  1. I am also having this issue, and have tried the numerous remedies suggested on various forums (see below). Has anyone found a solution to this yet? Tried- * deleting all saved games * reinstalling the exe * rolling back the exe to 1.7.12 vs. 1.7.15 (had to do that anyway due to F4SE being left in the dust by yet another Steam update) * verifying cache * deleting Fallout4Prefs.ini and verifying * Deleting the Interface folder in Data and removing any mod that in any way messed with the interface * Disabled the Achievements mod * Used harsh language * Threatened inanimate computer with torment and death by spork. Here's my plugins list, if it helps (with the "offending" mods I disabled back on, hence why looksmenu is at the bottom as I haven't re-run LOOT)- *DLCRobot.esm *DLCworkshop01.esm *ArmorKeywords.esm *VideoMaster.esm *SpringCleaning.esm *SettlementKeywords.esm *Homemaker.esm *Snap'n Build.esm *Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch.esp *DLCworkshop02.esm *DLCworkshop03.esm *Arbitration - Haven't played since then, so trying to rebuild everything and now running into this glitch
  2. UPDATE! Apparently, Bethesda coded the game through Far Harbor and possibly the most recent update so that you HAVE to have a bethesda.net account, HAVE to log into it through the Mods tab in the game's main menu, and enable all of your mods EVERY SINGLE TIME you load from a saved game. Now, I refuse to get a bethnet account and jump through these hoops and deleted the bleeping game in anger at this, so I have not been able to test it personally. However, that is what hours of googling and asking people who have troubleshot this has netted as the most likely cause. Personally, I am furious about this, but that's me. I wasted money on a DLC that has made my game effectively unplayable with mods unless I either A) use their select mods, or B ) spend ten minutes enabling over 140 mods every single time I load a saved game. To Hades in a rocket sled with that, I'll play something else till they un-bugger this.
  3. I have spent two days googling around for this. Since people keep posting the whole asterix fix and ini file tweaks we keep telling them we have already done, here's the tl;dr list of what I have done- 1) Verified plugins file has asterix before each file 2) Verified both the prefs and custom inis are done correctly 3) Verified that all of the mods are checked in NMM 4) Yes, everything worked fine after 1.5, only went wonky after I installed Far Harbor 5) Have the current FO4SE and NMM, and all mods are as up to date as they can be considering 6) Verified integrity of cache 7) Waved a chicken's foot at it while dancing about chanting pasta recipes in reverse Latin. So, basically, either the current version of FO4SE or Far Harbor borked the game, because those are the only two changes from when it worked to when it stops recognizing any mods in-game. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
  4. I am having the same issue, and even with the updated LOOT it only shows FO4 and the DLCs checked
  5. In response to post #15503265. #15522840 is also a reply to the same post. copy-and-past the Mods and Install Files folders from c: Games/Skyrim/ to c: Games/Nexus Mod Manager/Skyrim/ , and overwrite the files. This will put the mods in the folder needed and synch NMM with them, as well as any customized category folders you may have created. Open NMM, and you should see everything back in place.

  7. In response to post #15450665. #15451400, #15472820, #15488980, #15499685, #15502560, #15506615, #15514540, #15519470 are all replies on the same post. Dusk- before casting aspersions on peoples' intelligence or competency, try to remember that NMM has not asked for an update for that particular folder for a lot of us for over a year, and the one it prompted looked nearly identical to where my mods were previously located. It is a common enough mistake to have netted several people asking about it here, so solutions would be far more appreciated than insults. As for solutions, here's what will work- The new install folder looks the same at first glance, especially if you haven't updated folders in a while. What you need to do if you are having this problem is copy-and-past the Mods and Install Files folders from c: Games/Skyrim/ to c: Games/Nexus Mod Manager/Skyrim/ , and overwrite the files. This will put the mods in the folder needed and synch NMM with them, as well as any customized category folders you may have created. Open NMM, and you should see everything back in place.
