  1. Did you hear back from the devs by now? It has been almost a month since you've made this post, after all. :)
  2. What the heck? I was simply telling you why I think you are obviously wrong; unless you want to claim you know better than a site Admin does. I also wasn't angry and/or aggressive in any way. Are you trolling? Okay; definitely trolling. Here; let me try this too: "I will remember this and next time try to include some fairies and unicorns when telling you that I think you are wrong." According to urbandictionary, GMAD means "good music all day" (it's the only definition they have for that). No idea how that's related to this topic in any way, but hey... trolls do not WANT to make sense after all. With that being said; have a nice day! Hopefully. Ima go back to waiting for another update from Pickysaurus now.
  3. That hasn't been the case in forever, though. It already wasn't the case when I've first registered my account here; and it definitely wasn't the case when those two posts I've linked were made; especially not the second one. Refer to my quote from the second post (the one where they've announced the removal of ads for recognised mod authors); it literally says "This effectively means that if you have released at least one mod with 1,000 unique downloads or more, or several mods that have been downloaded 1,000 times in total, you will no longer be seeing ads on the site." It does in no way say it has to be from the same game. Also, I think Pickysaurus, as a site Admin who's iirc working at the nexusmods headquarters (judging by that job at they had a while ago which indicated that all of their staff lives and works there), would know if that was the case and would thus certainly not be saying that something appears to not be working right and that they are looking into the issue.
  4. Aaah. Well; if really that is the issue, I assume it shouldn't be superhard to fix, since the site already (obviously) has a way of correctly counting all unique downloads; manual or not. Either way, I hope your devs will be able to fix this soon. Thanks for the update!
  5. Soooo... it has been almost two weeks now (longer than that since passing the threshold). My unique downloads are now at 1150. Still not a recognized mod author, though. So, can you look into it please?
  6. So, I've got a little question (obviously): As is mentioned in this news-post, a recognized mod author is "a user who has 1,000 or more total unique downloads on their files across one, or more, Nexus sites". Also, a bit more recently there was this news-post made, which states "This effectively means that if you have released at least one mod with 1,000 unique downloads or more, or several mods that have been downloaded 1,000 times in total, you will no longer be seeing ads on the site." Now, I am asking about this because I'm actually over 1000 unique downloads across all my mods for a little while already by now (not by much; but 1077 is definitely more than 1000), but I still get ads like normal and I also do not have access to (or can even see) that private forum for modders. So my question is... why?
  7. Oh wow; someone hijacked my thread instead of making a new one. I'll take the opportunity to update those who helped me: It was the GPU indeed. Exchanged it with a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Strix 4GB and everything works fine again since then. Thanks to everyone for their input and help! ...and now I'll shut up and let you guys help that other person who posted their problem in this thread, haha.
  8. Well; the strange thing is, that it just started doing this out of nowhere. It's not like I was playing for a while and then it started. No; I logged in on a new day and it started glitching; first only a bit and then suddenly more and more. Ever since then, they are really bad. It's a little bit better if I start it with no mods at all and the lowest graphic settings; but even then it starts glitching. GPU doesn't reach more than 50C when it does so. Ah. My previous computer was actually roasted by a lightning strike I think; although at least the harddrive luckily survived. Don't know about the rest. Happened when I wasn't even at home. I have no idea what you mean with checking aging power supplies for voltage problems. Well; I did thoroughly dedust everything inside my computer. Today I have even removed the GPU and blown air into every hole I could find; including through the gaps in it's fan. Some more dust came out. I had once gotten my hands on canned air (well; iirc it's propane), but that stuff is expensive and the vast majority of stores don't have it... luckily I had the (holy Batman... black screen while typing this and a message for driver failure as described in the first post... I'm afraid my GPU is getting worse... and I was just watching Youtube-videos and playing Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 a bit earlier ffs -_-)... eh... oh yeah; luckily I had the idea to use my pump for bicycle tires which has an attachment designed to pump up soccer balls and basketballs and the like... works like a charm to dedust everything. Good exercise for the arms too. xD
  9. Well; either way an used one probably has a lower expected lifespan remaining than a new one. Even moreso since you have no way of knowing what conditions it had in the hands of it's previous user(s). And I don't think I have ever really stressed my GPU a lot. What do you mean with voltage quality? The only difference in electricity I could see is the way it was produced; but that's not exactly noticeable for the GPU. I doubt they prefer electricity from solar panels over that from a nuclear power plant (or vice versa).
  10. Uhm, no. If a GPU has an average lifespan of let's say 5-6 years (since that's around the age of mine), and I buy an used one that already has been used for a couple years, then chances are it will fail me in a year or less from now. While if I buy a new one, I'm good for the next 5-6 years on average (if you take the age of my current one as an average for the purpose of this example).
  11. You're welcome! Because buying new GPU's is really expensive right now, you might want to look into something like a used GTX 970. Just make sure your power supply and case can handle it. Why would I want to buy an used GPU (assuming I could find one)? I have an used one myself; and it appears to be failing soon. Buying an used one and then it fails two months later? I don't think that would make much sense. In the meanwhile; I've been testing with other games. GW2 runs without problems. SWTOR couldn't test yet, because their updating process is so ridiculously stupid that I can't describe it properly here without getting myself banned. Takes forever; and that's an understatement. In fact, it made me miss the last connection that I'd have needed to take to get to the store in time before they close. Now I'll have to wait until monday. No Skyrim for me this weekend, I guess. -_- Also gonna test other games. E.g. C&C Generals. Edit: After doing some more testing in Skyrim, I get some glitches in GW2 as well. Now I wonder if it is temperature-related after all. But that's weird. Why would it... it's not like the fans can't spin or something.
  12. This video will show you how those two GPU's stack up against one another. Thanks! :)
  13. So... I've just taken the GPU out and made sure to properly dedust everything once more. There was still some dust inside the cooling part of the GPU; it's all out now. Unfortunately, that didn't fix the issue at all either. So I guess I'll have to go buy a new GPU this afternoon.
  14. Most GPU sensors including Nvidia's don't tell you anything about a card's memory and other component temps. When you were cleaning out your computer with air, did you also remove your video card to check for dust around the fan(s) and inside the fan housing? If not you should, especially after several years. I'd try reseating the card anyway, check for dirt in the slot and clean the card's edge connectors with a pencil eraser while you're at it. The fact your glitches are worse after disabling VSync indicates an overheating problem imo. Have you checked your CPU temps during gaming as well as your 680? The CPU temperature doesn't go higher than it usually does/did from playin Skyrim. I'll try reseating the card tomorrow then. If it doesn't help, I will probably go and buy a new GPU in the afternoon. I did actually blow air into the fan of the GPU as well, though. Well; I'm not exactly rich at the moment. And there's a difference between 240 bucks and 900+ bucks. From what I've found online, the 1050 Ti 4GB is a little bit better than the 680 while using way less power; so I think that should be fine.
