If you kill a pet the kid will be mad at you for 24 hours and you'll not be able to tell the kid to do anything during that period. With Meeko I noticed that when I dismissed him outside of the house he would make his way back to the shack. Obviously, some kind of bug but it's one way to get rid of him. There's also a mod that turns Meeko into a husky and NPCs won't say "stupid dog" to him anymore. But if you want a kid to accept him he'll have to be introduced in his original form or he'll be rejected. Just activate the mod afterwards. Edit: If you kill a pet both kids will be mad at you

A CTD once every 3 to 4 hours isn't bad. I could live with that. I get them every 30 to 45 minutes with a GTX 460. I have a lot of mods installed I just can't help it. I'm pretty sure it's due to VRAM bursts because it seems to happen after traveling through many different areas. I'm getting a card with 2GB of VRAM any day now so I'll find out if that fixes the problem. Have you tried the texture optimizer? It'll free up a lot of VRAM with no noticeable loss in quality. Your character has to be at level 22 or higher for the Jarl to ask a favor of you which leads to becoming thane. If you meet this criteria and the dialogue still doesn't show then it's most likely a bug. Go back to a previous save if you can.

EVGA doesn't give lifetime warranties anymore, it's 3 years now. You can purchase an extension though. I would still buy from them because they are pretty quick with their RMAs. Asus is a great company, I always get Asus motherboards, but I don't have any experience with their warranty service. Customer support is always something I strongly consider but it's up to you. As for the the video card, get the 660 because it's stronger and if you can get it for cheaper than that's just a bonus.

I don't know what exactly was causing the problem but it's fixed. I deactivated all the mods that I had installed, loaded up the game, saved, shut down the game, reactivated the mods and loaded up the game again and the problem is gone.

I've had an animation issue since Dawnguard that affects all vampires in the game including original ones such as Alva. When vampires sit down and pull out a drink or food the animation never runs to completion. The animation runs for maybe a second or so and starts over again in a loop. So vampires keep pulling out food until they get up and do something else. This problem doesn't happen to any other NPCs, just vampires. The only animation mod I have installed is for female running and that's it. I have no idea what could be causing this.
