  1. Understandable, BUT, if it is working well, it may be best to let it be. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." is often good advice. It is possible that somewhere down the road you suddenly discover it was broke & has messed up all your saves, but that doesn't seem to happen often. Most mod problems are noticeable right away. The suggestions here are only letting us know that some people have found some mods that transpose well & some need to be tweaked a bit. You need not know all the details to benefit from their reports. Take your time & learn new things bit by bit as you come to it. You will be fine. I make sure to save my new character build right away & keep that as long as I want that character. Sometimes I tweak it a bit for a new character, but it saves a lot of work when I want to start again. That start Save is usually free of any mod problems unless you use an alternative beginning. Under the circumstances, you are very likely safe to continue playing what appears to be working. Good luck. ;-)
  2. Skyrim would not be fun or interesting for me without Inigo. Eevee is nice also & they work well together. The three of us seem like a real team who work together. The key is how beautifully Inigo functions though. Brilliant!
  3. I have the same problem & have been forced to simply download manually. Thank you for posting the answer. I think the new update for NMM requires Windows 10 which I do not have though.
  4. Happy birthday! Even if it's not your real birthday, it's your Nexus birthday so "Cheers and beers, plenty!" :D
  5. In response to post #24597589. #24597689, #24597789, #24597819, #24598324, #24598539, #24598784, #24598839 are all replies on the same post. If you roll over & give them control of everything, you are empowering them. That is what they want & it encourages them to go further. Going down without standing with those who are in the 'right' is not a useful option. Taking your toys & going home in a huff has never been the best way to deal with life.
  6. I would love to do an update on your oblivion cats to use HISSSSA's cat meshes & textures. Or you could do it. Someone needs to do it.
  7. In response to post #15671650. #15675460, #15678530 are all replies on the same post. It was not my intention that Nexus institute a police state OR give absolute criteria, only a common sense GENERAL IDEA for EACH person to build upon. Just the idea that an endorsement is like a "thank you" for what the modder has given you would be helpful. This would provide a general guide line & NOT be any sort of enforceable dictate or hard and fast rule. It WOULD let everyone make their own decisions. It would mostly let them know that it was important to make a decision. I am not quite sure why there is such a belligerent reaction to the idea that people ought to thank a modder for the gift of their time & work. If you persist in that attitude you will soon have no modders willing to work for people who only complain it was not enough & cannot even be bothered with a simple button click to "thank" them. I did NOT suggest that Nexus require ANYONE to endorse ANYTHING ever! A guideline is simply a SUGGESTION for polite behaviour that will make the community a better and healthier place. It is not something that is enforced! I disagree with DrakeTheDragon that these endorsements have no meaning for the modder. I have heard too many modders who feel ripped off when people download their mods by the hundreds or thousands & cannot be bothered to give them any sort of 'thank you' or acknowledgement. What other purpose could that button have?? To a modder it is usually the only thanks or compensation he receives for days or years of hard work. Why is that too much to ask? It is only common courtesy. Is this community supposed to be above common courtesy? So tell us, why did you put that endorsement button there?
  8. I am very happy that you are addressing the Endorsement issue. It appears though, that you have posted no criteria that a file should meet to receive endorsements. At least some sort of even vague criteria would help. I get the feeling that a lot of people are confused by this and simply ignore the entire thing. Some may believe that the mod must be the best one ever to receive an Endorsement, & if they want to endorse another one they ought to remove the first one. Others believe that if you download a mod that does not work, or even causes problems to your computer, that you should still Endorse it. How about some general idea such as: if you try a mod and it does pretty much what it claimed it would without causing harm then you really ought to endorse it, even if you decide that it does not suit your particular game play tastes? I think that if people considered endorsements as a thank you for a good contribution to the community, and gave them for every mod they try that works well, then we would have both more and better modders contributing more mods for us. I know there are some modders who have become discouraged and quit modding because of the pathetic endorsement rate their excellent mods received. Endorsements should also be a public service to those perusing the mods to find one that will be useful and enjoyable. If a mod has a lot of endorsements then it ought to mean that it has worked successfully for many people and is safe to try. Everyone should benefit from more conscientious endorsing. I think it would help if you posted the basic criteria that you believe a mod should meet for endorsement, so that users would have some clue about what it means here. Some people are conscientious about repaying the work of the modder with an endorsement & may resent being reminded, but more users are not, & they do need to be reminded that even though the mods are provided for free it is only common courtesy to thank the modders, and useful to let others know that the mod does indeed function properly. A push of a button is not a lot to ask for the hours of work that goes into a mod.
