  1. Look its the new Pornhub.......cept it's for mods. :D
  2. If authors do it like Chesko did I actually don't have a problem with it. His model is that he is going to release mods behind a paywall on Workshop and then while the mod is being bugtested and updated it will remain there. When it is stable it will be released on the Nexus for free. I am fine with this as I have waited for many mods to be released so it won't really affect me. Also I tend to wait for mods to get the bugs sorted out anyways before I download them.
  3. In response to post #24572719. #24572849, #24573089, #24573569 are all replies on the same post. Fiftheded.
  4. So if someone puts up a mod for $1 per download. What is to stop someone else from making a similar mod and putting it up for free. I just foresee a big increase in copycat mods. Quest mods are about the only mod I can think of that are truly unique from one another.
  5. In response to post #23860899. I think it would harm "epic" mods. The problem is that over time any game is going to have a dwindling player base as people gradually move on to the next game. If you are a modder and you know you are going to be paid do you focus on mods that you can complete in a shorter period of time when the player base is higher or one a huge mod that takes years to make and by the time you release it the player base will be much smaller. Even if you can charge more for the epic mod the number of people wanting to purchase it would be significantly less than before. There is also the problem of competition. If a bunch of groups work on large scale mods after a year or couple of years there will be more and more of those mods released further diluting the market. If I was a modder and monetary compensation was an incentive I would focus on mods that could be completed in a couple of months not years.
  6. After being burned a couple of times with STEAM early access titles that have gone nowhere over the last several months a I worry about quality assurance and refunds if the mods do not perform as advertised. If they can solve that then I am more than happy to pay something for mods as modders do put a ton of work into what they do and obviously they make the games significantly better in doing so. What I see happening is mods pumping out some flashy graphics and hyping themselves into oblivion (no pun intended) and releasing a subpar mod that is broken and then not sticking around to fix the issues. As I mentioned this has happened with STEAM early access games which in some respects reflect what would happen. After all many of the games are being developed by small groups of indie game makers who would be called modders except for the fact they are getting paid.
  7. Please, please, please please please let it be Fallout 4. TES is a great series but pales in comparison to the Fallout games.
  8. I am confused........so profiling is a good thing again?
  9. I have started two new games now and for whatever reason whenever I leave Nipton and head towards Novac all of a sudden my game starts to lag like crazy. Prior to that it runs smooth as silk at a constant 40 fps (I have my framerate capped at 40 in the NVSR plugin). At first I thought it was related to the mission where you have to check out Nipton for the sniper chick but I avoided that this last time around and I still started lagging on the way to Novac. 10. I have this exact problem with Immersive Patrols (the battle bots) and for some reason Vigilant Tyranus. It definitely has something to do with becoming a werewolf because as soon as i infect myself they istantly go hostile while other npcs and vanilla patrols just go on as normal. The weird thing is that this never happened till this last weekend when I did a fresh install of Skyrim and all my mods.
  11. It says that Nexus now supports all PC games. Is there a definitive date for when the Toilet Tycoon page will be up an running? http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/01/10/wot-i-stink-toilet-tycoon/
  12. I love how this site will be fixed at a tiny fraction of the cost and time that Healthcare.gov is taking. :P And this site looks a hell of a lot cooler.
  13. Interested in trying this.......has anyone had their computer turn into a mindless killing machine after installing the alpha? I have a big monitor and lots of cables so my computer could be pretty deadly if it wanted to.
  14. I have tried lots of them and I keep coming back to simply using Realistic Lighting with Customization and some texture packs. They seem to focus on one area for example interiors and they do indeed make them really nice but then they are completely borked in another area like the snow and ground outside being super bright. I am to lazy to switch the ENB on and off depending on my location so I finally gave up on them.
