I just reinstalled Vortex after saving a few files. Same issue, but I did find an older article by Tannin saying it is most likely an outside source, like an antivirus. I haven't installed or updated anything except mods for the last week, so I guess I need to see if "they" did. Really annoying, now. EDIT: Well, I've done a few more things as advised on the Vortex Discord. Re-installed Vortex over the existing one. Disabled my antivirus. Changed my UAC. Gave the folders full permissions to read/write. Moved and moved back the staging folder to another drive. Made sure Vortex was whitelisted in my AV. Scanned the drives for errors. Purged and then tried to re-deploy, but it still wouldn't. The only thing I can think of is saving my staging folder and appdata and trying to do a complete uninstall/reinstall of Vortex, but I will wait on that until I get a response from the bug report. Maybe. I'm not known for my patience. :smile:

I'm having a few issues with my Vortex today. It won't completely deploy the mods I just installed, stopping at about 1/3 the way on the bar and then just hanging. It will allow me to install simple mods without a FOMOD, but any FOMOD also hang. I just wanted to see if I can reinstall Vortex and maybe "fix" any corrupted files, etc, without it removing all of my mods. I have almost 1600 and it's taken me months to get my game to a semi-stable place where everything plays together nicely. Any ideas on what I should/can do? EDIT: I have closed Vortex, restarted my computer, and a few other minor things like disabling mods I just installed. I also have noticed I am getting two errors in the Diagnostic Files from the other night that are probably unrelated as they indicate bladeandsorcery was not discovered. I don't play that game and this worked fine yesterday. EDIT 2: Well, Vortex just crashed on me after about an hour of trying to deploy mods and gave me this: An unrecoverable error occurred. Corruption: not an sstable (bad magic number) at C:\Program Fies\Black Tree Gaming LTD\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\levelup\lib\levelup.js217:23. I have not updated Vortex since October, I believe, so this leads me to believe I have a corrupted file somewhere. Question is, what caused it and can I fix it by reinstalling without wiping out my mods? I did report the error and am waiting on a response. I just looked in the app.asar.unpacked\node_modules and I don't have a levelup folder. I have a leveldown. Not sure what that means so I guess I will wait.

I've been shutting down and restarting Vortex before I run it and that seems to be working. As for increasing the memory that doesn't seem to have made a difference. When I add the text to startup.json it disappears each time you start Vortex and the maxMemory stays at 4GB, even though I entered 8GB. So unless I'm entering the text wrong (did a copy/paste) it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks Pickysaurus. I also found a Bug Report on this issue that says you can increase the memory "by adding "maxMemory": "8192" to your startup.json file ". Is that not suggested anymore? EDIT: My Run Detached was selected. I'm probably having memory issues because I run a lot (1300+) of mods.

Oh, I just meant that the 64-bit architecture should take more punishment, especially when I get that annoying message about using too much memory. I've hit that 4GB limit before or come really close. Usually when running DynDOLOD. I just restart Vortex when that happens. I just wanted to know why I even get that message when I have so much more RAM available.

I've got a question about Vortex. From what I've read it is 64 bit with no 32 bit version available. That's fine, I'm 64 bit. But every once in a while when I am looking at the Vortex.log I see something like this: Fri, 10 Dec 2021 01:51:07 GMT - info: memory usage growing fast usage=1.52 GB, previous=1.42 GB, max=4.00 GB I have a 2080ti with 12GB of RAM, with another 64GB of RAM on my machine, plus an i9-10980 Extreme GPU. Why is the max only 4GB? Shouldn't it be more with the 64 bit architecture?

Thanks for the heads up, Dark0ne. That is pretty much what I figured about the servers. I couldn't log in before when I saw your reply to acknowledge I saw this, so there seems to be a little progress so far. I used to hate getting called in on Saturdays when I messed with servers. I'm sure doing it on a holiday weekend is not making it any easier to fix this.

I'm logged into my Nexus account, but I keep getting an Internal Server Error when trying to log into Vortex. Usually I stay logged in, but I woke up to the request to log in this morning. It says on the authorization website that I successfully logged in when I try it, but Vortex is still not logging in. Is anyone else having these issues? When I shut it off last night I was having no issues. I haven't updated Vortex on my end recently but it gives me a warning that it Failed to log in. I am a premium member, if that helps. EDIT: The mod site seems to be reacting really slowly, for me at least, so maybe its an issue on their end.

Whatever happened to the Picta Series mods? ENB Particle Light and A Critters Life? Are they deleted permanently, is he working on something new, did he rename the project, etc? I see a few links with Picta Weather in them, but there is not much about this.

Hi guys, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought if we purchased a premium membership (I did quite some time ago) we basically had unlimited downloads. I'm updating a LOT of mods rom my previous play-thru and I'm getting this message in Vortex and that I won't be able to download until the next hour. Is that just unlimited bandwidth and NOT unlimited downloads or is there an issue? I'm sure no one will answer before my time limit is up. I'm just curious so I can plan accordingly.

That is what I'm hearing elsewhere, but I'm still holding out hope.

So I'm guessing this has to do with Bethesda archiving everything. Crud, I thought all the modders who were going to drop out had done it by now. Not sure how to replace ASM in the future if I need to. Or if he has decided to post it elsewhere. Good thing I have backup copies that now get put into my KEEP folder.

So does anyone know why Mebantiza took Another Sorting Mod down? I'm hoping it is because he is doing work on it or something along those lines. NOT because someone has finally managed to piss him off enough to pull his mods with their inane questions. And yes, I am guilty of that too.
