  1. I can't really agree to giving sonic booms to the Gauss rifle. For one, it doesn't have the velocity of a railgun, which is the real contender of electromagnetically charged weapons. Furthermore, sonic booms are generally generated (see what I did there?) by aircraft when their speed exceeds that of sound's, and conventional firearms when discharging a shot. A Gauss rifle or railgun would fire their projectile without explosives, thus the resulting sound, if there's any, would only be created after the ammunition leaves the weapon. This all means it's seriously questionable how much noise it can actually make when shooting. It's also possible that by combining suppressors with subsonic shells pretty much all noise could be eliminated. Another notion is that when something flies fast enough, the kinetic energy it carries could create a small explosion or something similar at the surface it crashes into. So it'd be more accurate to use delayed sounds based on distance.
  2. In response to post #57205416. #57209341 is also a reply to the same post. Seems I'll skip Vortex and keep using MO2 then.
  3. Thank you for the helpful response, appreciate it. I'd like to know if there are plans to include other auto shotguns besides the USAS 12, like Pancor Jackhammer from Max Payne or rare but powerful battle rifles such as the FG42. I wouldn't be bothered much if they aren't implemented, just asking as a side bonus. I very much look forward to its completed, or even beta release, as I'd be willing to put up with a few bugs for a mod as gorgeous as this.
  4. I have only just found about this mod's developement so excuse me if I'm asking something others already did, but how much progress has been made yet? I'd very much like to play it but could only find videos several years old by now.
  5. Hey guys. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, so bear with me please. The problem I have is that my Windows 7 64 bit Professional occasionally freezes at the welcoming screen just after I input my password. This happens when my PC has been turned off for a while and doesn't occur again right away once I reboot with the reset button. I tried repairing with my install disc but setup says it can't do it (possibly because it's ancient pre-SP1 installer), but I have most updates downloaded including SP1 too, so I don't know how to stop this from happening. Looking at the even logs, I found these 2 errors right after the winlogon entry. First: The following service is not starting: server service Second: Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the ShellHW Detection service If anyone has a suggestion what I can do besides full reinstall, I'd very much like to ask them. EDIT: Okay, I'll try figure out something myself. mods please delete this topic.
  6. In response to post #48196397. #48199432, #48207232, #48209512, #48213187, #48213752, #48223992, #48229607, #48234192 are all replies on the same post. MO > Wrye Bash > You shouldn't use these It really isn't that difficult to learn how to use MO, all you really need to do is read a tutorial or watch a video - which you would do to know how to create bashed patches anyway. None of the other mod managers come close with the tools it has, and I say that after having seen all four. Period.
