The other option is just waiting the few days it will take for the skse team to update. It isn't a perfect solution but I have been in your situation where copy/pasting the old version corrupts the game files and ruins the current game files.

Just a heads up - looks like there was an update to Special edition again so will have to wait again for SKSE to update if it does

it should be its for special edition. Just in case I uninstalled XPMSSE and reinstalled it - crashed again as soon as I loaded the showrace screen. It twirls to his face and then POOF. I haven't added any new mods since the new game other then Emfry and umbra clothing mods, just in case this worked.

When I was looking up fixes for CTD crashes with showracemenu for Special edition someone on other sites had posted it. Yes I do use a few Oldrim Mods, Gold spell, 100x carry weight, jump faster which I don't think are interfering but I could definitely be wrong. That's why I'm asking. I had the issue on my last game and ended up staying male but finally when I got to Skuldalfn and then Sovengarde I couldn't keep the game stable. It would not let me save and I could not rest as I would CTD when I attempted. So I made this char a few days ago out of utter frustration. That one I had been playing a month and as the people over in Legacy of the Dragonborn can attest I've had issues. Most of the mods here are what I was using then as I completely uninstalled the game and NMM and then reloaded the game with the mods in the hope of saving that game. I could not and having 550+ items saved in the Library done was hard to swallow

So been playing for a while, my issue right now is CTD whenever I create a character. Doesn't matter if its at the beginning or the way through. I had Apachii hair installed first and did read that it caused issues so I disabled it to at least create the character except it will NOT let me be anything except a male nord with no changes at all. Everything else crashes the game. So I made my stupid nord so that I could at least start playing. This current play-through I used LAL. I will be honest that I have 200+ mods and I have been banging my head as to what to do. Do I disable everything, attempt to change myself to a woman and then 'hope' it lets me actually change her? Right now everything crashes, I tried showracemenu alternative mod for SE and I put the thing as far down on my mod list as possible, I installed the precache killer from Oldrim that had been suggested, which did once upon a time fix issues I did have with other characters I had when I created. I have uninstalled apachii and installed KS and I am still crashing. With one of my gameplays I had successfully gotten a character change using the Player home Skyfall Estate so I reinstalled that and I still crash. I use LOOT and NMM every time. I have no idea what else to do. Please help (If I knew how to show a copy of all my mods I would but when I try to highlight via NMM it keeps wanting to uninstall)
