  1. Hello there! I was in need of a mod that added in new merchants that would cure your disease for some coin. But I've realized I for one don't really want a vanilla voice for it, also there isn't any vanilla voices that would have this dialogue! Haha. So I am asking if anyone would like to help contribute to this mod. First I suppose I will explain my thoughts on how I will get the mod to work. I want merchants at Solitude, Whiterun, and Riften. Also a couple of travelling merchants. I want them to sound kind of like an old-timey doc. Like "You have ghosts in your blood! I prescribe you cocaine take twice hourly" and then you pay them a couple hundred septims and then they cure your disease. Lol. I am also open to suggestions as to what and how they say things. And honestly open to suggestions for how the whole mod will work. That is basically what I'm looking to do with the mod. I can handle all of the creation kit stuff, I just need voice files. So I need a rough sounding voice to play a plague doctor named Tomas. I need a female to play a plague doctor named Vivian. and I need a young male voice to play one named Aren. Also a couple others for the travelling merchants (Not too sure the types of voices I would need quite yet.. Again completely open to suggestions) I'm thinking a total of 4 travelling merchants. Just so they aren't so hard to come by you know. I would record 1 or a couple of these voices myself but I just have a headset mic and no accoustic foam or anything... I just want the voices to sound half decent haha. OH I am also looking for a plague doctor outfit. I found a few mods I've been thinking of asking permission to use, but if anyone would like to design one from scratch that would be amazing. Thank you for taking the time to read over the plans for my ambitious mod. If you do want to contribute by adding your voice please P.M me here and we can get the ball rolling. Or if you just have some suggestions feel free to leave a reply. All feedback is welcome
  2. Oh ok. Well I guess just for future reference this tool: https://modwat.ch/ is very good for uploading a full mod list. Hope you got the problem resolved :)
  3. Have you ran the game through steam after installing? If you haven't the prerequisite files have not been installed. You need to run it just once through steam for all the files to be loaded. I know this might sound stupid but I'm just covering all the basis. Haha Also as saurusmaximus says above posting a load order would help greatly.
  4. What mods are you running? Is it just vivid weathers?
  5. Oh wow. This is a very odd bug. Like Anselmp says above more info would be very helpful A modlist mainly, but I'm not too sure what would cause this.. Maybe something that alters item names or something that alters that staff, I'm not too sure. Definitely a mod list would help.
  6. I highly recommend using ModOrganizer 2. It makes modding a breeze. MO2: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6194 then when you have MO2 all you need to do is "mod manager download" under files in FNIS. After that you'll want to add the executable to MO2. Under the drop down menu on the right, click edit. then at the top hit the plus with an arrow pointing down "Add from file" Look for where your FNIS is installed with MO2. I know by default it's in the roaming folder. The best way to find the path to this folder I found is to go under the left panel in MO2 where all your mods are listed. Right-click FNIS>Show in explorer. Then go to tools and in the window copy the address at the top of the folder (Should be something like C:/USERS/[username]/AppData/Local/Mod organizer 2/Skyrim/Mods/FNIS then copy paste that address into where you add an executable from file I mention eariler. Then run GenerateFNISForUsers. Run this every time you install or uninstall a mod containing animations.
  7. since you tried a clean save and still no facegen data (This is the problem when you get black faces) I would suggest reinstalling skyrim. As your texture files for the vanilla game might have corrupted somehow if that fixes it or not, at least you'll know if that's the problem or not. :)
  8. I know I might sound condescending saying this, but you have run FNIS after every install of an animation mod? Haha. that's the first question I want to get out of the way. Also as anjenthedog says above make sure you're not running oldrim animations on an SSE game, if you are, check for a SE version or if there's a way to convert it easily (Cathedral Assets Optimizer, etc..) Also I'm not sure if you're running more than just FNIS and XPMSE. So if you have any more animation mods make sure they're compatible with each other, some animations change the same thing in the vanilla game. That's all I can really think of right now. Let me know if any of these things help, or if they don't.
