  1. Thanks for all the replies. I understand the benefits of the "Vortex Way" and I subscribe to it and try and convert the uninitiated myself at times. :) I just feel that by adding 1 feature and putting as an "for advanced users - please be aware of what you are doing" - type of thing that you would a) Provide a way for people that have learnt how to manage mods manually continue to do it and then let them learn the benefits of Vortex in their own time rather than rejecting it outright. b) Cancel out the only remaining criticism/barrier to total adoption of Vortex as the best modern mod manager.
  2. Hi Team, Firstly I just wanted to reiterate that I think Vortex is awesome and a great mod management tool. I have a bundle of different profiles which help me with playing games and making mods. Apologies if this has been asked for elsewhere. One thing I have been trying to do is setup a mod list that relies on and requires manual load order sorting. - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23556 - to ensure stability. I tried to do it using Vortex but required too many rules and in the end I gave up and went back to NMM on a separate PC for that particular build. All It would take would be if on top of the autosort disable feature we could manually reposition plugins in the load order. Maybe set it up as an advanced feature. It also seems that in the community this is the only remaining criticism of Vortex and a few significant mod authors are recommending against it for lack of manual sorting as an option. I would also happily contribute funds to make this feature possible. Keep up the great work and looking forward to the future.
  3. Thanks for getting back to me. It was getting stressful. :) I will keep an eye out for HW defect as the other possible reasons are highly unlikely on my setup. Re-downloading and installing the latest beta has appeared to fix the issue! :ninja: Might be a good idea to post this on the FAQ.
  4. Can I please get someone to advise how to fix this issue. I can't use Vortex at all and I can't change profiles. I really don't want to have to reinstall!
  5. Here is the error in the Vortex Log. 6. Its weird. Fallout 4 is not listed as a supported game. And I tell it to only scan the steam directory and it can't find it.
  7. I have been using it successfully for months and then it just stopped working. No games are listed in my games list and when I go and search for games it doesn't find any in the discovered tab.
  8. I have also filed a bug report. As I can't use Vortex currently to switch between my profiles I would really appreciate a reply to advise on how I can restore Vortex to working order.
  9. Which version of Vortex are you on? - 0.17.5 What game are you trying to mod with Vortex? - Fallout 4 How many mods do you have installed? - 300 or so. What environment are you running Vortex on? - Windows 10 10.0.17763.253] x64 128G RAM When I loaded Vortex today and it gave an error (i can't remember the exact wording) along the lines of can't determine game mode. I closed it and opened it again and there are no games and no mods listed. I tell it to scan games and it can;t find any even though Fallout 4 is there and I can play it. I have attached latest log. - Which version of Vortex are you on?
  10. First Off - I really like what has been done with Vortex. Once I unlearned all my old NMM habits its great to use as long as you understand how it works. To quote a wise Jedi - "You must unlearn what you have learned". :) I figured out that you can bulk select mods to enable or disable. But I can;t seem to bulk uninstall mods. Is this possible / doable / an advanced feature maybe. :) Regards Lachlan.
  11. I second this idea. Most mods dont have ESL in the filename and you cant search within the description for ESL.
