  1. If you still need the file, I can send it to you, just PM me. can you pm it to me, please? c: Me too, please?
  2. For me the files I have attempted to download for the past two days have downloaded okay today; the last one is AMidianBorn's Whiterun. Whatever the issue cause was appears to have been resolved? Related to the DDoS issues of the past two days?
  3. Been trying that for two days now. From the site operators only silence. How about an explanation, site people.
  4. The last two days, EVERY file I have attempted to download has resulted in a zero byte download. WHAT is going on? I too receive the "the file is currently being uploaded" message, but regardless of the message or not, the resulting file is empty. I understand that there may be problems, but how about an explanation and a projected correction date? Seems like the gentlemanly thing to do.
  5. I would expect this issue has already been described but I haven't seen anything about it ......... Since yesterday every download I've attempted has returned a zero byte file. The issue continues today as well. I've tried two different browsers (Pale Moon and Chrome) with the same result, hence my conclusion is that the issue is server related. FWIW
  6. Underwhelmed. After spending roughly an hour on Fallout 4, I'm setting it aside and waiting for mods to make it better. It can't hardly be less impressive. Naturally, I'm comparing it to a modded Skyrim.
  7. This Skyrim Stability Guide (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50244/?) is new and presents some interesting thoughts. It is largely consistent with my personal experiences, although I rely upon the .ini files offered by Ewi. I'm trying some of the basic suggestions in the SSG and so far my experience has been positive. One thing I've noticed is that, in a new or fairly new game, most tweaks work fine. As the game progresses and the save files get larger, however, the weaknesses inherent in most tweaks show themselves, normally in ugly (read, CTD and freeze) ways.
  8. I hesitate to contradict anyone because I've spent two years or more and thousands of hours, dozens of rebuilds and restarts, trying to get a modded (250+) game stable. I tried all tips in this thread and many, many others. Some tips worked for a while and I often thought "Eureka, I've found it!! The magic bullet to kill CTDs, Infinite Loading Screens, and Freezes", only to find that an hour or so later the bad stuff was back. Seemingly, the larger the save the more adjustments I had to do until finally the game simply became unplayable. This time is different. I've stumbled across the solution(s), and I can take NO credit for any of it; I simply found it, tried it, and darned if it doesn't work. The solutions involve ENBoost from Boris Vorontsov, any (or no) ENB or just the base ENBoost, ini files from EWI (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36146/?) --- I personally use the ugrids 5 version with Realvision Performance and change almost nothing in the files (the screen resolution, of course), and probably most importantly, a patch/memory hack to the SKSE loader. You can read about it and obtain an already compiled exe on this forum (look on page 5 for the download link) .... (I'm posting a long breadcrumb link because Boris has a bot trap on direct links) http://enbdev.com/ ---> click on NEWS ---> click on FORUM ---> click on "Other" in the "Advertise Mods" section ---> click on the "Skyrim Memory Patch - fixing ILS, uGrids CTD, freezes" threadIt's very, very geeky for most people (certainly for me) but the post about half way down the 5th page, by ZerOxShadows, contains an explanation and direct link to a complied SKSE patch together with instructions on how to add it to SKSE, including an edit to skse.ini. There are instructions on compiling the patched .exe yourself if you're so inclined; me, I'm all thumbs in that regard. n.b., if you use RealVision, the latest version includes an auto-installer of the SKSE patch, making it very easy. Be sure to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! It's not hard; if you've modded your game, cleaned it, run BOSS, TesVEdit, and the like then you can certainly do these simple things. What's the result? For me, with an i7 2600k running at 4.6ghz with 16g of memory, Windows 7 Ultimate and a GTX 780 with 6 gigs of video memory after installation I have played the game for the past ten hours with only ONE CTD, and that leaving Windhelm at the doors as the game loads Tamriel. I have three followers active, three heavily scripted followers in the game, and all the normal texture, armor, and other eye candy mods (253 total). Before installation I would have had several dozen CTDs at many places as I played those ten hours. The game is butter smooth and almost rock stable; it's fair to say my game is now "vanilla stable". No more adjustments of the Papyrus timings, no more tweaking of memory sizes, just smooth game play with no more CTDs {like probably all of you reading this thread, the modded game's instability was driving me crazy!) I couldn't be happier, and I hope this post points others to this solution. The first post in the thread on the ENB forum I linked to above describes my modding experiences prior to applying this patch (or solution(s), really) *exactly*. Hope this helps someone.
