First of all, let me talk about the process of discovering this "height change" problem. I am an amateur follower producer. Usually, I put my follower s in The Drunken Huntsman, which is opposite to the whiterun player's house. There is a small hotel with a pot for NPC to use automatically. So far, all the followers I've made are 1.0 in height, but when I'm playing games, I find that sometimes one follower's height is somehow less than 1, but in another save, she's normal, and the problem is not fixed on one of my followers, maybe Ivy, maybe Minty, or other girls, but so on. There are followers in The Drunken Huntsman 1st floor who will randomly have this problem. This problem was discovered by accident yesterday, and it took me one night to figure out why I might have found it: all the suspicions were directed at the barbecue grill on the Drunken Huntsman floor. All of my followers are currently on the 1st floor. According to SKYRIM system, these NPCs automatically use the 1st floor grill, and when they use it, the problem arises. I think SKYRIM system can automatically reduce the height of NPC (about 9X%) when NPC uses the barbecue grill in order to make NPC of different height play the interactive animation with the barbecue grill naturally, and recover automatically after the character uses the barbecue grill. But! If the player interrupts the NPC when it uses the grill, such as asking her to follow you, the reduced height of the NPC will not recover unless you use SETSCALE 1, as the game progresses, and over time, many of the NPCs that used the grill and were interrupted in The Drunken Huntsman have become shorter... I think maybe the same problem will happen to other NPCs, on other grills or blacksmiths or other interactive objects. So far, I haven't found a good way to avoid this BUG, for my own followers in the Drunken Huntsman 1st floor. I tried putting them on the Drunken Huntsman 2nd floor in CK, and then I found out that the problem was solved - - because there were no interactive items for these followers to use freely on the 2nd floor, they would just stand there foolishly when they got home. There's nothing to do, so it doesn't trigger the body's "shrink - recover - interrupt" problem, which I think just confirms my previous inference. But on this issue, other NPCs are not easy to solve.
