  1. Installed Vortex, imported working mods from Nexus Mod Manager, Skyrim SE won't load with or without SKSE There is literally no difference in the mods. Skyrim worked fine under NMM. I just did a straight import. And yet, SkyrimSE crashes before getting to the main program whether I use SKSE or not. Also there's no easy way to copy the load order to text in Vortex.
  2. So what I wound up doing is disabling all of my mods including my steam workshop mods, loading the bad save, save a new save, quitting, and then enabling all of my mods and steam workshop mods, and it's working fine.
  3. None of this has worked for me. Any ideas?
  4. I disabled all of my mods, and then it worked. So I just started adding the ones I considered essential, and removing the non-essential ones, and it's still working. Most of the ones removed are texture mods, but I was never able to sort out which specific mod was causing it. If I find out, I'll let you know.
  5. Ulfric claims that he didn't kill Torygg with his shout, but with his blade. However, the use of the shout as a means to terrify and terrorize is likely why they don't consider this to be a mere duel. Also, Solitude is a bunch of Cyrrodil wannabes, I don't know that you could count any of them but Rikka to be true Nords. Its unsurprising that they would consider this murder as opposed to a challenge. There's also the possibility that there's a difference between a challenge between two nords that's acceptable, but people don't think those traditions apply to the HIgh King. Also, he was a welp of a lad who had lost his father. It was most definitely "be a winner today, pick a fight with a six year old" kind of moment.
  6. I think that most of the discussions are missing most of the relevant facts. While some points are up to interpretation, my point was to get as many of the actual facts out there so one could make an informed decision based on available information.
  7. I'd need clarification on that point. It's been confirmed by developers that Hjalti/Tiber was a very, very special case who reached Godhood in at least two different ways; firstly, he achieved CHIM and is therefore on par with Vivec, and a second time (the timeline is not really clear) during the Enantiomorphic Event which made Zurin Arcturus the Underking. A possible third way, his connection to the Numidium, is a lot less clear. I don't think we'll see any case like that again anytime soon. Also the Empire were the ones to declare Septim part of the Pantheon. This was in a book called "The Talos Mistake" You can find it at the Shrine of Talos overlooking Windhelm.
  8. If you think the game source provides additional context, please comment below and continue the discussion.
  9. My biggest problem with the Stormcloak vs. Empire debate is that no thread I've seen contains ALL of the relevant information. So let me lay it on the table: Option 1: Do nothing. The Thalmor win.Option 2: Join the Stormcloaks Ulfric is a piece of s***The Stormcloaks are racistSkyrim is not likely to be taken out by the Thalmor because every motherfracker will pick up arms and fight them. Not just the army. Every man woman and child will murder Thalmor if it tries to invade.Talos is your brother, not ancestor. The only hereditary lineage of Dragonborn is because of the Amulet of Kings and the DragonFires. Every natural born Dragonborn is a chosen of Akatosh. You get to worship Talos and any nord hero you choose.Ulfric was a mentally compromised Thalmor agent who is considered incactive and an unreliable asset, save for his efforts in this war.You are free to kill the genocidal Thalmor as you wish.Option 3: Join the Imperials Skyrim is more prosperousThe Empire is united and strongerThe Empire is very unlikely to commit to fighting the Thalmor. Only the proper army will fight. Most of the Empire is more concerned with their own wealth and comfort than any semblance to freedom, independance, or outrage at the genocidal thalmor. The Emporer was winning the war. The Thalmor used magic to force a treaty. The Emporer is magickally compromised. Aka he's an unwitting Thalmor asset. The Empire are the lapdogs of a genocidal government who even commits atrocious acts against its own people and against Altmer dissodants. The Empire decided independantly that worshiping Talos was bad because any Nord hero could theoretically become a God and drastically weaken the power of the Eight Divines. So you're basically choosing between racist isolationists headed by a mentally compromised Thalmor puppet who is an ass, but have a real chance to free themselves from an oppressive genocidal regime, and while they are racist they hold no institutional power over anyone else outside of Skyrim. The other choice is to back an empire that is complicit in cooperating not just with racists, but genocidal motherfrackers with institutional power not only across the Aldemeri Dominion, but across the entire Empire as well. Racists vs Genocidal Apologists with Institutional Power yeah, what a choice
  10. I'm looking to detect difficulty, and I haven't found a way. Let me know if you find something.
  11. Fifth Generation Mage (WIP) Intentions: Make a mod that makes playing a strict class Mage on Legendary (a) possible and (b) fun. Current feature set: Added Spectral Arrow as a Destruction spell. Has decent damage, but uses a bit of magicka. Has a strong knockback to keep enemies from overrunning you.Stronger Bound Bow. Does a bit more damage. Lasts a lot f*#@ing longer. Does a (for legendary anyways) small amount of life drain over time. Really deadly against small creatures, but you're still pretty dead waiting for the big ones to die if they see you.Mage Armor. This is an improved magick armor spell. It has a base damage or about what a full set of hide armor has. However, with each perk, it increases by the base amount. I think it's like 96 for base, an additional 96 for the next perk, etc. In addition it can stack with regular armor, meaning you can actually have a mage that can tank and be a Dragonborn, instead of a poncy little milk drinker of a mage. Also, it gives you a bit a elemental resistance, as well as a little something extra. For Legendary, it helps. It still won't keep you alive in hand to hand combat.Greater Fireball. While the base magicka cost is 6400 magicka, the benefit is that you get a 5000 magnitude spell with a 5000 area rating. I have attempted to code the conditions such that it will only target hostiles, but no guarantee. So if you accidentally wipe Riften off the map, you only have yourself to blame. If you choose to follow Ralof into Helgen Keep, Gunjar has a bow, some arrows, and some sneak equipment for you. This will allow you to surive the imperials coming in and pwning you. When you kill the female captain, she'll have a note on her indicating that you should go to the Warden's Chest in the Barracks. The rest of the items are there.Besides these four spell tomes, and a bit of justification for them via some handwritten notes, you'll also find some equipment as follows:A Night Vision ring that makes it easier to be a sneak mage when you can see in the dark.A Fortify Enchanting ring that makes it easier to increase your enchanting skill. Some good vanilla mage gear to get you going.Current Plot Points (WIP): Your parents were killed by the Thalmor. They were insurrectionists, and powerful mages. You were being sought after by the Thalmor because your parents were the last living descendants of ShalidorThey fear if you ever unlock his secrets that you can upset the balance between the Aldmeri Dominion and the Imperial Empire. Not much elseAnyway, on a side note, I can't get my video to play inside the main section at the top where the pictures go. So what I'm wanting is some feedback, thoughts, critiques, and suggestions. Thanks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pwwohXyZh8
  12. There's a mod that's causing all of my mage robes' torsos to not show up. I don't know anything about navmeshes, and all I've done is use Skyrim Nexus for downloading mods. I used to use Steam's Mod Workshop, but Skyrim Nexus has much better mods. Can anyone help?
