  1. It'd be really awesome if anyone could help me with this one.
  2. Dear community, I can't use the invisibility spell properly anymore because something very strange occures as soon as I enter the Ratway Vaults (which you have to in the main quest). Usually when you cast invisibility on yourself the active effect (that little shield) appears in your top right corner. And when you perform an action or cast a spell the symbol disappears. BUT once I have visited the Ratway Vaults and I become invisible the symbol wouldn't appear for a time except when I change weapons or spells or just randomly by chance. But then it wouldn't go away when I'm not invisible anymore. And as long as the symbol is there I'm not able to cast spells on myself. I can't use wards. I can't use protection spells and I can't get invisible again. Well actually I can cast the spell. And it drains my magica but it has no effect. Oh and I can't use powers that target myself. It is very gamebreaking. When I'm not invisible and the symbol is in the corner there is nothing explaining it in the magical effects list. This active effect symbol will eventually disappear after a couple of minuits or when I wait for an hour. And then I'm able to cast again. Strange thing is that this bug occures when I enter the Ratway Vaults but it would stay from then on. I have absolutely no clue, what could possibly cause this. I tried some things ingame like turning off smartcast and setting sperg to brawl mode before entering the vaults as well as not using any spells or abilities while I was in there. It wouldn't help. I don't know if this could be the result of some mod error as I think that there is nothing modded in the Ratway vaults, except textures, lighting and levelled items of course. Maybe some of you nexus forums experts have stumbled across this bug. I couldn't find anything about on in the web. I would be extraordinary greatful if anyone could help me understand this one or even give me a hint or two on how I could get rid of it.   3. Actually I can use shouts but I'd still be unable to cast anything that targets myself. It is still very gamebreaking though. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks a lot

  5. @PillMonster Thank you for the answer. Do you mean that the RAM usage is stocking until it reaches the limit or is it that high just because of the amount of mods? So if the VRAM has to sit in the RAM anyway, wouldn't that mean that EnBOOST, which transfers some of the RAM usage to your VRAM, would be useless then? I have the performance monitor running always now which is very helpful (It shows the recources used by my computer in game). It should be usable with other games as well. It actually tells me that my RAM is just fine(about 600-900 MB)(due to ENBOOST I guess) but that my GPU usage reaches over 90% from time to time (probably due to ENBOOST as well). I'll try the Ordenator Optimizer as Redaktion 125 suggested which supposively further reduces RAM and VRAM usage by compressing textures and stuff. But I'll have to read more about this first. Where you able to solve the problem?
  6. @Reynard131 Thanks. I never thought of SSME being a problem. I followed Gophers guide on it and he said it would work just as fine as altering your skse.ini settings. So I'll try to get the SKSE.ini settings running again then. (I actually wonder why they wouldn't work in the first place even though I was following (again) Gophers guide on them... ... I'll find out.) I am taking it seriously. It's just that I was so sure that my issue was due to some script conflict that I was not able to detect. And that frustrated me. It's not a crowd souced modlist. I was actually working on it for several weeks after work, reading guides viewing videos on it and basically learning about modding Skyrim trying mods out and so on. I wanted to get it right and to know what I am doing while modding Skyrim. I was as stupid as to install a bunch of crap and then wonder why the game woudn't work ten years ago when modding Morrowind. And I wanted to never have that expierience again. I must have become somewhat overconfident and that I am sorry for. I'm very grateful for every advice given and for the time sacrificed.

