  1. Hi The title says it all on this one. I've been modding Fallout 4 for over 4 years now, but I've never ran into this issue that I recently ran into, and I'm kind of stumped on it. Long story short, back in February, I had to reinstall Windows on my PC because my license key "went bad" or something like that (the "Activate Windows" watermark popped up out of nowhere one night), which meant I also had to reinstall Fallout 4 and Vortex. Well, since then I have often battled black textures on stainless steel and chrome objects, although not all the time. Sometimes I'll start up the game, and everything is just fine, like it should be, and the rest of the time, those aforementioned textures are black. The only thing I could think of that would cause this is that LOOT (I use Vortex as a mod manager) has my load order set differently than before I had to reinstall everything. I know for certain that no new mods are causing this since I didn't install any new mods from before I reinstalled everything to well after. Any insight as to what might cause this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
  2. It's a possibility I suppose, although I'm beginning to think this is a bug because for one, since I began using Vortex upon initial release, I have always kept it up to date, and for two, there isn't only one notification in my case, contrary to what you are saying oddly enough. More specifically, when this issue occurs, around 3 or more individual notifications will pop up one after another "checking archives" - essentially spamming my notifications with it.
  3. I appreciate the response, but if I was willing to do that, I would have already. I'm just hoping that somebody knows something I don't about this.
  4. Hi So a couple months ago I was fiddling around in Vortex after I had just reinstalled Windows, Fallout 4, and Vortex. Well, for the heck of it I tried the "Restore Save Game Plugins" feature out in the Save Games tab (to ensure that I had no missing mods), and boy have I come to regret it. Since then, every time I go to install or uninstall a mod, Vortex checks my archives MANY, MANY times (usually 3+ times over when installing just one mod). I've tried to find some kind of setting to disable this, but haven't been successful. What bothers me the most is that Vortex never did this before I used the "Restore Save Game Plugins" feature, and that it just spams my notification center in the top right when I'm installing / uninstalling a mod. If anybody can give me some pointers on what I might be doing wrong, or what I need to do, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
