  1. I am having an issue with the "Menu Mod". It keeps installing itself twice in Vortex. It is also giving me a conflict notification. Doesn't seem to do anything with the game, but I am having trouble with my input settings staying between game sessions - I have to reset them each time I play. My research seems to say the Menu Mod has something to do with the input settings. So I am wondering if this issue is resetting my input settings each time I play. I tried to delete one of the menu mods, but like Geralt, it keeps resurrecting itself. I found an old forum comment where it seems the Witcher 3 extension creates and installs this mod. I tried disabling the extension, but even if disabled, the menu mod keeps resurrecting itself. Thanks
  2. Usually when you get "unknown type" errors and "missing (something)" errors, its because you don't have some patch. I see you don't have the "Unification patch for 1.32 - 1.31". Install that patch and put it at the top of your mods (has to be below the mergedfiles mod). See if that works.
  3. I think I may have figured out what is causing the "Not managed by Vortex" message but I don't know how to stop it from happening. Here is what happened. Because of this issue (commented above) I reinstalled all my mods and merged them which did away with the "Not managed by Vortex" issue. HOWEVER, when i started the game I got a couple errors. Both errors said a script in the "000merged" mod had some coding issues (ending bracket not matching starting bracket). So, I directly edited the scripts with the errors in the "000merged" mod directory. I fixed the issues but now I get the "Not managed by Vortex" message on all my mods. If I can't fix the compiling error in the "000merged" mod without causing this issue, how do I fix the errors? Is this a 'bug' with Vortex thinking the mods are not managed by vortex when they really are?
  4. All of my installed mods for Witcher 3 are listed twice in the "load Order" screen. They have a message telling me they are not managed by Vortex and they are loaded again without the message. Oddly, if I disable the mods that are NOT managed by Vortex (by unclicking the checkmark in Load Order), Vortex tells me to run script manager again. So I do, but script manager comes up blank like all my mods have been disabled. Shouldn't Script Manager recognize the mods that ARE managed by Vortex. It is like the mods that are managed by Vortex are not visible to Script Manager. Also, oddly, when I install a new mod using Vortex, it installs it twice (as managed AND as not managed). Some background: 1. I have the GOG version of W3. Not that that should matter, but just for total transparency. 2. I have the original W3 AND the GOTY W3 (it was a free download from GOG a few months ago). They are both installed in separate directories under a "C:\Witcher 3" Directory. Oddly, GOG put the GOTY version as a subdirectory of the original game. Therefore, the original GOG W3 has its own Mods directory and the GOTY mods directory is in a different directory than the original mods directory. 3. I can see from the creation dates of the mods in the GOTY mods directory that they are installing in the correct directory so my Vortex directories are set up correctly. 4. Rather than set up a new profile for the GOTY version (maybe I should have), I am using the same profile as the original version. Shouldn't matter, the profile doesn't have mod location information - the "Managed Games" listing has the mod directory information. I changed the mod directory in the "Managed Game" listing. 5. The Staging directory and downloads directory for the mods are the same for both game versions. Shouldn't matter because the GOTY mods are being installed in the correct mod's directory. Since I changed the mod directory location, NO new mods are being installed in the original game mod directory (I checked). Any help is appreciated.
  5. I want to report a bug in the Script Merger (actually an enhancement that is not working). I go to the Script Merger "MOD" in Nexus and notice that forum questions, Posts or bug reports have not been responded to by the author in Yeeeaaars. Last Bug responded to by author was in 2017. There are 3 bugs "being looked at" from 2016! If NexusMods is not the right site to report bugs in the program (maybe Github is??) please let me know. I know a new version of Script merger just came out about a week ago, so someone is updating it. I was recently informed by one of the community experts that Vortex has nothing to do with Script Merger; if there is something wrong with it, I need to talk to the programmer. But I don't know how to get in touch with him/her. Thanks
  6. I am noticing that the menus that are "below the fold" in the mod screen do not work. I have 7-8 mod menus. They are not on a second page - I just have to scroll down to see them. The menu is there, but clicking on it doesn't do anything. I do have a second mod page, but oddly, it only has one menu on it. Is there a max. # of menus Witcher allows on each page? Is there a way to fix this? Maybe it is a screen resolution issue. I use 1600 x 900. Thanks
  7. I have an update to this post. I appears that the keybindings screen going blank has something to do with one or more mods I have installed. When I have zero mods installed, the key bindings screen comes back. I added about 6-7 mods and the key bindings screen remained, but eventually disappeared after fooling around with some mod menus. Haven't been able to identify what mod is causing it. Does anyone have any advice on what could be causing the problem, or what I can do to prevent the problem from occurring?
  8. Pickysaurus, I guess I am using the script merger that is part of Vortex because I keep getting the reminder to run it. Funny you ask about script merger being "part of Vortex". Someone chided me for insinuating that Script merger was part of Vortex. They told me, "While it runs with Vortex is is not part of Vortex - it is a separate program done by a non-Vortex programmer." This was brought up when I suggested an enhancement with script merger in the Vortex forums. I was told I need to contact the programmer separately.
  9. Thank you. I am aware that I could set my users.settings file to read only. However, I am wanting to use a less nuclear way. I would still like to tweak my in game mods, which changes the user.settings file, BUT not have anything change that I didn't want changed. It looks like the file keeps going back to the default values. Thanks for the suggestion about the mod.
  10. What does it mean if you get compiler errors on scripts that are in the base(vanilla) game? I do have mods enabled. I do not get those compiler errors when I disable all my mods. However, the compiler errors are not on modded scripts, they are on the base scripts. Weird. Here are the errors: Additional Information: I went back to the base game (no unification patch) and it still is happening. Error [content0]game\gui\commonmainmenubase.ws(73): Could not find function 'GetChosenMainMenuType' Error [content0]game\gui\main_menu\maincreditsmenu.ws(397): Could not find function 'GetChosenMainMenuType' Thanks
  11. Thank you for your response. I don't really care if Script merger keeps the same load order. That is not my concern here. I am asking what priority (load order) is the one that is used for the game? It is the Vortex Load order or the script merger load order or the deployment order. Script merger must read something to know what mods to BOLD in the program. Apparently, load priority is important to the script merger that is why you see bolded mods.
  12. I am trying to get Witcher 3 to work but I think the load order needs tweaking. I am coming across some inconsistencies, so I am asking how does the load order work. I have several attachments that show: (1) I created a dependency that loads "mod_customlocalizationfix" AFTER "mod_friendlyHUD". (2) When you look at my load order, "Mod_customlocalizationfix" is loaded at priority 8, while "friendlyHUD" is loaded at 26. In Witcher, the lower priority loads first. (3) When you look at the script merger, "mod_customlocalizationfix" is bolded with "FriendlyHUD", which indicates it is loaded first. So, my question is: Is the dependency working to load "Customlocalizationfix" AFTER "FriendlyHUD" or does the load order override my dependency? From looking at the script merger, it seems like "mod_customlocalizationfix" is loading first. In answer to your inevitable questions: Yes, I did the deploy option in Vortex. Yes, I hit "refresh" in the Load order screen. Thanks
  13. I am experiencing the phenomenon of the melted face. This is a well-known issue. I read that by changing a specific line in the User.settings file it fixes it, which it does. However, I can't get the setting to stay. Every time I load the game, the setting is back to the default, which causes the melting faces. How do i get the user.settings file to not change. I have a related issue where my mod settings are also not staying when I start the game. I have to change them back to where I want them every time I start the game. Thanks
  14. Update: This is no longer an issue. I figured it out. The Witcher 3 Menu Mod is a mod created by the Extension. I had just not seen it before. Must be pretty new.
