  1. Ah, now this makes more sense! Thanks for your help.
  2. In the midst of teaching myself how to use the CK for various areas of practice, I've run into a small problem trying to set some background music for an interior I'm working on. I set a new track to the cell under music type, but nothing plays ingame. I notice that a few other interiors (e.g. Doc Mitchell's house) with a specialized track have their interior track set to 1NoMusic. Is there an additional check I'm missing somewhere (Maybe 1NoMusic is a dummy and the music relies on a script that calls on it to assign it properlyl?) or should I be setting it to something specific on entry to the cell, such as some sort of audio marker?
  3. Though I agree on you with the point that Skyrim does feel as though it is a step backwards, Obsidian is responsible for the development of New Vegas, not Bethesda. Bethesda only allowed them to use their engine and published it - You're comparing two completely different writing/developmental teams here.
  4. I'm attempting to recreate a few different varieties of Khajiit, but one thing I would like to add to them is the ability to be recognized as a Khajiit in-game rather than having the race-checks skipped for them as usual per custom races. Is there a flag I can set with them to do this, or is the race check hardcoded into their form ID(I noticed that while making a copy from the Khajiit race, the race would still not be recognized as such by NPCs) and would need the use of a script to work around and have them properly addressed as Khajiit?
  5. I remember seeing it around briefly sometime, but there was a mod that allowed nude meshes to be restricted to romance scenes while overworld meshes wore undergarments. I believe this was done by force equipping the meshes in cutscenes as a sort of armor while the default body retained the underwear mesh variant. If anyone has knowledge of where this mod may be or what it was called, I would appreciate it very much.
  6. I just got back into New Vegas again, but I seem to be experiencing a problem with Wrye Flash and making a Bashed Patch. While the bash tags appear for several mods on the side, they will not be recognized when rebuilding a merged patch, making it impossible to retrieve the records from active mods. I've tried reinstalling Python packages and manually resetting the tags on each mod to no avail. If anyone has any further advice on the matter, it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  7. It was probably Simple Street Lights, you can grab it from Mods Reloaded. Ah, that was it. Thank you very much!
  8. I'm looking for a simple mod that added various working streetlights and other light sources to the wasteland, but no new NPCs or worldspaces/objects (Not ELECTROCITY). I know it used to be on the Nexus, but I forgot its name over time.
  9. It always irked me to no end how the only way to save a bunch of orphans from their headmistress was to kill her, which is somewhat out of character for many of my characters unless I intend on joining the Brotherhood, so my suggestion is this: The player can alternatively "remove" Grelod from the picture by placing a stolen object on her person. They can then report it to one of Riften's guard to have her hauled off to Riften's dungeon (Perhaps through a persuasian check considering her "noteriety" in Riften). Doing this before "Innocence Lost" will allow Constance Michelle to take over and send the typical adoption requests out all over Skyrim if Hearthfire is installed. Aventus Ariteno will relocate to the orphanage as though the contract had been fufilled, but to those who wish to pursue the quest at a later date can simply kill Grelod in the new cell (Seeing as the contract for her death is still out there).
  10. Ironically, despite being exceedingly hyped up for Skyrim, I find myself scurrying back to New Vegas. I find it sad that the modding community has died down a bit, but I suppose it's to be expected with a larger title overwhelming the Nexus currently. On a personal note, I have quite a few mod ideas I wish to take on for New Vegas and I'm currently familiarizing myself with the GECK and it's scripting language to learn how to express my ideas in a more full form. It's a bit ambitious, but I'm hoping to bring a decent mod to the table eventually to show that this game still has great potential behind it.
  11. Not all mods have BOSS priority, unfortunately, so you're going to have to sort them by hand. In regards to Archive Invalidation, Fallout Mod Manager provides an option to toggle Archive Invalidation on and off with a simple click if you look under tools. Also, you're going to want to get rid of "FOOK - New Vegas DLCS"; both the esm and esp. That is most likely the source of your crashes right now. When a mod relies on a master file to load and you don't possess it, the game will refuse to load up and immediately crash to desktop. Since you're using FOOK, you're going to want the "NVEC Complete FOOK Patch - NO DLC" alongside "New Vegas Error Corrections Complete - NO DLC.esm" ONLY. The other error correction esms/esps are optional alternatives that shouldn't be used side by side (Complete has all the functions that Essentials and No CTD have). I suggest moving the esm near the bottommost of your esms, and keep the esp below the FOOK esps, so it will take priority. Do the same with WMEVE as well. As far as the HUD is concerned, you should be able to place it above or below any of the esms as long as it isn't above the game essentials, such as DLCS or FalloutNV.esm, since it doesn't affect many core elements of the game.
  12. Interfaces: MTUI - http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=34902 Does the bare essentials of what DARN does. Textures: NMC's Texture Pack http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=43135 OR OJO BUENO - http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=39755 Both of them are pretty good, it's just a matter of personal taste of which you prefer over the other. Fixes: New Vegas Error Corrections - http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=44204 Overhauls: Monster Mod - http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=41361 Adds a variety of new creatures to the game, similar to MMM Project Nevada - http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=40040 Adds a myriad of different functions to the game, including grenade hotkeys, zooming, sprinting, new implants, an inventory sorter, and optional customizable modules to suit your game experience. In regards to STEP, I can't think of any guides right now that are of such a broad tweaking range. There are a few lighting and weather mods that may be able to achieve a similar effect, however. I would suggest FOMM over NMM for the time being, as it includes functions that are not present in NMM such as importing/exporting load orders, browsing bsa files, and editing/merging esms/esps. It's somewhat of a personal preference however, as I like to be able to have a broader range of control over how to sort my mods. While we're on the subject, you're going to want to consider picking up NVEDIT or Wyre Flash, as these will greatly help relieve conflicts that may persist as a result of two mods that change a similar value, etc. Hope that helps.
  13. Oh man, I'd love nothing more than a playable dragon mod. Maybe even some race-specific quests could be added, such as allying yourself with Alduin, or attempting to follow Paarthurnax's code as an alternative to the Dovahkiin's main quest. OR you could try to overthrow both and set yourself up as the superior master of the voice, allowing the player to call upon other dovah to reign down fury upon civilizations. It would take a lot of work I assume, but this could be something great. Just getting the doavh race playable as it is would be awesome, however.
  14. While there were a great many deal of aesthetic improvements coming over from Oblivion in terms of the two beast races, Skyrim's stock suffers the same thing it did in Oblivion - the beast races look like humans with a new head mesh and tail attached to them. I would like to request something similar to Argonian Beautification and KATS for Skyrim, so the races can look more akin to their Morrowind counterparts, minus the wonky animation involved.