  9. This looks like a hardware issue. Here are some things I've come up with you could try first: check your GPU drivers are up to datemake sure Skyrim is up to datemake sure SKSE is up to datemake sure that the FPS is limited to 60check for any compatibility patches between modscheck for updates for modsAlso what GPU are you using? a few years back I had similar problems, it was due to my GPU not having enough VRAM.
  10. I found an INI tweak that was meant for setups that have higher refresh monitors: Skyrim.ini under [Display] add bLockFramerate=1 Please let me know if this works. I have not tried it. I have a 144Hz monitor but for some reason my game from the start just locked it at 60. I've never had this problem.
  11. make sure your GPU isn't overheating (I notice you have a 2080 which has a very good thermal output, but still never know I guess) I've heard reverting to a save just before when the freezes started, fixes it for some people. I'm guessing for this fix to work, something in that amount of time has corrupted the save (usually too many scripts) and if it is a problem with the actual save file, it's likely it's due to too many scripted mods added. which means you would have to remove a few of the big ones (big quest mods, mods that add lots of NPCs, animation mods) and THEN revert to a save from before the freezing. But as for diagnosing which mod/mods are causing it (it will take a while) but I usually choose a category of mod (the types of mods that are likely the problem, I would start with heavily scripted mods in your case) and I will deactivate just one, see if that fixes it, if not deactivate another.. I know it sounds annoying, but if it is a particular mod, which I think is very likely. This will find which one it is. If/when you find the problem mod through painstakingly deactivating/reactivating mods for 10hrs(maybe an exaggeration haha). You'll need to check you have the latest version of that mod, check the bugs section on the nexus page, and check incompatibilities and if there is one get a patch. Again I hope you find a fix. A couple years ago I had this same problem, it was due to my GPU overheating and it's a pain, virtually impossible to play the game. I feel your pain
  12. A few preliminary things I do for troubleshooting include: Running Skyrim through steam with no mods. To rule out if it's a mod issue or else. disabling mods one by one to check which one if any mods are causing the problem (most of the other things I do, seems you have already done them: LOOT, INI Tweaking, etc) After those fail to fix the problem I typically check for incompatibilities with mods. Check to see all my mods are up to date (Including SKSE, and the actual skyrim game) This usually takes a very long time. Especially since your problem seems to not be tied to just one aspect of the game, you say it freezes just anywhere, even in menus. I would also check that Vsync is enabled in nvidia control panel. Also cap FPS at 60, either through ENB or other means. Skyrim does not play well with higher framerates. Possibly updating graphics driver, prerequisites(Visual C++, etc) Verify integrity of game files through steam I would start with as I mention above just running Skyrim without ANY mods at all. Then if it persists at least now you know none of your mods are the issue (phew)
  13. UPDATE: Found out that oddly SMIM is the culprit. Not sure if bug or incompatibility. Will edit this comment if new developments arise.
  14. This sounds like either a mod incompatibility between two mods, or just an outright bug with one of the mods you have recently installed. Which mods are new? since the Crashes. Are you using MO2, Vortex, Manual installations, NMM? Also if you use LOOT to optimize your load order, it will usually point out any incompatibilities, if you do run LOOT and no errors come up, I would check each mod page for the new mods you've installed and just checking the compatibility section (if it has one). and if all else fails what I do is (if the new mods are not heavily scripted, I say this because disabling mods that are heavily scripted may break your savegame.) Before you do this make a backup of the latest save file. Just in case. try disabling all the new mods, then just load the game with them disabled. Go to where the crashes happen. If it crashes then, the new mods are not the problem(this would be bad cause' a lot harder to diagnose) and then enable just one of them and try loading the game and going to the problem area Dragonsreach. If it crashes then it's likely THAT is the problem mod. BUT like I said above it could just be a compatibility issue. Make sure to read up on the nexus page for that mod. Also check you have the latest version of said mod. and of course if it doesn't crash after about 10 minutes of lollygaggin' around Dragonsreach try enabling another one of the new mods. Just keep doing this until you find the problem mod. Diagnosing CTD's can be painstakingly annoying, or it could be as easy as downloading a patch. I wish you luck. I hope I helped in some way.
