  1. Can we get thumbnails back in the updates section? I follow a lot of screenarchers, and normally I remove the ones that aren't from a game I'm interested in, or don't look like they're my speed. Now I have to click on each one to find out what it is, and when you get 20 image posts a day to look through, it adds up.
  2. Fantastic, I'm glad to see Excellentium and Napoleon getting some official recognition. Great work, folks!
  3. I apologize, that was not my intent. It is normal, I just wanted to make clear the consequences of doing it the wrong way. I said it like that because its much easier to do as you are making your mod instead of having to track down everything you used. But as far as required mods go, if I am reading your post correctly, you do NOT need permission from a mod author for that? I did not know this was the case. What exactly is the rule on this? I might have been mis-informed. No, everything will not be there. The friend would also need all the mods you used. So, permissions aside (not disregarding the issue, I swear, just asking a different question), if the models and textures aren't included if I just save the esp, how would I go about including them in the mod? Because I want to say I've got at least ten or fifteen resource packs that I use, I don't know which specific ones I used in this mod, and I don't want to have a required mod list that long (especially considering most of these resource packs are manual install, and extra especially if I end up just sharing it with my friends).
  4. But if I just hit save, everything will be in there? If I were to send the esp to a friend to test, someone who doesn't have the resources, the necessary textures and models and whatnot would all be included? Sorry if I'm repeating myself, I just vaguely remember reading a couple years ago that you have to create an archive or something.
  5. I've been working on a redo of Whiterun for a while, and originally it was just for myself, but it's looking pretty shiny and I was considering posting it to Nexus. However, I used a variety of modder's resources (plants and whatnot), and I'm not sure if I can just save the mod like normal and post the esp, or if I need to do something different to ensure that the resources will show up in someone else's game. If anyone could help me out that'd be cool.
  6. I make small mods for myself, mostly houses and such, I don't really post them. A while ago I decided to try something a little bigger, making Whiterun more interesting, and I've been working on it off and on. I've always been kind of computer illiterate so I'm pretty careful with what I do. I don't add any new NPCs or anything like that, mostly just plants and static objects, and I'm careful not to alter or delete vanilla objects. A bit after I started making the mod, I noticed one place in Whiterun where Skyrim reliably would crash to desktop immediately. It was way in back of Dragonsreach, on the opposite side from the jail. I had added an outdoor dining area there, with a number of statics. I thought it was pretty weird but I decided to just leave it, I don't really go back there anyway. Since then I've added much more stuff to Whiterun. A couple days ago I added some more market stalls, with quite a few objects on them (mostly static, but there are some food items that I didn't want to bother making a static of, like about six or seven soups). Now Skyrim crashes around these new stalls. I thought it might be memory related, so I turned off anti-aliasing and shadows. I was able to wander around the stalls for a little longer (~10-15 seconds), but it still crashes. I don't know if it's worth noting, but I put BrowseIdle markers in front of the stalls and set the faction ownership to WhiterunMarketShoppers (that's what I saw in the vanilla market). I'm just mentioning it because I've never done it before. It's not linked to anything so I'm not sure that it could cause a problem, but eh. I use a variety of modder's resources, mostly statics made from vanilla meshes, like some food platters from Tamira, but there are also some Witcher models from Oaristys, water lilies, etc. I have a couple of mods that retexture rocks and stone objects (mentioned because there are rocks at the market location and I used a Nord ruin piece at the Dragonsreach location), and I also have Inconsequential NPCs and Populated Cities, which add a number of NPCs to cities. I actually have quite a few mods, but those are the only ones that I can think of that would be relevant. I guess my question here is whether having a lot of objects/NPCs in one place like this can cause a crash. Like I said, I'm not so good with computers, but I've read volumes of troubleshooting stuff in the past few days (and in the past when I've had trouble), and this is the only explanation I can think of. And yeah, I've tested Whiterun with brand-new NPCs, same problem. I also did a clean install of Skyrim about a month ago and redid my mod setup (no conflicts), if that makes a difference.
