  1. How do you attach hand .nifs to outfits? Is it done is the Creation Kit, Blender, or somewhere else?
  2. I've been plagued by the ear/beard gitch pretty bad as of late. It looks like this. My question: Is it possible to reset chargen data/facial meshes in-game? Or even something outside of the game like how archive invalidation can fix the missing face textures in FNV. I'm asking because I have a crackpot theory that Looksmenu used fix this bug because it would just reset the chargen or meshes (or whatever gets all janky during the loading process between saves) when you changed presets. I'm wondering if once Looksmenu began to add other cool features like the body morphs, etc. that it also changed how the faces were handled. It could also be that Looksmenu still fixes this just fine, and there's something wrong with my game or my load order. But I'm so sick of this bug and I'd love to see if there's a more concrete solution out there. Of course, I have no idea how this stuff works, or if anything I've discussed was or is remotely possible - which is why I'm asking you lovely, knowledgeable people. Do you know if it's possible to reset or prevent the face stuff from being altered? Through the CK, archive invalidation, altering .ini files, or anything. (Bonus points if it could be run in-game for maximum convenience.) I'll take what I can get, though. I miss having normal looking NPC's for screenshots.
  3. I don't know what's going on anymore. I also have no idea if it would help to lay out the whole issue, but I'll give it a shot. The reason this is bugging me so much is that the NPC most affected is my companion Birdie, who I take a lot of screenshots with. I also have FROST installed. So every now and then, I'll go restart FROST from its base save file, and then go collect Birdie in Forest Grove and reapply his face preset. Which used to work fine. But now when I apply it to a Birdie who didn't have the ear bug...after he's given the preset he has the bug. Sometimes. This can happen during an old FROST save, or a new FROST save. When I start with a new save his ears are fine. But if I were to die and the game would reload to my last save, his ears will be buggy afterward. It also happens if I load from one save to another in-game, but not when I save and exit to the desktop and then relaunch. If any of that made sense. Which I'm starting to doubt. What I've tried: Removing the Bethseda.net mod, moving Looksmenu up and down my load order, and trying LOOT organizing again. Nada. The problem still persists pretty badly through every other save. So I waited, like, a day or so to reopen Fallout 4 and now his ears are fixed again. I don't know why waiting helps, but it always has, even when the other solutions were working too. I just wish it would be easier to identify what's caused this to get so much worse? Or even why Looksmenu used to revert the ears, and now it doesn't? If you had any final thoughts on the matter, I'd really appreciate them. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to wait for a bit before I intend to open the game and take screenshots with him?? :turned:
  4. That's a good point, but even completely unmodded games have the same issue with the ears. It seems to be a loading bug along the lines of the brown face glitch, but I wish we could tell exactly what's causing this one. At least the brown face bug usually has a fairly straightforward cause. I did manually organise my mods because LOOT won't organise FO4 for me anymore. (Even though it organised Skyrim just fine.) So that could be part of the issue. And I'm not quite ready to commit to Vortex until it's out of Beta. Besides that, the only new hair mod I've added recently was from Bethseda.net. Which could very well be the conflict? I'll have to test it...
  5. This is such a positive outlook; thank you for looking towards the future and bringing us some perspective.
  6. I would never expect mod ports like that on the Nexus, because, illegal. But is there any reason to think they wouldn't show up somewhere like GUN??
  7. The one where the ears become deformed and patches appear in the beard. Has anyone come any closer to understanding what this is and why happens? Or what we can do about it? I'm only asking because it's happening more frequently and the old tricks I used to get rid of it are rarely working anymore. Changing presets in Looksmenu used to revert the facial features, but that hasn't been the case lately. Swapping between different character saves doesn't help either. I'm at a loss. Have you guys been having more difficulty with this lately, too, or is it just a problem with my load order/game?
  8. Hi there! I've finally decided to add a little pizzaz to my screenshots by installing the freeflycam plugin for FO4. The only problem being it's not currently updated to the latest F4SE update. Would I have to roll back to an older game/f4se version to use it, or is there a way around this? Any help you could offer would be very appreciated.
  9. Hi! I was hoping someone more experienced at Outfit Studio could explain why this kind of stretching happens in game? (I was working on an outfit mashup at the time.) I'm assuming it has something to do with the weight or the bones, but I don't know what to do about it. Any sort of guides or explanations you could link to would be very helpful!
  10. Minor Spoilers: I hadn't realised that the junkyard was central to the Hubologist questline. Or that the UFO was an actual functional ride. So that complicates things.
  11. I’ve been meaning to learn how to mod for a while now, but I think I finally have a project I’m willing to dedicate myself to. What I was thinking of was turning the Nuka World junkyard into a player home/ settlement a la Slab City in California. It’s already got some of the vibes going for it, but what it really needs are those final, truly eccentric, lived-in touches. Like turning the UFO into a sweet pad, using Nuka World assets to make art installations, and add stepping stone paths to tidy the place up a little, etc. I’ve got a lot to learn, so I’ll be reading up on modding guides once I post this, but I’d appreciate any feedback you have. What do you think? Is there anything you’d like to see at a place like this? Let me know! Some photos of Slab City for reference: http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ijh4-axlkL8/T1jdzCkanXI/AAAAAAAAVOk/5Ai9xlvFNjA/slab-city-california-5%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800 http://lh4.ggpht.com/-VrCehNaEAv8/T1jdlHpvmBI/AAAAAAAAVOE/fTU_nmVim8k/slab-city-california-8%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800 http://thequeenbeebuzz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Slab-City-9-20151.jpg
  12. Every time I try to use the speak command with Piper nothing happens and it'll exit the companion dialogue menu. She still starts conversations and accrues affinity points, but I can't talk to her. I've tried removing her from faction 75d56 with no success. I also know there's a bug that causes this if you walk away from a conversation, but I don't ever remember doing that. Plus, I've tried switching to different characters and Piper still won't speak to me. I'm assuming even if I did walk away from a conversation in one save, it shouldn't affect the others, right? I haven't added any new mods recently and things were working fine previously. Piper is the only companion affected as well. Any thoughts?
  13. Whoo! I'll give this a go and get back to you. Edit: You're a saint! I uninstalled NMM and deleted those directories and I'm able use NMM again after reinstalling it. Thank you so much!
