  1. Personally speaking, I'd like to see someone finally tackle the more retrofuturistic looking Fallout 1/2 Combat Armor and Brotherhood Armor. We've had teases from the past, but none of those teased mods ever actually got made. :(
  2. Yeah, I think this is the heart of the problem here. I understand the need for the site to keep the lights on, so to speak, but the sheer in-your-face factor of the new seperate download buttons just immediately reminded me of the aggressive monetization that's currently plaguing the games industry, and actually made me briefly believe that the site was trying to become commercialized and profit-driven. Looking at the replies from various mods and staff that clearly isn't the case, but the current state of the industry has many of us not only more accutely aware of aggressive monetization schemes, but also kind of wary, defensive, and suspicious of that kind of thing. I don't think NexusMods is 'shaming' free users like the OP suggested (I mean, come on get serious), but they could maybe back off a bit with the seperate tiered download buttons. My mind immediately went to how mobile games have seperate buttons for 'wait 6 hours' and 'unlock now for 500 gems', and that's probably not the impression you want to make to your users in this day and age. It is, as you say, poorly timed. It's not really about the need for supporting the site (that reality hasn't changed in many years), but how it's presented. That's all I'm trying to say. Hopefully people will understand I'm trying to be constructive here and as polite as possible. I don't intend to sound inflammatory or anything.
  3. In response to post #73897103. #73899578, #73899788, #73900288, #73900358, #73900928, #73908723, #73911858 are all replies on the same post. Yeah, pretty much. I learned to stop voicing my concerns a long time ago, because all it does is attract the peanut gallery who defend the site's actions no matter what. It isn't new, I was on the BioWare Forums too back in the day. They're all cut from the same cloth of yes-men and fanboys. I was actually thinking my browser had bugged out and started loading the mobile version of the site for some reason, only for it to revert back yesterday. I was happy to have a semi-usable interface again, only to see this thread and learn it was temporary. Us PC users just get left more and more behind, even on a site *supposedly* for PC games. Whatever. I'll figure out how to navigate this ungodly mess of a UI, just like I did the last site redesign.
  4. Yeah, the CC causing instant CTD's at random is a known issue, unfortunately, with no workaround other than to disconnect from the internet; like you did. I didn't know what was causing it either, until TrollenBros made a video pointing out the problem. Certain... ah... let's call them "overly enthusiastic Bethesda fans"... will often say "it's your ISP's fault" (it's a cliche accusation at this point), but trust me; it isn't. I went from one of the worst ISP's in America to one of the best, and the CC-related CTD's still happen at random. It's definitely on Bethesda's end, probably because their server pinged out or some bullcrap. Yet another reason to hate the Creation Club and everything it represents. As if we needed any, with all the forced updates. I tried blocking Bethesda's servers using Windows Firewall, but the game just resets them automatically. The only permanent solution I can think of is to find out the CC's IP adress and blocking it via the Hosts file, but I don't have the spoons to try something that drastic.
  5. I'm currently working on a new BoS overhaul (not n0sf3ratu's Big BoS Mod, but a successor to that mod) that removes energy weapons as a secondary goal. And I don't just mean from the BoS, but from everyone. BoS, Institute, Gunners, vendor lists. Once I get finished with it, I could look at splitting the energy weapon removing component into a seperate mod, if people don't like the BoS changes I'm making.
  6. Ah, never mind. I read the sticky in the VIS-G mod, and CTD on Inspect Item is a known issue. Gambit77's recommendation is to literally just not use it. Feel free to lock, disregard, or whatever. This mystery (but not the one in Cydonia ;D) is solved.
  7. Alright, this probably sounds weird, and I'm guessing it's a load order issue? But I don't even know where to start looking, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. The game immediately CTD's when inspecting any highlighted item, but ONLY in containers. If the item is in my own inventory, the CTD doesn't happen; I can inspect items and spin them around to my heart's content. I guess I can just avoid doing it, but I'd rather find out what's wrong so I can possibly fix it. The most recent mods I installed were VIS-G, and the latest versions of DEF_UI, Armor Keywords, and Armorsmith Extended, and a bunch of F4SE dependent mods (mostly Neanka's). I followed the installation instructions, though I could have always overlooked something. I've already ruled out weapon mods, and Crafting Highlight Fix. If that helps. 8. I know this is probably thread necromancy, but whatever. Someone actually managed to make a ring that forces power armor to use the Pip-Boy, but I never could figure out how to reverse-engineer that concept to do the opposite. I've tried numerous times to figure out how FO4 handles the PA HUD, the voice modulation, and so on, and mostly come up empty-handed. The best guess I've been able to figure out, is that these are handled by the actual power armor race, so it'd require adding this stuff to a unique player race, or something like that. But it looks like most of this crap is hardcoded. TL;DR: I don't think it's possible, to my knowledge.
  9. I know, this request may sound really petty or stupid to some people, because it's mostly an OCD thing. And I'm sorry if it does, so just bear with me. But I was wondering if someone would actually be willing to make all-new models for unusual ammo types. What prompted this idea, was the FN P90 mod; which I really enjoy. I remember trying another mod that changes it to 5mm rounds, but the 5mm round in Fallout 4 is actually really big, almost as large as a .50 caliber round IIRC. New Calibers changes the name to FN 5.7x28mm, but the model itself is still unchanged. So... that's what I'm asking for. A correctly sized FN 5.7x28mm round. Here's some images to give an idea of what I'm talking about. The 5.7mm round is fourth from the left, with the blue tip. It's between a .45 ACP round, and a 5.56mm NATO round. Both of which are vanilla ammo types, so it should be pretty easy to judge the scale. :D Compared to the vanilla 5mm round, it'd be pretty tiny. If the new round was made to just replace the vanilla 5mm round, it'd probably work pretty painlessly and not need any new ESP or whatever. At least in theory; I'm still trying to wrap my head around how FO4 handles meshes and bgsm entries. I've tried replacing models before via Xedit, and it just straight up didn't work. But anyway, I'll stop babbling. Thanks for reading my request. If it's too much trouble, don't worry about it.