  9. As a Nexus mod user, I want people to endorse any mod that is safe to install and works pretty much as it was claimed that it would. It helps people to decide which mods to try and gives them confidence that it is safe and probably useful. With thousands of mods listed here, it really helps to have a way to quickly evaluate which ones are likely to be worth looking into. As a Nexus modder, I want people to endorse my mod to let me know that it was worth the work and bother to make and share the mod, and it also lets me know that it is not a waste of Nexus space to maintain the mod here. It is a community service to endorse mods that are safe and useful, even if you do not like them for your personal game. It is also the only reward modders receive and encourages them to make more for all of us to enjoy and to make Nexus useful.
  10. I never did figure out how to get that lovely skin for the Mystic Elves without losing their unique lips & having them look like they have thick lipstick making their mouths look different. They never look like this picture. I do not know what all is used to make this Elf look this way, but if you do not have it installed, it will not work & you game will probably crash when you try to load it. Hopefully. pasting it from Face exchange will work. I have gotten some nice skin on a Mystic elf using this technique, but the particular elf had some dependencies & still did not look quite right. I think you might need to know more more about how they got this face to begin with. I would certainly like to know.
  11. DsSn3aksz - I have had a similar problem of not being able to display and change Mystic Elf's hair. I was able to get around that by un-checking a mod in my Data list that added some Nec High Elves (It was NOT the mod that enables you to create and play one. It only added them to that one particular mod.). When my new character was completed and saved, I could check that mod again and all worked well. I do not know if this has anything to do with your difficulty or not, however. It is just one possibility to consider. In my case the default elf had the hair of the prior race that you cycled through in the face generation program and would not change. Other than that one instance, I have had no problems with the version _Ren_Beauty_plus_Soya_Hair_Final-14451.7z, and have not noticed others complaining of problems with it. I do see a lot of people having trouble with the other versions, such as the one you are using, but have not seen the reason or the fix. All versions require careful attention to placing files and folders where the computer is told in the esp to look for them. I usually unpack the mod into a new folder open next to the open Oblivion Data folder and make certain that the path in both windows match- such as Data\Meshes\Characters or Data\Textures\Characters. Otherwise you hide the files and the program cannot find them. If you find a fix, please return and share it with others here. If others had done so, it would have helped a lot of people over many years.
  12. I appreciate your hard work and dedication to improving this already great site. I also appreciate your explanation as to why access has been so problematic on occasion. I have also put my money where my mouth is by purchasing an upgrade in membership before it was even due, so there will be more funds for servers and such. Even purchasing a single month membership will help with upgrading expenses now and allow the team more options. And you get a nice price break for doing it before October. Something to consider if you really like this site.
  13. I am glad to find that I am not the only one to talk back. My spouse is a bit worried about it. "You have my ear citizen." "Right, and back off or I"ll take something more precious." or "I shall return it after I pierce it." or "I'm having it bronzed." or "I have a whole bag of them. Would you care to identify yours?" or "Dam, I wondered what that was." or "I just needed it to wax my boots. Here, have it back all cleaned out." or ... well we hear that one a lot don't we? You look like you've been repairing your gear." "Yeah, that's why I'm still alive." "Your money or your life." "How about no money and your life?" or "How about my sword and your life?" "Move along." or "Keep moving." I hop up and down, and their heads bob up and down. Especially fun when wearing peculiar outfits. "It will likely mean your death though." "Geeze, what an inspiring leader. No wonder you lost the city."
  14. The purpose of mods is to improve your game enjoyment by making the game more like what you enjoy playing. YOU have to discover that for yourself. Mods enable us to play Oblivion in a way that may be completely different from the way anyone else plays it. Some people want to be Thieves or Assasins, others to play White Knights, Vampires, Necromancers, Magicians, Alchemists, or adventurers. You can make up any sort of character you enjoy and change the game to enhance that role. If you give us an idea of the sort of game you might enjoy, we can make some useful suggestions. Otherwise we just report our own preferances which may be useless, even offensive, to you.
  15. HGEC is probably the most popular and you can add the HGEC Skin HiRez 1.0 to get better skin. The Luchaire's HGEC Body Seam Reducer v 1.0 helps reduce (but not fix) body seams and discolorations but other body replacers may have more succesful skin replacers. Roberts Bodies have some good ones. Improved Facial Textures v 1.2 is another good faceial improver that does not have greenish tinges and strange lipstick (my opinion & not necessarily yours). Custom races often have very good skin. Look at Epic and Lattimer Elves. You have little choice in lips with the Epic elves. They are cute but not what I like for my character. It depends upon your taste, what you will enjoy. Look through the Nexus huge collection of files. My picture here is straight from my game and used Mystic Elves from Ren's Beauty pact full and the above (except Robert's body). I understand that one version of Lattemer does not have Elf ears, if you like the face but not the ears you might find that one. You will have to try them to decide, as they look different in your game.
