  1. Ok then... How do I move it out then, because, I have it installed on Steam... Can I tell Steam to install it somewhere else, or is just moving the folder from my Common folder to somewhere else good enough? Edit: I moved it to Documents, but I'm still getting green lasers shooting backward, and not the golden lasers that I made.
  2. With, rather questionable results. Can anyone explain what has gone wrong here?
  3. I'm a girl, but yeah, this is my first mod, I only learned how to make a mod a week before starting this project, here's hoping it goes smoothly, I'll post an update one I've finished all the energy weapon models, then I'll move on to heavy weapons, melee, and finish with ballistic weapons for moving on to armor and saving the easiest, retexturing everything, for last.
  4. Thanks for the armor tutorial, I'll need it when I get to making armor. I just finished the model that will be replacing the Gauss Rifle, I'm going to take a short break before I get around to texturing it, I kinda needed the reassurance, since it's amazingly exhausting to work.
  5. Starting with weapons, then moving on to armor, then saving the easiest for last: Retexturing everything so it fits with my crappy gun textures and don't clash too much. So far, I have 4 weapon models made, only 181 left to go... Then I have to make sure they work in-game, then I need to learn how to make armor... This is going to be hell... Anyone have any advice on how to make the modeling go faster... Or how to make better textures since I'm not that good of a graphical artist...
  6. How do you add a projectile node? I'm aware that I could just apply my model to an already-existing weapon, but doing that causes GECK to crash when I try and open it, so...
  7. Here's a video of what I'm experiencing, I've figured out it must be related to me not figuring out how to tell the gun which part is the barrel: https://www.reddit.com/r/fnv/comments/hfw8ui/well_i_know_how_to_model_and_texture_a_new_weapon/
  8. (Watch if you don't know what I'm trying to describe: https://www.reddit.com/r/fnv/comments/hfw8ui/well_i_know_how_to_model_and_texture_a_new_weapon/) I believe it has something to do with the fact that I haven't told the game where the weapon's projectile is actually supposed to come out of, but I don't know how to do that, anyone providing a guide or giving some advice would be appreciated:
  9. I've managed to get the model into the game, and get it to accept my textures... But, now, when I fire it, even when using sounds and effects that already exist in the game, it won't make any sounds or make any muzzle flashes.
  10. When installing PyFFI, I get this error: I've reinstalled Blender multiple times, but I've been unable to figure out how to do as it says... I don't see anything called "User Data Files" in here: I know, it's just that the old versions are so difficult to use, not helped by the fact that I can't find too many tutorials for them... I've learned how to export mesh that I've made in the newer version to the older version, but I don't know how to keep my textures and normal maps when I do... So I now need to learn how to readd those in the older version, which I can barely navigate.
  11. As I have recently discovered through some experimentation... I am an idiot... The problem was not one of mesh, it was one of texture... I had apparently tried to use a model that was completely untextured, and because of that, it showed me the error sign... I was at least expecting some kind of pink and black squares like other games show when you load in an untextured mesh, but apparently this one just shows you that error sign if it's untextured... I went and made sure that the textures were actually applied (because I messed that up when I exported the model as an OBJ originally), and now it works.
  12. So... I have Blender, I have NifSkope, I have Python and all that... I've managed to convert an object into a .nif, I have all the tools needed to create my own models and add them to the game in GECK... I try to make a new model, something basic just so I can see if it works: a cube with a rusted metal texture. I load it into GECK and all I get is a red error marker... There weren't any errors when I made or exported it from Blender, there weren't any errors when I converted it into a .NIF, but for some reason, regardless of what I do, it only ever shows me an error mark.
  13. Note: I've figured out that I can export it from 2.8 as a .OBJ, and open it in 2.4 without any errors...Save for the fact that I can only transfer the mesh, not the textures or UV maps...
  14. Alright... So... I've managed to figure out how to convert.Blend files into .Nif files, anyone who has seen my previous posts knows that it was a big issue of mine, but it's fixed now... But, I've run into a new problem, I don't know how to use Blender 2.49... I only know how to use version 2.83, but 2.49 is the only version that I can export files into a .Nif... I was originally planning to make my models in 2.83 and then open them into 2.49... But, when I try to load a file made in 2.83, it cannot be loaded into 2.49, the view is just blank... Is there any way to transfer files into previous versions of Blender?