  8. Something I would dearly love to see- because it would be beautiful AND lore-friendly for Skyrim's feel- would be armour based on the Riders of Rohan. Here is a concept idea from Lord of the Rings Online-
  9. honestly, the vanilla dragons are so bloody weak they should be hatchlings, and just increase scale and potency from there :D
  10. The mods in question weren't from Steam, which I avoid using like the plague, but that was the only way we could figure that they wound up back on my HD after I scrubbed the batsnot out of it. I knew the files were likely in the geom folder, but didn't know how to read them. Thanks for that, it's a BIG help! :)
  11. Apologies if this seems brusque, its late and my toddler refuses to go to sleep. I have an issue wherein old faces and hairstyles that were added by a mod or modified by me a long time ago have suddenly reappeared and re-asserted themselves with a vengeance. This is happening with Aela especially, but it is spreading, and now affects Ysolda, Lydia and Camilla. Downloading mods that change their appearance do nothing, its as if they weren't even installed. I check the cue, and sure enough they should be working. Load it up in CK, and the appearance is as it should be- I can't even find where the old appearances are coming from, I can't find the files anywhere on my computer. To make matters worse, I COMPLETELY wiped Skyrim- every file, folder, saved game, etc., even the obscure hidden ones- and then re-installed the game and CK. For a while, everything was fine, and mods worked. Then, out of nowhere, Aela went funky. A friend of mine claims that the old appearances were somehow saved by Steam on their servers and forcibly shoved down my throat by a file update, but I have no idea if that is even possible. I know it's not a mod conflict issue as I have tried without any mods, tried with all mods, and everything in between, and the game was working fine for a month before they popped up. So, I am about to go nuclear on my computer again, delete EVERYTHING, add Steam and Cloud to my virus blocker to keep it from molesting my computer against my permission, and then bathing my hard drive in chicken blood while waving the foot over it to try and get the bloody thing fixed. I, therefore, would be grateful for any advice as to how to fix this. Seriously, the chicken's fate is in your hands, help me :D
  12. Bringing this back on topic... I'll break this down simply. Apologies if this seems abrupt, I just prefer to keep it to the core facts for ease of review. Situation: Purchased a new desktop- HP p6-2033w running Win 7 64 bit (home edition)- and installed Skyrim via Steam along with the same mods I've been using on my laptop (which uses the same OS precisely). Mods include a lot of texture replacers and such, and work fine on the laptop (other than performance lag due to it's graphics card), but are not registering at all on the desktop. I start a new game, and vanilla textures only. Mods: Largely new weapons and armour, which I haven't gotten access to a forge to make, but also included are cleaner skin and realistic hair texture mods that should be kicking in from the start as they did on my laptop. Firewall: Windows Firewall Mod Manager: Nexus and Steam (60/40 ratio) Install Locations: Steam in Program Files (x86), Nexus Mod Manager in Program Files Patches and Such: It should be updating automatically, and it downloaded through Steam Legality: yes Solutions Attempted Thus Far- * Uninstalled and re-installed the mods * Verified that the SkyrimPrefs has the file= 1 code * Verified that the specific mods are, in fact, checked * Went to AppData\Local\Skyrim and attempted to reset it to not be Read Only, but it keeps blue-boxing despite my best efforts and the fact that none of the files in the folder are Read Only * Right clicked Nexus, Steam, and Skyrim and ran as Adminstrator * Settings adjusted to run in compatibility mode and as administrator for all programs- Skyrim, Steam and Nexus * cmd prompt attribute adjustment for the specific files, normally, as administrator, and from the root directory (the attrib -r "c\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Skyrim\*.*" /S /D reset, as well as variations on the same) * Reset ownership of the files (and eventually the whole bloody C drive) * Downloaded and used Attribute Manager to reset the folder attributes (they turned back to blue-box as soon as I clicked OK) * Rebooted so many times it's becoming a career * Set User Account Controls to non-zombie (i.e., all the way to the lowest setting) * Verified security permissions * Verified ownership * In cmd prompt in the root folder, rest with attrib Skyrim -h * Waved a chicken's foot and sacrificed a bag of Cheetos. Edit: I went through folder-by-folder, and the settings are the same in my laptop and desktop for the Read Only issues. So, I haven't the slightest bloody clue what's going on.
  13. I'm having this exact same problem and have tried the remedies listed here, including patching and using the Creation Kit. Nada. Going to try wiping it completely and re-installing, booting up vanilla with no mods, and see if it is the mods or the game. I have seen online where people are having this same issue who have not installed ANY mods, so it may be an instability in Skyrim itself. As an aside, I had a bootleg copy of it while overseas (it's legal over there, can buy bootlegs everywhere) that cut out Steam entirely to try Skyrim out, and it worked just fine, so it's something to do with the retail/Steam version.
