  1. Hey guys, I hope everyone is staying safe! I have an issue with my installation of the Creation Kit for Fallout 4. All objects with textures are completely black, including the terrain. Markers are fine. It happened randomly; the closest thing I can remember doing is importing a custom mesh as an ArmorAddon, but it worked for a while after still. I've attached a screenshot here so you can see what I mean. Does anyone have any idea what this bug is? Is it a known bug, and if so, how can I go about fixing it? Many thanks! UPDATE: I managed to fix it! For anyone who may stumble on the same issue and find this post, simply delete your CreationKitPrefs.ini file and let the Creation Kit generate a new one.
  2. In response to post #50637042. #50637457, #50641767, #50642032, #50642107, #50661332, #50663927, #50670942, #50684132, #50687542, #50687672 are all replies on the same post. GOG is alright, but the library of games available will never be as big as Steam. It's fantastic for older games, though. I have Fallout 1 and 2 on there, as well as Battlespire and Redguard (although Redguard runs awfully).
  3. In response to post #39475030. I don't think so. It would cause mayhem if they did, and they know that.
  4. In response to post #37088665. #37088895 is also a reply to the same post. Bethesda.net isn't that bad. Modding is done directly within the game. And this time, they understood, no automatic updates. It's nothing like the Steam Workshop for Skyrim, which is atrocious. It also works in conjunction with the NMM without any issues (so far for me). Also, it isn't DRM, AFAIK there is no DRM copy protection on the Creation Kit (the launcher simply controls updates, you can launch directly from the CK), it's because Creation Kit mods are now pushable to consoles, therefore it wouldn't make much sense to host it on Steam, a PC gaming platform. It's probably much easier for them to deliver version updates through there new launcher.
  5. In response to post #35637927. Indeed, if you can spare it, and you use this site a lot, definitely worth it.
  6. Went on Steam, saw this: http://i.imgur.com/nN9iOgm.png?2 What is this? Does anybody have an explanation? The Creation Kit isn't out yet, nor is the Workshop. Odd...
  7. In response to post #27832820. #27832915 is also a reply to the same post. Yeah, I am assuming that this sort of development process will help us work with the REDKIT when it comes. Like a functional tech demo or something. Still awesome, going to try some custom texturing.
  8. Around 28 days ago I ordered and received my SteelSeries Siberia RAW Prism headset. It is a USB headset, works perfectly, great sound quality and microphone quality was brilliant, too. Now, however, I am having problems with it. It has been less than a month, and my PC will not recognise it. I don't have another computer to try it on, and I keep getting a particular error code, like so: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor failed. When I turn the PC on, the lights on it illuminate perfectly, but everything else has stopped working and Windows will not recognize it. I've tried reinstalling my USB drivers, cleanly uninstalling all of my headset drivers, disabling all other audio devices, turning off my PC and unplugging it for 30 seconds, unplugging it and plugging it back in multiple times, changing BIOS settings, and nothing at all has worked for me. Does anyone have any ideas? Am I going to have to return them? Thanks in advance.
  9. Technically you could, as they are incredibly similar to interior cells. The only issues I'd expect you to come across are problems with markers and references. You'd have to ensure the entire worldspace didn't have any bad references, and you'd also have to ensure it is isolated from its duplicate worldspace so that they don't conflict. But theoretically it is possible. Is it recommended? I doubt it.
  10. Started a play-through with Requiem. The combat system is absolutely brilliant! I actually feel like I am accomplishing something when I kill higher level enemies. I've looked for a Morrowloot 4E edition Requiem patch, but I can't find one anywhere.
  11. I am currently looking for modders for an ongoing project, Hjermskiir. I need to get this project done as I am to move on to other things in the coming months. For this, I need the help of a few people. We currently have: 2 NPC Creators1 Dungeon CreatorOST Already ComposedWhat we need: Side Quest WriterTexturer (Armor and Creatures) These are the priorities of what we are looking for right now. The main quest and city interiors will all be handled by me, just like the worldspace is. I feel that there is a lot to come for this project, but due to the medium sized scope of it, I feel we can complete it sooner. Also, the reason we are only looking for a texturer and not a modeller is to take time. If you have experience with NifSkope too, that is a bonus. The most important part, however, is just getting the unique armor done. The Side Quest Writer is also important. There doesn't need to be an incredible amount of side quests as the main scope of this project is to portray a story, but having side quests, rewards, dungeons and other things surrounding this island I have designed will make it seem more alive, as well as full AI packages, etc. I want it to be a very high quality project. If you are interested, please email me at [email protected]. Responding here on the Nexus is not as easy as checking my email, so it is much more likely I will respond if you email me. Here is the link to the project on ModDB. Thanks in advance!
  12. Hi guys, I have been wanting to do another Skyrim playthrough, but after recently playing Morrowind, I feel I would like to experience Skyrim in a way which is more unforgiving and unleveled. I'm talking about things such as more in-depth skills, an unlevelled world, more difficult fights, etc. When playing Morrowind I loved the inherent danger of exploring ruins at lower level, knowing that you are definitely not skilled enough to explore it. In Skyrim, I always had that thought in the back of my head, knowing it would be levelled. A completely unlevelled experience would be perfect. Another thing is the loot system. Making things such as Dwemer armor and Ebony armor much more rare, and making Daedric armor next to impossible to get. Of course, I have looked into Requiem and I think it ticks all of these boxes, but I am really not sure if there are any better alternatives out there. What's a good set of mods (or singular mod) which could provide this experience closer than Requiem, if any at all? I think an experience like this in the engine and the world of Skyrim would be absolutely brilliant. I love the world of Morrowind, and hopefully some sort of unleveling mod and a similar overhaul to Requiem is done for Skywind, too (I really can't wait for that mod). Thanks in advance!
  13. Yeah, merging them as ESPs is a much easier method, which I am in fact using now for my project. I use TES5Edit for it.
  14. Firstly, I'd try installing SSME (Skyrim Start-up Memory Editor) to help alleviate a few RAM limitations. Then try installing ENBoost, and both of these together will fix all of your RAM issues. If this doesn't fix the crashes when going outside, then one of your mods is causing the exterior cells to crash. Good luck fixing your problem!