  8. @ironbender800 WTF? I am sorry it I offendet you in some way sir. But I definetely don't enjoy being bitched upon just because I was asking for help. All I tried to do was providing all the information about the issues I have and about what I've been doing in order to get rid of them or to avoid them, as mentioned in the "How to ask for help"-section. And I tried to poind out that I was not just recklessly installing a "bunch of crap" into my load order without thinking of it or testing it. Alright then I have 85 mods installed right now. one third of them in order to enhance game mechanics, the look or the performance, one third of them in order to enhance immersion, one third of them in order to add new content or some fun stuff to the game. I have tested all of them. They all work but I get random crashes which did not occur while I was testing and if so I uninstalled the mod I was currently testing and started the whole process from scratch again, beginning with uninstalling skyrim and all mods, so that no bad scripts or anything like that would stay in my load order unnoticed. I've looked through your two guide links and especially the wiki.step-pro...link does seem to tweak and add a lot of things that until now I never dared touching. Just for orientation, what, in your opinion, would be a reasonable amount of mods to have in your load order? Thanks anyway P.S. Oh and concerning this post of you in the "How to ask for Help"-section Amazes me how it seems like so many people do NO research on their own before making posts. Like you said most can be answered with a simple google search. Games been out almost 5 years. Learned how to use Mod Organizer and to setup Perkus Maximus from this guy Those of course are great recources. And some of them I had already been through as I was trying to modify skyrim without having the usual Bethesda issues. And pretty much all "How to solve certain problems"- guides, as awesome and helpful as they are, keep telling me that my random CTD's occur because of Memory issues or bad recource management. But I have already taken the steps they know of in order to solve memory and recource issues and to prevent crashes. That is why I am here at this forum, asking for help as a LAST attempt to solve my problem AFTER my research did not give me the answers that lets me solve my problem. Anyway, getting rid of these NPC mods might actually do something for me and that I am grateful for. So I'll try uninstalling them even though I adore them. So Thank you
  9. @Ironbender 300: Thanks for the tips, i did two testruns after every mod I installed (one with an existing save and one starting a new game until I reached Whiterun) and I only installed mods that where recommendet by either brodual or gopher. I read all the descriptions and followed the installation instructions, or if the mod was more complicated to install I watched a tutorial exacty following the given directions. I watched out for possible incompatibilities. The thing is that I probably should have done a longer testrun on each mod as the CTD's occur in the wilds randomely and I did not expierience them while I was testing. I installed UFO because brodual recommendet it as the best follower mod in his top 10. I read about it being replaced by the follower framework mod on the steam network. But steam also said that it shouldn't cause any serious issues. The last CTD was while I was traveling alone without ever having spoken to a follower. You think It's best to replace it? I got rid of SKYtest and OBIS. So that the only mods left that are adding new creatures are Immersive creatures and Deadly Dragons as well as populated lands roads and paths, immersive patrols, and incosequential npc's for adding NPC's. Do you think they are not going well together? I did follow Gophers guides on installing mods that increase stability and performance even though I can't run the game in windowed mode as I get a strange diagonal line dividing the screen when I try to do so. I started from scratch four times by now, getting somewhat proficient and exhausted. It's unfortunate that the game keeps crashing even when you get everything right.(which I don't claim for myself) when I tried a playthrough it left me somewhat paranoid, especially because it kept crashing while I was quicksaving, which led me to manually save every couple of minuits. That kind of drains all the fun out of the game... ... Thank you for your time
  10. @Reynard 131: Thanks for your answer I have SSME enabled which does the same as the SKSE memory settings. I tried the SKSE settings with defaultHeapInitialAllocMB=512 scrapHeapSizeMB=256as gopher suggested but it did't do anything and the game would crash when it reached 256 in the first block or 128 in the second block. So I deleted them and installed SSME instead which worked. I tried it out and pushed the memory as far as possible by creating about 350 whiterun guards in Whiterun via console.And when the game crashes the memory is usually not even close to it's limits. It just randomely appears, mostly when I'm outside and sometimes when I'm in the crafting menus.
  11. OK, I had another CTD after 10 minutits in the wild near dustman's cave. The performance monitor told me, that at the moment of the crash the used Vram was fairly high but still just below average...The RAM was very low and the memory blocks where not even close to their limits. So, before I start uninstalling every mod and trying it out without any other mod which would not help me much if the cause for my issue is indeed a mod conflict, as well as trying out each combination of mods that are possibly conflicting always rushing though the whole intro and wandering the wilds waiting for a possible crash to show up , which would take years or maybe decades, is there an easier way of finding out what exactly was causing the crash? Because if not I might as well just have to uninstall it and never come back, even though I was looking forward to play Skyrim for the last five years as soon as I'd have a time off from work, which is now.   13. @ ironbender800: Thanks for that guide. It has been quite helpful. I made a merged patch now which I hadn't done before. As well as I got rid of all 5 mods with dirty edits except cloaks.esp which only had 2 itm's that I cleaned. And I deleted OBIS. All that seems to stabilize the game further. I deleted all the old saves and started a new game. Then I rode through the wilds of Skyrim and got a CTD after about 2,5 hours, which is not too bad for a moddet game I guess. Still it would be awesome to get rid of that too... @ redaktion125 There are two mods that, according to the authors, I have to install after the Helgen sequence in order to avoid the flipping cart glitch. These two are Immersive Armors and Helgen reborn. I tried to start the game with either of those enabled but I always get the bug and the cart would never arrive in Helgen, as well as you get eye cancer looking at the chaos on your screen. If you know another way around that except enabling the mods after the intro I'd be quite keen to learn about it, because these two mods are exceptionally awesome. As for the resouces of my computer. That of course is possible, even though I hope it's not the case as I just baught it, spending a decent amount of money on it. I have 8 GB RAM and 4 GB VRAM. I did enable EnBOOST and SSME. According to MemoryblocksLog my last CTD was at 276 MB in the first block and 182 MB in the second one even though they are set to 512 and 256. (I pushed them that far on one occasion just for testing and it worked) So it is probably not a memory issue. Is there a way to visualize the pressure on my VRAM? Thanks a lot for the effort
