  1. There is a mod on nexus that removes that stinky horn, I use it my self and it's awesome :D http://www.nexusmods.com/metalgearsolidvtpp/mods/104/? I am lucky I am bald, so I have no need for hair mods (yeah maybe irl :P)
  2. Do you have the dictionary file also in the same folder as the QAR tool? If I recall correctly I read about this problem somewhere. Maybe try this: 1. Create a folder somewhere (lets call it doodoo for refferance) and copy the data1/00/chunk0.dat or what ever file you want to modify to this folder. 2. Move everything from the QAR toolset in the doodoo folder. 3. Now drag the file you want to extract on the QAR.exe and let it do it's magic (be sure the dictionary file that came with the QAR tool is there also!) 4. Modify the newly created folder QAR made for you (a folder called data1 or 00 or chunk0) with the mod you want. 5. Now drag the .inf with the same name as the folder mentioned above on the QAR.exe to repack. (because everything is now in a seperate folder this time it might work, that's the whole point) 6. In your game folder rename the original file you copied earlier into something else to distiquish it and preserve your game. 7. Now copy or drag the file QAR repacked for you (if this trick worked that is) from your doodoo folder into your game folder and now your game should work with the mod. I hope this helps you out.
  3. I was hoping and requesting the exact same mod, but now I am at a point that I don't even care about the other markers either. Try to imagin you are in the field, you may have shrapnel in your head but not some weird chip that makes makers visable around you, this makes checking your idriod a lot mandatory but in the end you are starting to do more and more yourself. You can make the map smaller by pressing Y/triangle (if im correct) to make the map smaller so you can orientate yourself better since you can move when your idroid is active. For me this really helps the emersion A LOT. I also recommend setting the "inventory only visable while aiming" option as this gives you a very clean immersive screen when, well, not aiming. Also I personally enabled the 'enemy sight indicator' as this simulates hearing someone say 'huh?' (I only have a crappy headset when it comes to sound) and I installed TPP HARD MOD, this was the combination I was really looking for in this game :)
  4. No console bashing meant here, to be clear I love those machines and own a lot of them. BUT, if you really developing interest in modding games it is best to start saving money for a PC, modding isn't as simple as installing a program but it also isn't as hard as programming. Commenly modding consists of reading a lot of stuff about how to unpack files to apply something to them or replacing them with a moddified file and finally repacking them. Sometimes a ultra basic understanding of coding or scripting is handy just to understand what you are modifing or what is happening to certain files. If all this sounds to complicated then stick to consoles, they always work and modding is timeconsuming especially in the begining :)
  5. OH MY GOD, IT'S COMMING!!!! TUDUDUD TUDUDU TUDUDUDUDUD TUDUDDU TUDUDUDDU TUDUDUDU..... Haha great idea, if you manage to create this mod (or someone else) don't forget to use the timescale mod and set it to 1x ... Darude for ever!
  6. Hi there all you lovely modding people. My idear is as followed, how would it be having an option which is selectable just like the chicken hat and Reflex mode called Stealth Required. The concept is pretty simple, getting cought ends the mission and you have to restart from checkpoint. But to make it a bit more rewarding it would be nice that completing a mission like this will reward you with a (platinum) S+ Mission ranking. To make it even more challenging, you could get a (diamond) S++ ranking if you complete the mission with an enemy enhanced sight and hearing tweak (or just letting it work together with the awesome TPP HARD MOD which would also be an awesome thing to have optional) This way I can imagin TPP will be way more exciting than it was till now as I really never felt any tension throughout the 50 main mission to be really honest. I miss my european extreme setting :'( All my demanding idear must be a hell of a lot of work... but one can always hope right?
  7. Thanks for this simple solution :ninja:
