  1. Thank you, AliceQuinn! I haven't tried to do anything with Toolset yet but it looks like Toolset installed okay. I'm on Windows 10. Some of the instructions couldn't be followed exactly to a tee as the interface for the SQL Server Manager is a little bit different but not so different the instructions couldn't be followed. When I say the interface is different I'm talking about the interface for this download: https://download.cnet.com/Microsoft-SQL-Server-Management-Studio-Express-64-bit/3000-10254_4-75452285.html
  2. Ugh. Decided to try this out. I use Blender 2.78 and I'm getting a Traceback (more recent call last) error. It says SyntaxError: Invalid Syntax. "C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.78\Scripts\Modules\addon_utils.py" , line 330, in enable mod = __import__(module name) "C:\Users\my name\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.78\Scripts\addons\io_scene_nifly\__init__.py", line 36 log.info(f"Loading pynifly version {bl_info['version'][0]}.{bl_info['version'][2]}") Oh, God, that was agonizing to type out and hopefully I didn't make a mistake. I know nothing about python or dealing with the console or how to copy error messages. Please forgive my noobishness. Would love some help.
  3. Hi. I have been searching and searching for a tutorial to follow so I can learn the basics of making armor. The problem is most of the tutorials I've found are old and are for the Blender 2.5 series which has an utterly baffling user interface (I use Blender 2.78). I thought maybe I could make the mesh in Blender, export as an .obj, then open it in Outfit Studio and copy weights and assign partitions. But, then I have to figure out where and how nifskope comes in. If I could find a start to finish tutorial that's not ancient that would help so much.
  4. Well, it turned out I needed to install the XP32 skeleton but now the skirts of the armors are stretching into the ground. I'm sure it has something to do with the weight paint/bone assignments as I see it all the time in Sims 4 creations. I could fix it if it were a Sims 4 item but for Skyrim SE? No clue.
  5. This happened while the BHUNP body was installed. I need to know what went wrong and how to fix it, please.
  6. I'm new to Bodyslide and I'm having a hecka time with this. I'm trying to build this Barbarian Set mod, which is based on BHUNP, and...it's not working. It's a disaster. 1. Do I need to have the BHUNP body installed to use this? 2. Can I use the UNP body, instead? 3. Does the BHUNP body have a UV layout based on vanilla or based on CBBE? (The mod says it needs the textures from the CBBE version). After doing some reading, if I understand correctly, yes, the UNP and BHUNP have the same UV layout. 4. Any ideas what went wrong?
  7. Okay, so I've opened up Outfit Studio and have masked off the areas I don't want to edit but it's not going well, naturally. If I try to move the vertices, the area I'm moving goes inside the boobs. Tried making that area smaller. It just stretched the texture. Tried deflate. Again, the area goes into the boobs. In TS4 you delete all of the body parts covered by the clothing and join your mesh with the body parts. A top, for instance, would include the neck and hands. I'm assuming the same concept applies to Skyrim armor? Or am I way off base. And how would I go about deleting body parts? Can I do that in Outfit Studio or do I need to do that in Blender?
  8. Thank you muchly! Sometimes, you need a start to finish tutorial to understand. It's how I learned to make things for TS4. I started with an earrings tutorial and just went from there.
  9. Geez, well none of that made sense to me, but it's because I haven't really opened Outfit Studio and looked around. I think I'm going to need to follow a tutorial or two to get a feel for how meshes are handled in the game. I'm guessing it's completely different from Sims 4. Some of the terms, nodes for instance, I don't even know what that means. Ugh, I hate being a noob.
  10. Thanks for replying so quickly. I really, really like DX's armor mods such as the Gwelda armors but I hate, hate, hate the popping out nipples. My PC is in my living room and I don't want to deal with annoying comments from my family. And they will make comments. Oh...they will. Basically I thought I could just move some vertices and possibly merge some vertices if moving verts messes up the topology too much. Is Outfit Studio capable of merging verts? And does that plugin work for Blender 2.78? That's the version I use since it's Sims stuff that I make and Sims4Studio does not support any version of Blender above 2.79. Blender 2.8 had a massive change to its interface that I'm not used to but I can use 2.8 if need be.
  11. I do a lot with the Sims 4 and if I were to make a mesh edit for Sims 4 clothing, or any mesh, for that matter, typically I'd open the .package file (the file type that the Sims games use) in Sims4Studio, extract the mesh in .blend form, make the edit, then save as .blend, re-import the .blend to Sims4Studio, then overwrite the original package file. Simple as that. I'm hoping it's that simple for a Skyrim armor mesh edit. Nothing I want to do would involve the weighting or UV map of the mesh. Just a tiny adjustment to a mesh's shape. Could someone let me know what steps would be involved and what tools would be needed for this?
  12. This might be exactly what I'm looking for! I have some armor meshes that I'd like to edit in Blender (just tiny edits--no changes to the UV mapping or weighting or anything), but I have no knowledge about getting the mesh into Blender and then out of Blender, then getting the mesh into the game. I came to the forum specifically to find out how to do what I mentioned above.
  13. I don't mind some sexy armor; the Northgirl one is actually one of my faves. I'm just not a fan of the porn outfits. I'm thinking of switching to the CBBE body since I've discovered that Bodyslide is so much fun. Anyway, yeah, thank you for your answers. In the Sims 3 and 4 the undershirts, bras, leggings, etc. are just textures that are sort of painted onto the body. Like an overlay, you could call it. Looks like the only equivalent to that in Skyrim is a Racemenu body paint.
  14. Thanks. I saw your other post where you mentioned combining items. There are so many armors/clothing that I love...if it weren't for the ass hanging out, etc. I have a husband and children and my PC is in the living room. I don't want to deal with comments/questions and yes, I'm not into looking at nipples all the time, haha. Skyrim isn't as mod-friendly as the Sims games and I figured the solution wasn't going to be as easy.
  15. I make things for the Sims 3 and Sims 4 and I can absolutely relate to that kind of frustration. It took me years to learn. YEARS. The biggest issue with tutorials for the Sims is that people will skip steps because it's just easier and less time-consuming to write a tutorial that way...and then the tutorial author will spend hours answering questions because people are confused, haha. When I was learning, if I ran across a tutorial that actually explained something thoroughly, lemme tell you, the heavens sang.
