  1. The in-game location actually even has a blank plaque where it could (should) go, that's close enough in size to just cram it in there. There's even a character named Glory--I'm amazed this never made it into the game! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Gould_Shaw_Memorial http://h.micahmedia.com/RGS.jpg
  2. Is this just while in the settlement? Or after clicking on the workbench?
  3. I'm surprised nobody has done a BB gun mod of any sort for FO4. Maybe there's something difficult about it that I've missed? The charging type weapon exists in the forms of the laser musket and the gauss rifle. Custom ammo seems common for mods. I miss the version from FONV, where it had a low damage, but extremely high crit multiplier. I'd be happy to help any way I can (which is pretty much only textures).
  4. Maybe even a quest to earn their trust/admiration? Somebody made a mod that makes the Children of Atom passive if you possess the mother icon from Far Harbor. Maybe a magic screw driver or empty Nuka bottle that'd do the same for them?
  5. AHHHHH! That's the "Settlement Objects Expansion Pack" mod. I was unaware of it before, but it looks neat--thanks!
  6. I say "Nordhagen Beach" ...I mean, it's clearly Winthrop. The shore shape is actually pretty true, as is the location...just munchkin scale. (speaking of...coffee bites are totally in a carbon copy of a Dunk's munchkin box) But no, it's not underwater--that's it. It's there. Wading distance from the airport. Where a friend passed out drunk on the runway, after walking over at low tide. (he was a minor and they arrested him right quick) It's weird, because they were clearly looking at a real map, only they shrunk and exaggerated all the bits with a heavy, artsy hand. Like one of those cartoony likenesses you can get drawn at a fair or a mall. Ohhhh the accents...they're actually quite good. And it's not named, but the Deliverer is an extremely accurate model, missing only frame etching and a slightly off caliber. And I've only just learned about Lustron homes--I wouldn't even have guessed those Sanctuary houses were based on something real. And again, they nailed it--they're an exact replica!
  7. The timeline has come quite a ways too, and I think it'd be interesting to see how some locales, even ones that have already been explored, evolve. The architecture, texture, and general style of the game, I actually dug very much. The breaks from reality that bothered me were more like (and I've just posted this elsewhere, so apologies for repeating), say Mass Ave or Comm Ave, which cover almost the entire game map, and surely would have survived, are far too distorted and stunted. I mean, realistically, I should be able to follow Mass Ave from Concord to MIT (and beyond!). Could it be nearly unpaved most of the way? Sure? Could it be the most difficult way to go? Sure! And what about the other forts in the Harbor? Where is the Sox logo on those baseball jerseys?! (ok, I actually loved Moe Cronin and his bad history, but come on...Sox logos) I suspect these are issues that only bother a local. Though my hometown was a mere sandbar (where's the iconic hill and water tower?!) at least it's a settlement option. That made up for a lot.
  8. Also: actual settlers? Or are you looking at the map when you're nowhere near a settlement? 'Cause that s*** liiiiiiiieees!
  9. I'm from "Nordhagen Beach" and was disappointed in a lot of the map decisions that Beth made. Lots of borked buildings. Lots of locales that just missed the vibe. In general, it does feel like New England. But places that actually look anything like IRL are pretty scarce--in fact, I can probably list them on my fingers. There's only ONE town line sign I can remember seeing in game (passing the Red Rocket station into Concord). The map is way too compressed. Why is this map so much smaller than FO3? Shouldn't it be bigger? *complain complain complain* But I just saw something that quite literally made my jaw drop. This is the google maps satellite view from "Sanctuary", looking towards Concord: Not only is the cul de sac there with a tree in the middle--there's a farm where I planted rows of mutfruit trees.(?!) Now I know, the bridge location is wrong, the statue is on the wrong side of the river...still...this surprised me. Thought I'd share.
  10. Just to jump in as a Bostonian (from "Nordhagen Beach"--man was I psyched it's a settlement), there's a lot right and a lot wrong. Having so few, and not interconnected subways seemed off (yeah, I know about the mod!). And having one in Revere beach was off too (trains run above ground there). Lots of buildings are crap (Quincy Market, Trinity Church, the Airport), and the good ones only highlight how bad the bad ones are (Fenway, the old State House, and Old North Church are solid IMO). Since some of these precede the timeline split by a large amount, it's...immersion breaking. Sometimes things look wrong, but feel right--Revere is full of raiders (not just a reference to the band--growing up it was a high crime area); Harvard Sq. is full of "zombies" (lots of drugged out folks used to congregate near that subway entrance); Nahant is hillier, but lots of nice houses, so...it gets a pass; Slocum's Joe is a stupid name, but the Buzz Bites box is a spot on Munchkins box; Salem should be brickier and needs a far bigger cemetery, but having the witch museum was right. I'm ok with truncation, but it feels...TOO compressed. I can navigate by the landmarks, but the major streets are way off. Storrow Dr. should be an intact route to 93 (was ramps growing up--into a tunnel after the Big Dig). Tremont, Comm Ave, Mass Ave. should all be unbroken routes through the city. The MIT campus felt right...but Mass Ave goes all the way off the map (Nuka World? Because where the eff is that?) Comm Ave. should go all the way through "Forest Grove Marsh". 90 should continue in an artificial trench/ravine like where does at the west edge of the city, until it exits the map. Both the north and south shore are way too squished. And they lost too many of the islands. In fact, I think that compression is why settlement budgets sucked--things are just too close together. Like how Fenway is close to Hangman Alley, which is probably why mods of HA go laggy. Gotta say, I was super impressed when I looked at where Sanctuary should be on a real map...and there's a cul de sac with fancy houses on it! (and I know, totally OT...sorry)
  11. What radar dish things? From DLC, vanilla, or a mod? I've got all the DLC...