  9. There are two absolutely essential adjustments that, in my opinion and experience, a player who mods Skyrim should apply to their game: First, add Boris Vorontsov's ENBoost (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/38649//?) to your game; you do NOT need a ENB profile to use ENBoost, although you can do so. Personally I use the performance version of RealVision (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30936/?), but whatever suits your personal taste will work. Or none at all; stick to the basic ENBoost. What does ENBoost do? It puts your game's working memory into VRAM. It works! Be sure to follow instructions in installing it. Second, use Ewi's ini files (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/36146/?). Trust me, they work, too. If you are going to mod Skyrim I believe you must be able to tweak and adjust your system to adapt to the mod load you place on it. In my experience, every system is different and what works for one will not necessarily work for others. The two suggestions I gave are excellent places to start from; adjust "slightly", one step at a time, from there. That assumes, of course, that your mod build is stable, BOSS-organized, and TesVEdit cleaned. I've got more than 3300 hours into Skyrim, more re-starts than I can count, and at least a dozen game rebuilds behind me. I've learned the hard way that the game can be modded and is unbelievably beautiful after mods are added, but the 32 bit game engine just isn't up to the task of handling what we are throwing at it. Between ENBoost and Ewi's thoughtful .ini tweaks the game is almost stable. CTDs are fewer and fewer and the game more and more playable. How many mods are in my build? WryeBash says 227. My system isn't weak, of course, but it's not a monster, either. An i7 2600k running at 4.6 with 16g of RAM and a GTX690 card (2 gigs of VRAM). Hope these suggestions help.
  10. I too had that problem; I solved it, well not really a solution, but a workaround that was effective, by opening the console and typing "coc whiterunbreezehome", saving in Breezehome, exiting to Whiterun, then fast traveling to wherever you were going to go, or perhaps back to Windhelm. Not the best solution, but at least I was able to continue the game.
  11. Another very informative blog. I normally don't take the time to read blogs (they rarely have much useful to say, think I) but I'm glad I read this one (and the earlier one, too). An explanation of the ad revenue process is very welcome, and very rare. Thanks for the thorough and candid explanation for your decisions. I'm a lifetime premium member and hence don't think much of this really applies to me personally, but the Nexus is one of the few "must visit" sites on the web and anything that keeps it going, growing, and productive helps us all. You most certainly have my support.
  12. Attention! Only because of a script is the last one you see in the log before CTD or freeze doesn't have to be the reason for that (tried many times)! Edit: To another post! CR04BrutePreQuestScript belongs to original Skyrim! If you will play and not test the game disable the logging options, cause this take performance and the logs can be so big that editor cannot open them! Here my values for now but not testing a lot time! [Papyrus] fUpdateBudgetMS=1000 <-- This value higher by CTDs or freezing while not at loading screens! fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1000 <-- This value higher by CTDs or freezing while not at loading screens! fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000 <-- This value would I higher if I have crashes at loading screens (between entering new cell)! iMinMemoryPageSize=256 iMaxMemoryPageSize=512 iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=9830400 high value not really these are 9 MB and because of mods like Frostfall which is continuously do something I think it's ok! Many, many thanks for starting and maintaining this thread. The information here was *exactly* what I've been looking for. I've experienced a plethora (that's a lot, LOL) of CTDs and freezes always at the least opportune time. These settings have helped me minimize them and pointed me in a direction that will eventually lead, I believe, to eliminate them (or at least make their presence rarer). Kudo's to you!
