden dll files, so you may also want to see if your anti-virus software is interfering with MO's operation.
